Your Wish Is My Command

Anonymous asked: "Did you go away from home for college? If so, were you scared of leaving your friends & family behind? How long did it take you to adjust?"

Yes I live away from home. Last year [and this year considering I’m still a freshmen] was my first year. To be honest I didn’t want to leave home. I was really scared because I felt like I wouldn’t be able to make friends and I will be just really awkward BUT it turned about to be the complete opposite. Starting University is starting elementary school. Everybody is looking to make friends so you'l easily make new friends. About friends back home, I have done a pretty good job staying in contact with them. [it depends how far are you moving] but I love my friends and I make an effort to stay in touch no matter how far they are so it really depends on how willing you are to put in the effort. As far as missing home is concerned, that also depends on how far you live? Can you go back frequently or not? I miss my family a lot and tbh I’d rather stay close to them because once I start working I will be away all the time anyways. So I miss home cooked meals and my mommy and my siblings and for this I will always regret moving away but I’m glad I made some really amazing friends and they help me cope with it. You get so busy that you rarely ever have time to think about it.

So if you’re really family oriented then you you might take some time adjust [like a month or so] but if you’re looking forward to the college life then [2-3 weeks max and you will be FINE]

Good luck :) and do let me know how things worked out for you :)
