Sehun sat besides you and sighed. Looking at the winkles on his forehead, you realized that he was very distressed. “You okay?” you asked.
“Woahh..where did you come from?” he jumped back in susprise.
“I was sitting here…” you pouted. You felt a little ashamed because you thought he had noticed you before sitting down.
“Sorry,” he mumbled. His face was buried in his hands. You didn’t know if you should ask him what was wrong. You only knew him through a friend and that too for about a month. You sat in silence, hearing him sigh repeatedly. You decided to excuse yourself.
“I have to go to class… I will see you later,” you said getting up.
“Oh sure.. see you around,” he replied.

Two months later:
You were walking to your last class of the day with your friend when Sehun called him from behind.
“Jeremy… stop!” he shouted from afar. Both you and Jeremy turned around.
“What’s up man?” the guys did a fist pump.
“Wanna go to the club tonight?”
“Didn’t we just go last week?” Jeremy replied.
“Yeah we did.. but tonight’s important,” Sehun said emphasizing on the last word.
“Ohhh,” Jeremy nodded and smiled.
“You should join too __________,” Sehun looked towards you.
“Nah it seems like a guys type of night. You two enjoy.”
“Oh no! You’ll have fun. Trust me,” he insisted.
You looked at Jeremy. He began to push you to join too. You finally nodded in agreement. You felt a little special when Sehun insisted that you come.

That night:
You wore your best outfit which you had been saving for a special occasion. It was your first time going to a club in almost two years. You had stopped going ever since your boy friend broke up with you.
When you and Jeremy reached the club you were surprised to see Sehun on his knees.
“What are you doing?” the girl standing opposite him asked.
“Will you be my girlfriend?” he asked.
“Why are you on your knees?” she asked.
“So you wouldn’t say no this time,” he winked.
The girl smiled and accepted the rose. The crowd around them clapped and began to congratulate Sehun. He saw the two of you and brought his girlfriend over.
“Hey guys! This is Nina,” he introduced her.
You felt a little stupid for dressing up so much. On the bright side, Sehun was too busy to notice your curls and bright red lipstick. It didn’t feel right to you to stay there for too long. Jeremy had started flirting with other girls and Sehun was too busy with Nina to talk to you. You quietly left before anyone could notice.

Two Years Later:
You worked at a small art studio place on the weekends. After graduation days had started to fly. You had no social life. All of your time was spent working and exercising. Sunday nights weren’t usually busy. One or two couples always showed up. That day it was raining heavily. You didn’t even bother standing behind the register. You took out a book and began to read. You were so involved in your book that you didn’t even hear the bell ring when someone entered the store.
“Annyeong-hasaeyo!” a customer said. You were taken by surprise at the sudden appearance. You looked up and a drenched Sehun was looking down at you.
“________,” he said your name in surprise.
“Sehun…” you said his name too. “Wooow I’m guessing you didn’t check the wheather before leaving?” you mocked him.
He nodded in embarrassment. “I was dying of boredom sitting at home so I decided to do something fun. One of my friends recommended this art studio. I was half way here when it started raining,” he explained hurriedly.
“Awww,” you sympathized with him.
“So what would you like to do?” you asked.
He looked around but didn’t seem too excited. “I don’t know if I want to do anything anymore. The rain’s killed my mood.”
“You don’t like rain?” you asked in surprise. He shook his head.
“That’s sad,” you commented.
Sehun sat down on a small stool a little away from the cash register. “Is it okay if I stay here till it stops raining?” he asked.
“Of course,” you replied.
The two of you began to catch up on college times. Jeremy had left for the United States but surprisingly Sehun was still in contact with him.
“I am surprised you never went out with him,” he said.
“What…no way. He was just a good friend,” you said.
“It’s what they all say,” he smirked.
You scrunched your nose in disagreement. “What about you and Nina? How is she?” you asked while handing him a cup of coffee. You heard him sigh.
“We broke up,” he said.
“Omo! Why?” you asked.
“It’s a long story. I’ll tell you some other time,” he said. He looked upset.
“What about you? How’s your love life. I remember you didn’t really like talking about it.”
You smiled at him, not sure if you should open up. “Have you never had a boyfriend?” he asked.
“I did,” you mumbled.
“Really? What happened?” he asked.
“Well… we went out for two years and I thought we were the perfect couple.”
“You weren’t?” he asked. You shook your head.
“Yeah! He broke up with me… because one night we both went to a club together. I drank too much and ended up throwing up on him. He felt humiliated and so he left me.”
“Jinja??” Sehun’s eyes widened in surprise. You nodded your head nervously. It was the first time you had told anyone about your relationship.
“I broke up with Nina because she would constantly accuse me of cheating on her.”
“Were you?” you asked.
“Huh… you think I would do that??” he said.
“Is that why you left her?”
“I thought it would be for the better. I began to realize that she is not the type of girl I want to be with.”
“How long has it been?”
“About six months now.. I think.”
“Do you still think about her?”
“A little.”
There was a short silence between the two of you. Sehun played with the last bit of coffee in his cup. You could tell that he was thinking about her.
“Relationships suck don’t they?” you asked.
“Not all of them,” he said. “ Keep hope alive.” He looked at his watch. It was close to 10 o clock. “Shouldn’t you be closing?” he asked. “I’ll walk you home, since its still raining.”
“Are you sure it’s not because you don’t have an umbrella?” you laughed.
“Aish,” he pushed you jokingly.
Sehun walked you home that night. You let him borrow your umbrella for the night as long as he promised to return it the next day.
****************************************************
The next day:
You found your umbrella outside your door when you returned home from work. You picked it up and a note fell down that was sticking behind it. It was from Sehun.
~ Wanna meet for coffee and talk about how sucky relationships can be ;) ~
You smiled at his silly way of asking you out. He hadn’t changed a bit.
“Sure”- you texted the number that was scribbled under the note.
