You looked up at the cheering crowd once again. He had promised you he would be there. You had begged your coach to save VIP seats for him and a few other friends of yours. How could they miss such an important event that you had been practicing for, for almost three months.
“Come on ___________, it’s time to get ready.”
“Hold on just let me make one last call,” you replied and dialed his number.
“Where are you?” you blurted as soon as the other side picked up the phone.
“I told you it’ll be hard for me to make it.”
“I know but I really want you to be here. This is important.”
“I know it’s important but if this hadn’t come up last minute you know I would have made it.”
“What about everybody else?”
“They can’t either.”
“Mianhe __________,” you heard voices from behind him.
“Ahhh it’s alright,” you said half heartedly.
“__________ come on every one is lining up.”
“I’m coming,” you yelled back to your trainer.
“Hey, I gotta go. Don’t cancel on my tonight though okay?”
“Good luck! And I won’t. I promise.”
“Yeah right. That’s what you said last time too,” you said and quickly hung up. No matter how much you tried to calm yourself, it still upset you that he was bailing on you last minute. You were really hyped up for It and he might not have known but his presence gave you more strength. It got all your competitive genes boosting up.
“Oh well,” you mumbled to yourself and lined up with the rest of the competitors. Together all of you walked out of the small room and into the stadium. The sun nearly blinded you. The crowd was cheering, which only made you more nervous. When you finally stabilized yourself you looked up one last time at the seats that were supposed to be occupied by your boyfriend and the rest of the Exo members. They were empty…
Everyone took their positions and waited for the whistle to be blown. You felt your energy draining out of you. You turned around, hoping there was still a chance for you to back out but no, it was too late. You saw your trainer wave at you and then at the man holding the whistle. His expression changed. He seemed angry.
“What?” you mumbled.
“___________ go, go, gooooooooo!” he yelled. You turned back around only to find that most girls were almost half way around the circular track.
“What the….,” you immediately began running. That’s all you needed to boost up your spirit. You were a fast runner and your loved the adrenaline rush you got each time you were on the track. It took you a while but you caught up to them.
One lap, two laps, three laps… only a few more and you would be done. As the race was bearing to the end, the cheering got louder. The trainers came closer to the tracks, yelling at their participants. That was it. The last lap. Most were way behind you while two were ahead and one was running right beside you. In fact she had been running besides you through out. You turned your head side ways to look at her. She seemed pretty focused.
“Aaaaaa,” you let out a frustrated scream and ran faster. You had left her behind and were now running with the two who were ahead of you. One of them got slower as the ending approached. It was you and the one other girl. You kept pushing yourself but your energy began to drain and your sides started hurting.
“Ahh,” you sighed trying to clear your vision. Your eyes fell on seven boys dressed in white attire, the last one holding purple lilies walking towards the seats you had reserved for your friends.
“No no no!,” you cried while still focusing on the track. You didn’t want someone else to take the seats you had reserved even if they couldn’t make it. As you got closer your heart began racing. It was them. They were there. They made it. You don’t know how but they made it but hey did. Tao was holding your favorite flowers, waving them in the air.
A smile spread on your face but his facial expressions changed as you got nearer.
“_________ run faster. What are you doing?” he yelled.
“Whoever wins get’s your boyfriend _______,” you heard Luhan yell while jumping excitedly.
*** Yeeeaaahhhh*** the rest of the members cheered, throwing their fists in the air.
“What?” Tao gave them a bewildered look. Luhan glared at him, signaling him to play along. Of course you couldn’t see that. All you knew was that those silly boys were betting on your boyfriend. You shifted your gaze to the girl next to you. She was getting ahead of you. In fact she was 1 foot ahead of you now.
“She’s winning _________. She’ll win him too,” you knew that was Chanyeol’s voice from behind. There was tension everywhere. The announcer seemed more hyped up than the crowd. He was speaking so fast you doubted anyone would understand him. The cheering got louder.
“Oh heck no!,” you cried and gave it all your might. After that you closed your eyes and hoped for the best.
You heard whistles being blown, confetti being thrown on your face and the crowd cheering. Someone pulled your hand and raised it high up.
“You wonnnnn,” the announcer in the suit said.
“What?” you opened your eyes and looked around. Your eyes fell on the boys cheering and jumping. Tao stood on the side giving you one of his beautiful smirks.
“Good job,” he mouthed the words and then gave you a thumbs up. You nodded your head and then someone dragged you to the other corner. Another guy in the suit put a medal around your neck. Pictures were taken with a few people. Some you knew, and others you had no idea who they were.
*********************************************
You took a shower, changed quickly and ran out to where the boys were.
“I thought you guys weren’t coming?” you said sprinting to them.
“Hey hey hey, no questions. Pictures first,” said Luhan and pulled out his camera. He pushed you next to Tao and began flashing away.
“You came,” you whispered to Tao.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
“Thank you.”
“Would you two stop moving your mouth and let me take the picture?” Luhan cried giving his classic glare.
Both you and him chuckled. You were glad that he could make it because he had given you the strength to win.

I chose Tao instead of Chen. It seemed more like Tao scenario to me that’s why :). Hope you like it. Also, I wrote this in the plane in a hurry along with a super tiny font because I didn’t want anyone to see what I was writing so I apologize if it isn’t that long. :(
