Sehun sat besides you and sighed. Looking at the winkles on his forehead, you realized that he was very distressed. “You okay?” you asked.
“Woahh..where did you come from?” he jumped back in susprise.
“I was sitting here…” you pouted. You felt a little ashamed because you thought he had noticed you before sitting down.
“Sorry,” he mumbled. His face was buried in his hands. You didn’t know if you should ask him what was wrong. You only knew him through a friend and that too for about a month. You sat in silence, hearing him sigh repeatedly. You decided to excuse yourself.
“I have to go to class… I will see you later,” you said getting up.
“Oh sure.. see you around,” he replied.
**********************************************
Two months later:
You were walking to your last class of the day with your friend when Sehun called him from behind.
“Jeremy… stop!” he shouted from afar. Both you and Jeremy turned around.
“What’s up man?” the guys did a fist pump.
“Wanna go to the club tonight?”
“Didn’t we just go last week?” Jeremy replied.
“Yeah we did.. but tonight’s important,” Sehun said emphasizing on the last word.
“Ohhh,” Jeremy nodded and smiled.
“You should join too __________,” Sehun looked towards you.
“Nah it seems like a guys type of night. You two enjoy.”
“Oh no! You’ll have fun. Trust me,” he insisted.
You looked at Jeremy. He began to push you to join too. You finally nodded in agreement. You felt a little special when Sehun insisted that you come.
**********************************************
That night:
You wore your best outfit which you had been saving for a special occasion. It was your first time going to a club in almost two years. You had stopped going ever since your boy friend broke up with you.
When you and Jeremy reached the club you were surprised to see Sehun on his knees.
“What are you doing?” the girl standing opposite him asked.
“Will you be my girlfriend?” he asked.
“Why are you on your knees?” she asked.
“So you wouldn’t say no this time,” he winked.
The girl smiled and accepted the rose. The crowd around them clapped and began to congratulate Sehun. He saw the two of you and brought his girlfriend over.
“Hey guys! This is Nina,” he introduced her.
You felt a little stupid for dressing up so much. On the bright side, Sehun was too busy to notice your curls and bright red lipstick. It didn’t feel right to you to stay there for too long. Jeremy had started flirting with other girls and Sehun was too busy with Nina to talk to you. You quietly left before anyone could notice.
***********************************************
Two Years Later:
You worked at a small art studio place on the weekends. After graduation days had started to fly. You had no social life. All of your time was spent working and exercising. Sunday nights weren’t usually busy. One or two couples always showed up. That day it was raining heavily. You didn’t even bother standing behind the register. You took out a book and began to read. You were so involved in your book that you didn’t even hear the bell ring when someone entered the store.
“Annyeong-hasaeyo!” a customer said. You were taken by surprise at the sudden appearance. You looked up and a drenched Sehun was looking down at you.
“________,” he said your name in surprise.
“Sehun…” you said his name too. “Wooow I’m guessing you didn’t check the wheather before leaving?” you mocked him.
He nodded in embarrassment. “I was dying of boredom sitting at home so I decided to do something fun. One of my friends recommended this art studio. I was half way here when it started raining,” he explained hurriedly.
“Awww,” you sympathized with him.
“So what would you like to do?” you asked.
He looked around but didn’t seem too excited. “I don’t know if I want to do anything anymore. The rain’s killed my mood.”
“You don’t like rain?” you asked in surprise. He shook his head.
“That’s sad,” you commented.
Sehun sat down on a small stool a little away from the cash register. “Is it okay if I stay here till it stops raining?” he asked.
“Of course,” you replied.
The two of you began to catch up on college times. Jeremy had left for the United States but surprisingly Sehun was still in contact with him.
“I am surprised you never went out with him,” he said.
“What…no way. He was just a good friend,” you said.
“It’s what they all say,” he smirked.
You scrunched your nose in disagreement. “What about you and Nina? How is she?” you asked while handing him a cup of coffee. You heard him sigh.
“We broke up,” he said.
“Omo! Why?” you asked.
“It’s a long story. I’ll tell you some other time,” he said. He looked upset.
“What about you? How’s your love life. I remember you didn’t really like talking about it.”
You smiled at him, not sure if you should open up. “Have you never had a boyfriend?” he asked.
“I did,” you mumbled.
“Really? What happened?” he asked.
“Well… we went out for two years and I thought we were the perfect couple.”
“You weren’t?” he asked. You shook your head.
“Yeah! He broke up with me… because one night we both went to a club together. I drank too much and ended up throwing up on him. He felt humiliated and so he left me.”
“Jinja??” Sehun’s eyes widened in surprise. You nodded your head nervously. It was the first time you had told anyone about your relationship.
“I broke up with Nina because she would constantly accuse me of cheating on her.”
“Were you?” you asked.
“Huh… you think I would do that??” he said.
“Is that why you left her?”
“I thought it would be for the better. I began to realize that she is not the type of girl I want to be with.”
“How long has it been?”
“About six months now.. I think.”
“Do you still think about her?”
“A little.”
There was a short silence between the two of you. Sehun played with the last bit of coffee in his cup. You could tell that he was thinking about her.
“Relationships suck don’t they?” you asked.
“Not all of them,” he said. “ Keep hope alive.” He looked at his watch. It was close to 10 o clock. “Shouldn’t you be closing?” he asked. “I’ll walk you home, since its still raining.”
“Are you sure it’s not because you don’t have an umbrella?” you laughed.
“Aish,” he pushed you jokingly.
Sehun walked you home that night. You let him borrow your umbrella for the night as long as he promised to return it the next day.
****************************************************
The next day:
You found your umbrella outside your door when you returned home from work. You picked it up and a note fell down that was sticking behind it. It was from Sehun.
~ Wanna meet for coffee and talk about how sucky relationships can be ;) ~
You smiled at his silly way of asking you out. He hadn’t changed a bit.
“Sure”- you texted the number that was scribbled under the note.

Sehunniieee scenario that I had been waiting to write in forever~~ Hope you guys enjoy it.
You casually back out of the movie theater parking lot… “thuddd” you hear a loud sound. “That didn’t sound very pleasant,” you say to yourself opening the door to your car.
“Oh no no nooooo,” you hear a guy cry.
“Did…I…hit your car?” you ask without looking in his direction.
“Yes,” he replied angrily.
“I’m so sorry,” you said walking towards him. “I am so sorry… I don’t know why I didn’t look in the mirror… I am soooo stupid..”
There was no reply. You looked towards him. He didn’t seem angry anymore. In fact there was sort of a shy smile on his face.
“Let me call the police so he could write a report.” You said dialing 9-1-1.
“Oh no… it’s okay. It doesn’t look that bad.”
“No…nooo there’s a huge dent. Okay.. let me call my insurance company.”
“No, seriously it’s fine. I can get it fixed myself.”
“That’ll cost you a fortune.”
“It’ll cost my dad a fortune,” he said with a calm smile and raised eyebrows.
“Oh…” you nodded your head returning the smile. “Ummm I’ll let you go..” You began to walk back towards your car.
“Umm excuse me…” he said.
“Yes?”
“Maybe..you could give me your number so I could contact you…in case dad refuses to pay?” h asked hesitantly. He played nervously with his fingers.
“Uhh.. yeah sure.. why not,” you replied. You handed a small piece of paper with your number on it.
******************************************
That night…
Your phone beeps- It’s a message from an unknown number.
“Hey.. its me! The person you met from earlier today…”
“I met lots of people today…” you replied knowing it was the guy you had hit the car of.
“I meant.. the guy outside the movie theater.”
“Oh..”
“Yeah…”
“So whatsup?”
“Yeah… dad said he won’t pay for it.. :(“
“What?? Really?? OMG I am so sorry.. okay I’ll call my insurance company right away”
Just as you were about to dial their number you received another text message from him.
“No … I was kidding don’t do that.”
“You scared me.. why would you that…”
“I’m sorry :(“
“Haha.. it’s alright.”
“So..I was wondering if you were free Saturday night?”
“Well that was very straightforward…”
A minute passed and there was no reply. Five minutes… then ten. You felt bad for saying what you did.
“You still there?” you sent another message.
“Oh you’re not upset?” he asked.
“No I thought I had upset you.. I was just joking.”
“Really? I thought I had come off as a creep. I shouldn’t have been so hasty.”
“Oh no I think I was being blunt. I would like to meet up this Saturday.”
“Who said I want to meet up?”
“What??”
“Haha I am kidding. Café Zuke at 7:30”
“Sure..~~”
************************************************
You arrived fifteen minutes before time unlike being fashionably late. To your surprise the guy was already there too. He waved at you from inside the café. Before you could reach for the door, you saw him lunge towards it and open it for you.
“Thank you,” you said slightly bowing. Both of you settled at a table in the corner away from everyone.
“It’s a nice quiet place. I didn’t even know it existed,” you said nervously.
“Are you nervous?” he asked.
“Nervous?” your voice broke as you repeated. “No..not at all.”
“My name is Luhan by the way…” he said while chuckling.
“My name is _________,” you replied with a shy smile. For some reason you felt over whelmed.
“So were you at the movies by yourself the other day?” he asked.
You nodded in agreement. “Yeah… I like watching them by myself. It’s more fun that way.”
“Don’t you get lonely?” he asked.
“Nope.. I haven’t really felt like that till now.” you said.
“That’s strange. I always have to have someone around me.”
“I guess we are the polar opposites..” you murmured.
“Not quiet..” he replied.
You looked at him for an explanation. “Look at the color of your dress… it matches my shirt.”
“That’s one thing,” you smiled a little. You could tell that he was really trying to make you feel at ease.
As the light blue sky turned a bright red and then finally a darker shade of blue, the two of you continued to talk. What started as an awkward conversation turned into something much more meaningful. He offered to walk you to the nearest MTR which you very graciously accepted.
“You know you are not as shallow as people may perceive you to be!” you said.
“Shallow? What do you mean? Why would anyone think that?” He asked a question after the other.
You thought for a while to come up with the right words. “What I meant to say is that you’re not like all those other pretty boys.” You said quickly hoping he didn’t catch what you had said.
“Did you just call me good looking?” he asked.
“Is that the only thing you got out of it?” you laughed.
“You didn’t answer my question” he said.
“Aish…ummm maybe,” you said increasing your pace. “My train is about to leave.”
“This calls for another date…” he said.
“A date? Today was a date?” you asked.
“Yeah…” he smiled with his eyes. You saw him blush but you couldn’t call him out for that since you yourself were blushing.
“I’ll see you later,” you said and quickly jumped onto the train.
It was a beautiful ending to a beautiful night.

Tao took your hand and raised it high up in the air. “Hmm,” you murmured. “Watch,” he said. You took your eyes off of the mute TV screen and looked up. He moved your hand in a horizontal eight like motion.
“Infinity?” you whispered.
“Yes..Infinity…” he paused. “Infinity is the time I want to be with you” he replied rather seriously. You chuckled a little at his sudden attempt to be romantic. You elbowed him slightly and moved yourself away.
“What?” he asked pulling you back. “Out of all the times you choose to be cheesy today?” you asked.
“Yes,” he said pushing you on the couch, hovering his slender but strong body over you.
“Let me watch the show,” you tried to fight back and push him away. Tao grabbed your wrist and pinned you back against the couch. “The show’s not that important,” he said breathing close to your face. It came to the point that you started to blush. “Now tell me that you love me..”
“Aaaaa…” you teased.
“What’s up guys?” Lay said entering the room.
“Oh my,” both you and Tao jumped up right.
“Oh…did I interrupt something?” Lay said taking his attention away from his phone and looking at you two.
“Oh no no.. nothing,” you said. “How’s that project of yours going?” you walked up to him.
“It’s almost done. I will need your help finishing the last part though. Turns out I’m going to have to record your voice again,” Lay replied.
“What project?” Tao tried to butt in. “Why don’t I know about this?”
“Stop bugging me,” Lay pushed him out of the way. “_________ so when will you be free?”
“Probably tomorrow night. Are you free then?” you asked him while handing an orange to Tao.
“Tomorrow!!” Tao suddenly cried out loud.
“Yeah!” you gave him a weird look also telling him to calm down.
“I’m free tomorrow,” Lay replied.
“Are you sure you’re free tomorrow night?” Tao asked you with special emphasis on the word tomorrow.
“Yes I’m sure,” you thought for a while before replying.
“Alright so its set. I’ll see you here tomorrow,” Lay said before leaving the kitchen. You looked over at Tao who seemed distressed and heartbroken. You began to ask when your phone suddenly rang. It was your mother. You had to take that call.
.
.
“Hey Tao! I’ll have to leave right away. Mom needs me home for some reason. But I’ll see you tomorrow I suppose.” You winked at him and rushed out the door soon after. Tao wanted to call you back but he was a little too upset to ask you to stay.
*************************************************
The Next Day
You sat next to Lay helping him decide which video clip to use next. “Why is this so cheesy? Look at the girl and the guy. This is too much. Are you sure you want to add that clip to your final video?” you asked him.
“It’s not that cheesy. This is exactly how you and Tao were when you first started going out.”
“Oh no we weren’t. If anything.. we were very normal and I definitely did not giggle as much as she is,” you said pointing towards the screen.
“You obviously can’t tell because both of you were love struck. Remember the first time he introduced you to us?” He was so excited that day..” Lay reminisced.
“Yes .. I remember how silly he acted that day. He bumped into that vase over there and broke it and I had to fix it for you guys later.”
“Yeah.. and then he tried to ..” Lay was talking when you suddenly jumped up.
“Oh my goodness gracious. I’m the worst girl friend ever,” your hands were shaking and your heart sinking slowly.
“Why?” Lay asked.
“Today is our one year anniversary Lay!” you whispered. “Where is Tao? I need him.”
“He hasn’t left his room since this morning,” Lay replied.
“Taooooo!! Taoooo,” you called while running towards his room. He had left the door open. You stormed inside dramatically. Tao was playing PS4.
“What? “he asked grumpily. You didn’t know what to say next. You weren’t sure if he remembered or not. It was a tricky situation.
“Why haven’t you left your room all day,” you asked.
“Didn’t feel like it,” he replied briefly.
“So…. Do you want to go out for dinner or something?” you asked.
“Not in the mood.” – There he had said it. You now knew that he was mad at you. Tao never turned you down like that. He was clearly mad at you.
“I’m sorry,” you said hurriedly and walked behind him.
“It’s okay. Doesn’t matter anymore anyways.”
“It does. It does to me,” you placed your hand on his shoulder.
“If it did you wouldn’t forget so easily,” he said angrily pushing you away. You were taken aback. You sat down on his bed not knowing what to say anymore. You had really hurt him and it didn’t really help with your situation since you always struggled with telling him how you really felt.
Tao stood quiet for a few minutes regretting his hasty actions. He sat down next to you and held your hand hoping you would say something.
“I’m sorry,” you apologized once again. “I’m sorry that I suck at this. I’m sorry that I’m such a bad girlfriend.”
“You’re not,” he pulled you into a hug and kissed you on your temple. “I just wish you wouldn’t ignore me when you’re around…you know.. Yixing Ge.”
You began to think about all the times Lay was around and you ignored Tao. Yesterday was not the first time. You did not mean to do that but being in a relationship was something new to you. Tao was more of the attached type while you barely ever showed any emotions. He needed that sense of security. You had been hurting him unintentionally and on top of that you forgot your own first anniversary. Girls never forget that.
“I ruin everything don’t I?” you asked.
“You don’t,” he denied your claim.
“I do. Don’t be nice to me. You should be mad at me if anything.”
“How can I ever be mad at you?,” he hugged you even more tightly.
“ I promise never to do this again,” you said in tears.
“Huh..? then how will I love you more every day?” he asked. He wiped your tears and kissed you again. “Don’t cry please. It hurts me.”
“Taooo,” you pushed him back. He chuckled. “I love you ________.”
“I love you too. Thank you so much for being my sweet heart,” you winked. “Now lets go out for dinner? I’m hungry.”
“Don’t you have to help Yixing Ge?” Tao asked.
“He can wait,” you smirked. “Now let’s go,” you pulled him out of the door. The more enthusiasm you showed the more Tao loved it.

Your fingers danced through the colorful dresses- silk, cotton, denim- you announced the name of the materials in your head. Your eyes matched your hand movement. They stopped in uniformity on a light hazel pink dress. Exactly what I’ve been looking for…
You yanked it out, feeling the soft milky material between your fingers. Your gaze wandered around to make sure no one was looking at you. Very quickly, you lifted the hanging price tag to sneak a look. $30. Hmmmm not bad… You wanted to try it on. Just when you began to walk someone called from behind.
“___________!” there was a slight hint of happiness and surprise in the voice of the stranger. You turned around, wishing you hadn’t. Your heartbeat took a deep dip before rising again. “Hey…How are you?” Chanyeol asked. You looked at him strangely, your head tilted slightly sideways and your eyes hinting a sense of empty distress.
“I’m fine,” you replied. “How are you??”
“I’m fine too,” he clapped an unhappy clap. It wasn’t the same anymore. Nothing was the same anymore… “So how’s life?” he asked.
“Life’s good-”
You noticed him nodding his head more than usual. He did that when he was nervous. He did that the first time he met you… the first time he dared to ask you to lunch two years ago.
“I like that dress you’re holding. It’ll look pretty on you,” he commented. Your thoughts took a big dive into the past. You began to reminisce the times you two had spent together. You two were so happy…in his words, perfect for each others. The late night talks, the planning of the near future, those summer kisses, the long tight hugs, walks in the park, breakfasts in the middle of the day and just about everything else you did together.
.
.
“ What are you doing here at this time of the night?” you asked him half surprised half happy. He held his hand up high refusing to speak and glanced at his watch. You heard him whisper three..two..one..”
“Happy Birthday….” he had cheered as soon as the clock struck twelve.
“Oh my..” you clenched your heart. You had forgotten it was your birthday. And there he was, standing in your balcony with a dozen roses and a half melted ice cream cake.
“Hurry make a wish…” he pushed forward the cake. You closed your eyes and wished for him to be by your side forever.
“Oh noooo!!” Chanyeol cried as the wind blew the candles before you could. “How will your wish ever come true now?” he’d asked.
.
.
.
“What happened to us,” you spat out still thinking about that day. Chanyeol looked at you, thinking of ways to answer the question he himself had been thinking about. You had shaken yourself back to reality by that time. The bitter, cold, hard reality. No wonder, the wish never came true. It made sense now.
While Chanyeol still tried ways to answer your abrupt question, you gave him a discontented smile. “I’ll see you around,” you said and waved.
“Aaaa, yeah…see you around,” he replied, turning almost immediately.
.
.
.
“It just doesn’t feel the same way anymore. The way it felt a year ago…you know,” he said holding your hand firmly.
“What do you mean? I think everything is fine between us,” you replied squeezing his hand.
“Think closely about it _______,” he said avoiding eye contact. “It’s not the same anymore. We are just trying to make each other happy but in reality that’s far from true. We are living a broken relationship…”
.
.
Those were the last words he had said to you before you parted almost a year ago. You couldn’t blame him. He was right.
You put the dress back on the shelf and walked out of the store. After all, what was the point of having things in your life that weren’t meant for you?

Here’s a sad one. I couldn’t remember if I was supposed to write a sad ending for this one or not but since I’m not really that happy today I decided it to be this way. I hope you guys like it :)
Edit: This song you guys this freaking song [it brings back lots of memories for me from last semester]

The goose bumps on your arms were coaxing you into closing the window at the far end of your office floor. You looked up at it with dagger eyes wishing it could react to your threat. No luck. You were just as stubborn. You wrapped your jacket around you tightly and began to scroll through your inbox once again. It was almost 8 o clock. Everyone had left the office building but you. You sat in the dark empty room, hoping for a miracle to happen on that Friday night. If you went home empty handed you would most likely not get promoted.
“Come on … come on.. come on!!” you said refreshing the page for the 10th time. Nothing. No new person had submitted a story. You had read and rejected five stories earlier that day. You were hoping someone would submit a good one by the end of the day. The deadline for the first rough draft was the following Tuesday which gave you one more working day to sort things out. Without a story, you would fail at the big end of the month project and never get promoted in your 2 year old job.
You sat in silence staring at you screen in utter disappointment. It was as if the whole universe was conspiring against you. A healthy smile took you at your own thought. You were a bit of a dramatic person.
Suddenly, your ears perked at the *bling* on your computer. The bold words appearing before you could never be more satisfying. It was an email, an email you had been longing to receive. You clicked on it immediately. There wasn’t much content except a single line stating that a story was attached. It seemed as if the sender was in a hurry.
Nevertheless, you downloaded the file and began reading. The very first line had captured all your attention. But slowly the content went downhill. You were starting to lose focus. It seemed as if the writer was very detached from his work. There were occasions that you felt he/she had put their heart and soul into it and at other times the whole story was just falling apart.
You could also tell that English was their second language since the mistakes were beyond imaginable. That, you could fix but only if the story was a little better written. The plot was the same as any other story about relationships falling apart.
“Great! …another heartbreaker!” you frowned at the draft. It was around 9 o clock. It hadn’t taking you much long to skim through the story. You opened a new window and like you had done 5 times already, began writing an email telling the sender that the story was going to be rejected.
With a heavy heart you clicked ‘send’. Your day was finally over. You began packing your content when you heard another *bling*. It was from the same person. You scrunched your nose as you clicked on it.
“Hello,
I am sorry my last email was so rushed. I was at a public computer and my time was almost over. I do not quite understand why my work has been rejected. I have put a lot of thought into it. From your feedback you gave me I have a feeling I still have a chance.
Would you like to meet in person so we can discuss this further? This is very important to me and I do not want to fail at this big opportunity. If you think my request is a bit out of line, I apologize in advance.
Sincerely
Luhan”
You felt your heart sink a little as you read the name. “Luhan… hmmm” you whispered. The name rang a bell but you could not remember for sure. You read and re read the email a few times. There was nothing planned for the weekend anyways. You wrote a brief reply:
“Hey
Tomorrow: 9 o clock
Place: City Café
___________”
“Thank you so much. I will see you there.
Luhan”
“Great,” you muttered to yourself as you walked out of the dark room. Now you had to reject him in person.
***********************************************
You looked more than fresh, sitting in a corner table at the café. You didn’t mind the least being the first one to arrive. You had gotten there a half hour early. There were a few other people at the shop. None of them caught your attention but a guy sitting at the other end of the café, newspaper covering his face. He had seemed to get there a few minutes before you since you saw him order when you entered.
Time flew by quickly. It was five minutes past nine. You frowned a little at his tardiness. That was one thing you hated about writers. Another five minutes passed. You swung your head towards the door again. In the moment, your eyes met the guy sitting at the other end. He had also been curiously looking towards the door. Both you and he smiled at each other foolishly knowing that you had been waiting for each other this whole time. He grabbed his bad nervously, almost spilling his coffee and dropping the newspaper. He walked towards you with a hearty but shaken smile.
“Hello,” he muttered quickly looking away, pretending to set his content on the table.
“Hi,” you replied offering your hand.
Both you and he settled down opposite each other. You gave him a comforting smile so he wouldn’t be completely lost due to his jumpy condition. You heard him take a few deep breaths to relax himself. In only a few moments he seemed to be getting normal.
“I’m sorry about this,” he said pointing to himself. You narrowed your eyebrows as if questioning his statement.
“For being so flustered..” he added. “I didn’t get enough sleep last night.”
“May I ask why was that so? …ah.. you don’t have to answer if you’re not comfortable,” you said. He looked up at you. He was very relaxed and smiling more casually now.
“Oh … I had personal business to take care of. Nothing too special.” He looked away once again so you won’t be able to tell he was lying. He had spent the entire last night editing and re editing the story and practicing how he would convince you. If he didn’t get this break, his career would be over. His rich father will call him back home and force him to attend Business School.
“I’m not too sure why you called me here today?” you asked.
“I want you to re read the story one more time. Let me know what’s wrong. I’ll try my best to fix it…”
“Luhan…,” you said his name hesitantly. “That’s not the problem though. Even if you fix all these little mistakes…your story is still not extra ordinary. It’s not any different from the many others we have published already. We need something different. Something people have never read before. Something that makes them anticipate our next issue.”
His lips parted to defend his position but he soon realized that it would be better he remained quiet. He had to choose his words wisely for you to be convinced. He sat, his head bent down, eyes closed and hands clapped together. You examined his soft features. They were so baby like. Innocence printed all over his face. You were starting to doubt if he was older than you. Knowing that people around you, may be looking you diverted your attention towards the beautiful white Gardenia in the red vase. You were surprised to see them at a small café like that one. There was smell was very pleasing to the nose. You could not help but admire their delicate structure. Taking one out of the vase, you brought it close to your nose. For a second, you felt like you were back at the coffee shop two years ago, waiting for your date. He had walked in with grace, holding those beautiful gardenias in his hands. He had apologized repeatedly for being late. His smile, his eyes, his face everything was a mark of perfection. He was your muse. Every word he uttered sounded like a sweet melody to you.
You shook your head back to reality also sighing deeply. Broken relationships were better forgotten. As you looked up, you saw a dazed writer staring back at you. He had been admiring you, admiring the flowers. But in that moment, he had realized how hurt and broken you were on the inside.
“Are you okay?” you asked.
“Huh.. ah yeah,” he said shaking his head in embarrassment.
“ Look Luhan,” you began once again. Your past thoughts had suddenly changed your mind. You wanted to give him a chance. “You just need to find some inspiration and I’m sure you’ll be able to produce something worthy of publishing.”
You realized that you had placed your hand over his. You immediately pulled back.
“Inspiration is all you need to …”
“I think I just found it,” Luhan said cutting you. You looked at him with a half dazed state.
“Okay then,” you said getting up. “Send me something by Sunday night and I’ll see what I can do.”
“Excuse me,” he called you. “Your bag.”
You took it from him, turning back immediately so he wouldn’t see your light pink blushing face.
******************************************************
Sunday Night, 8 o clock:
You heard the *bling* as soon as you sat down on your working table at home. He was right on time! You clicked open the attached file.
‘Cafe Rendezvous
There was something very beautiful about the way her tear laden eyes admired the Gardenias. The way that faint but breathtaking smile embraced her soft lips, the way her fingers danced nervously and they way her nostrils flared only slightly …all of it was indescribable….’
You felt a shudder run through your body. His words were beautiful…you felt beautiful. You wiped the tears out of your eyes. You had a story to read…

So ummm I wanted this one to be dramatic and here it is. I hope you guys like this. :*

“Shhhh!!… shut up all of you,” you whispered rather angrily. There was complete silence in just a few seconds. You rolled your eyes at the immature group of fellow students you had recruited to get this job done. They looked at you rather fearfully as you turned around with an evil smile. You walked past them and stood with your shoulders up right and arms folded.
“Tonight the boys of the red house dorms will face our revenge. And from tomorrow onwards,” you said pointing at the group standing before you, “They will never think to mess with us again.”
As you finished your sentence, you heard the first dog bark and soon the others were following. This was a sign that all of them had been released. You waved at the girls signaling for them to run back to the yellow house dorms.
Ever since you had joined Sky Ridge High, you felt like you were home. It was place you were longing to become a part of. The people were nice and very accepting of new comers. In only a few years you had announced yourself as an unofficial leader of the Yellow house dorms. The girls had accepted this graciously but none of the others had the confidence to put you down.
Very recently, rivalry had started to grow between Yellow house and Red house. The other two dorms didn’t bother interfering. It all started with some boy known as Sehun, who pulled a rather harsh prank on one of the girls from the Yellow house dorms. She was embarrassed and of course aggravated therefore she came to you for help. You confronted Sehun asking him to apologize but he wouldn’t budge. He was stubborn, quite like you yourself. From then on the Prank War had started.
*******************************************************
“****Yellow House Ladiesssssss!!!!!!!*****” you heard Coach Mark yell at 7 in the morning. No matter how many times you covered your ears, the noise from the chaos outside wouldn’t block it. You gave up, threw the pillow in the corner and walked out the dorm. The rest of the girls were all aligned, hands folded behind and bodies straight up right. You fixed your messy bed hair and squeezed yourself between two nervous girls.
“It has been reported that someone …from one of the dorms released the Red house dogs in their yard last night.”
Coach Mark’s ears perked upon hearing a chuckle. Sure enough it was from you. He walked towards you maintaining his stern posture. He stopped only a few inches away from you casting a shadow on your tiny body. “And may I know the reason for why you may be laughing?” he roared. Images of the yellow house boys not being able to sleep and walking like zombies around the school were dancing before your eyes. You glanced up at him. His serious face was only boasting your laughter. You bit your lip and presented your defense.
“I..just think it’s funny.. that we are being questioned for the ‘Red House dogs.’ No one else has access to their shed therefore it has to be one of them who left it open last night. Why would one of the ladies from our dorm bother to wake up in the middle of the night, crawl to their shed and let the dogs loose? It just doesn’t make sense to me. You’re wasting your time here…” By the time you finished speaking, you noticed your body shaking a little. Coach Mark was standing a little too close to you. You had never been much of a good liar therefore if he caught you, you would all be screwed. The man scrutinized your face for half a minute before turning around. “I have heard of the so called ‘Prank War’ between the two dorms and …if this was your idea of a prank then all you ladies will be punished severely. Since Ms. ______ here has denied any claims to you girls being involved I will not take any actions but if any evidence says otherwise,” he paused and turned to you once again. “the consequences will not be settling for anyone.”
With that said, Coach Mark walked out of the lobby. The room filled with worried whispers. Some were shaking with fear while others were breaking down. You tried to calm everyone but no one would listen. You jumped on top of one of the couches and dropped the silverware you had found in your jacket pocket on the floor. The noise wasn’t enough but it settled a few girls near you. They helped calm down the other ones too. Now they all looked up at you as if you were about to deliver a sermon.
“Girls! Calm down. Those boys have nothing on us. We erased all evidence last night. So don’t be fearful and don’t give in. We won last night’s battle which may have aggravated them but we have to stay put. Don’t give in I repeat. Don’t give in.”
The girls stared back at you with a little more confidence. You had always been there for them. They trusted you a lot with such stuff. Slowly the lobby started to clear up. You looked at your watch sadly. It was almost time to go to class.
******************************************************************
Geography was your least favorite subject. You rarely ever paid attention in class. In fact you didn’t know half the kids in that class since you never bothered to turn around and look. While you were still day dreaming, you heard someone get slapped with a book. You spun around to find Ms. Dinsdale hovering her tiny body over Sehun. He jumped upright, startled by the sudden attack. You were about to burst into laughter when you saw his red eyes and zombie like face.
“Are you too smart to not care about what I’m teaching in this class?” Ms Dinsdale shouted. You felt his bright red ears perk. He rubbed his eyes and shook his head obediently. He opened his mouth to defend himself but instead it turned into a yawn.
“I’m sorry,” he finally said also trying to stretch his body a little. “I didn’t get enough sleep last night.”
“That’s not my problem,” Ms Dinsdale shouted. She walked back to her table and just as Sehun was about to sit down again she began walking towards him again.
“Who told you, you could sit?” she said handing him a yellow slip. “Report to the Mr. Wyldewell’s office after class.”
Sehun scratched the back of his head holding another attack of yawning. You had to admit he looked a little comical. Just as he was about to sit down his eyes fell on you. You were smiling at him, brightly. You raised your hand to tuck your hair back to show him a sign that you’d won. Sehun glared at you like a wounded Lion as he settled.
**********************************************************
You danced along the corridor making your way to the entrance of the building after class when someone pulled you from behind. It wasn’t violent but very forceful instead. Your attacker pushed you into an empty store room, holding your firmly as he locked the door. You turned around knowing exactly who it would be.
“Sehun!” you cried out his name.
“Shhhhh,” he said furiously. He pinned you against the wall jerking you a little. “Do you think that was funny?”
“What was funny?” you asked with an emotionless voice.
“What you did last night?” He knew you were lying. He began unbuttoning his shirt.
“Hey hey hey.. don’t be stupid. We can settle this another way,” you said.
“I’m not going to rape you, you idiot. He removed a part of his shirt to reveal scratch marks. “The prank was good. I give you that… but you should have full knowledge of things when you do something as stupid as that. Those dogs are trained to attack anyone and by anyone I mean literally anyone at that time of the night. So when us boys tried to calm them and send them back this is what happened,” he said pointed to himself once again.
“Why would you think I did that?” you asked. A faint smile appeared on Sehun’s face. He put his hand in his pocket to reveal s royal blue bracelet.
“Missing something?” he asked.
“Omo,” you gasped trying to take it from him but of course he was taller and much stronger than you.
“Aaaa aaan aaaan… don’t even try,” he pinned you against the wall once again. “I could have submitted this as an evidence but then I thought for a while again. Why would I want to do that? I’m not as stupid as you after all ..and maybe… there’s some nice in me,”
“Oh shut up,” you hissed. Sehun’s eyes widened in surprise. He was being nice to you and then there were you, being ungrateful as always.
“Do you want me to go turn this in? .. you’ll be suspended immediately,” he said.
“Nooo!” you cried pulling him back. “Please don’t do that.”
You could hear him laugh a little. He lowered his hand a little as if trying to give you your bracelet back but still wanting to torture you. You jumped up a few times but realizing that he was only humiliating you, you stopped.
“What do you want me to do?” you asked with a crying face, which was obviously a fake. Sehun looked at you, wanting to get a little closer but he restrained himself. He knew that was not a good time to confess his feelings for you. You looked at him staring back at you. It was starting to freak you out.
“Here! Take it,” he said finally offering you the bracelet.
“You’re just going to give it to me?” you asked suspiciously. He nodded without taking his eyes off of you for even once.
“Some people are just nice you know,” he said. Your face had an expression far from pleasant. You took the bracelet from him, fixed your shirt and began to walk away. Your inner conscious was nudging you to stop and thank him. You weren’t going to give in but your feelings for Sehun made you stop. Somewhere along the pranks and little pesky fights you had grown to like him… you just didn’t know it yet.
“Sehun ahh,” you called to him. He looked up at you with a hopeful face. “Gomawo,” you said and waved at him before leaving.
Sehun smiled as you disappeared into the crowd. He shook his head like a child and followed close behind. At least the rivalry was over…

“Do you love me?” you asked Kris. He took his eyes off of the magazine for a second to look at you. You weren’t looking at him. Instead, your hands were up in the air moving in a wave like motion. You liked laying your head on Kris’s lap while he kept himself busy with a book or his IPad.
“You didn’t answer my question?” you asked once again.
“Of course I do _______,” he replied but this time not looking at you at all.
“Then say it back!” you said sitting up and forcing him to look at you. Kris put the magazine aside and leaned closer to you. He stared at your face for a good minute as if scrutinizing your every feature carefully. “Are you okay?” he asked.
“Huh? Obviously,” you pouted.
“You’re acting very strange today.” Kris held your hand and kissed it. He was amused, on the inside, looking at your hyper side. You were rarely ever like that.
“I’m perfectly fine…. But …you still haven’t told me that you love me,” you said with a disappointed face.
“Okay! Here you go… I ..lov…” Kris said leaning closer to you with every word he uttered.
“Hey guyssss,” Sehun sort of announced his entrance. Both you and Kris pulled apart.
“Oh hey,” you replied tucking your hair behind your ear.
“Hey,” Kris said with a serious face. He hated that Sehun somehow always interrupted any time you and him tried to be intimate.
“Sorry! I just wanted some orange juice from the kitchen… you guys…carry on,” Sehun said with a naughty smile on his lips.
“Thank yo..” Kris said but you interrupted him. “Oh no we weren’t really doing anything… come join us if you’d like.”
“No no I’m good,” Sehun replied politely. You felt Kris squeeze your hand but you did not react much to it. It was Kris’s habit to seek your attention that way. Your eyes were fixed at Sehun till he walked back into his room. Kris nudged you to look at him when the coast was finally clear.
“You okay?” he asked playing with your hair.
“Yeah..” you replied rather seriously.
“__________ is there something going on? Something you need to tell me?” Kris asked noticing your bland expressions. Just a few minutes ago you were so happy and as soon as Sehun came and left your mood had shifted entirely.
********************************************************
It was very rare for Kris to ever plan on leaving his dorm. He liked staying in most of the time. That day, you pushed him and the other members to do something fun and so all of you ended up in the basketball court downstairs. Xiumin, Luhan, Kris and Chanyeol were busy playing while you Sehun and Suho watched.
Kris’s attention shifted towards you from time to time. He got hit by the ball more than often and scolded by Xiumin just as much. “Kris if you’re not in the mood to play just sit down,” Xiumin said out of frustration. You were busy talking to Sehun when you heard Xiumin. You looked at him, asking him what was wrong. He shook his head and turned around. He wanted to win the game.
During half time Kris walked up to you and tried to squeeze himself between you and Sehun. You gave him a strange look but to avoid the awkwardness Sehun began laughing. Kris took the water bottle out of your hand and began drinking while staring at Sehun. Sehun still could not control his laugh. Just then aa girl walked into the court.
“Sehunniieeee…!” she called out and waved in you guys’ direction. She ran up to Sehun and jumped up to sit beside him. “I didn’t know you played basketball!” she said lightly tapping his shoulder.
“Everyone! Meet Lindy,” Sehun introduced her with a majestic hand motions.
*Heeeeyyy* - everyone waved to her.
“Who is she?” you asked Sehun. Kris’s attention diverted towards you once again.
“A friend,” Sehun replied but you caught the slight blush and shy smile. He definitely liked her. She was more than a friend to him. You looked her up and down. She was very pretty too. You couldn’t help but compare her to yourself. A little part of you began to miss the time you had spent with Sehun. Kris nudged you out of your thoughts asking you what was wrong. You shook your head and rested your head on his shoulder. You were with Kris now and there was no doubt you liked him a lot more than you ever liked Sehun.
**********************************************************
After the game ended, everyone went back to the dorms to wash up. You ordered pizza and waited for everyone so you could eat together. Soon the room was filled once again but Kris was missing. Suho asked you to go find him. You walked into Kris’s room who was sitting on his bed, his arms crossed, in a deep state of thinking.
“Aren’t you hungry?” you asked.
“No,” he replied. You could sense that something was wrong with him. You closed the door behind and sat beside him.
“You’ve been acting strange all day. What’s up?” you asked placing your hand on his. He didn’t respond this time. In fact he didn’t even look at you.
“Kris…” you nudged him.
“Huh..!” he sort of woke up as if he was sleeping. “_________,” he said holding your hand tightly. “Do you love me?” he asked.
“Love…?…Of course I do..” you replied confidently. “But why are you asking?”
“ Then tell me honestly one thing..”
“What?” you asked.
“Do you still have feelings for Sehun?” His question ran shudders through your body. Your face turned bright red and your heart raced faster than usual. You looked away nervously to avoid eye contact.
“Do you?” he asked again and pressed your hand. You shook your head slightly still not looking at him. He lifted your face with the tip of his slender fingers. He could feel your face burning up. He knew something was up.
“I don’t,” you said reassuringly.
“Then why do I feel like you do?” he asked.
“I don’t know,” you said getting up and walking to the window. Kris followed you out of the bed. “It’s just hard sometimes…seeing him with …other girls. I spent two years with him.. It’s hard to forget Kris. Sometimes it’s hard to forget.”
Kris put his hands on your shoulder to console you. You were on the brink of crying but you held back your tears. You were not going to cry for another guy in front of your boyfriend.
“But I can assure you I don’t feel the same way about him anymore. I like…love… you now and that’s all that matters.”
“You don’t have to say that to make me feel better,” Kris said.
“I do.. because that’s how I feel and you should know that. I don’t say it often but I do.. I do love you.”
Kris looked into your teary eyes and all he could see was honesty. You didn’t have to put more effort to convince him. He knew that what the two of you had was much different then what you ever had with Sehun. You were young and immature when you dated him but ever since Kris came into your life things changed a lot.
“I won’t talk to him if it makes you uncomfortable,” you mumbled. Kris nodded his head and embraced you. He could have said no but he was a little insecure. He didn’t want to lose and if that meant you making a little sacrifice than he was not going to stop you. You on the other hand were happy to do so, if it made him happy. You knew in your heart the Kris was the one and there was everything you were going to do to keep him close to yourself.

Lay stood by the door looking at you sleep peacefully. He could tell you had cried a lot the night before but dare not show him how you felt. He wished he was brave enough to face his fears. Vivid memories from his past always held him back and thus he gave you a disappointing answer each time. Lay walked to your side and ran his fingers on your forehead. He gave you a tender kiss on your forehead and then your cheeks. “I’m sorry,” he whispered.
**********************************************
You saw Lay stand by the pillar like usual. His train came a little before yours and so the two of you walked home together every day. There was no one day that you remained quiet but that day, you didn’t have anything to say. You knew it would hurt him but you were hurting too. You hated presenting the same question to him when you knew the answer wouldn’t change.
You felt him touch your hand. He was still debating if he should hold it or not when you looked at him. You folded your arms to ease his indecisive state.
“_______!” he mumbled your name. “Hmmm,” you responded after a while. Lay didn’t say anything. He couldn’t think of anything to say. It would be the same as usual stuff, him trying to convince you that life would still be good if the two of you didn’t have a baby.
Ever since you had started wishing to become a parent, all you could see around you were expecting mothers or happy families. You wanted to be one of them but Lay was too scared to become a father. What frustrated you more was that he never gave a rationale as to why he such a strong opinion about the subject. You were afraid it was creating rifts in your relationship. That day too, you could tell he was trying really hard to talk to you but like always, he didn’t have the right words. And the only right words you wanted to hear from him were – ‘yes’. That would make everything better.
***************************************************
The silent walk home was more unbearable for Lay than you. You settled down on your bed taking a deep breath. Lay walked into the room and sat beside you.
“I’m sorry,” he said.
“That wouldn’t change anything Lay. Let’s just forget about it. I’m going to go make us some dinner,” you said, getting up.
“No! stay,” he pulled you back. You looked at him, hoping he would say something but he still didn’t have anything to say.
“If you’re not going to say anything than just let me go. I have stuff to do for tomorrow,” you said out of frustration.
“Are you mad at me?” he asked. You were mad at him and him asking you such an obvious question was not make things any better. You wanted to yell but instead you clenched your fist to let out all of your anger without saying a word.
“I’m not mad,” you finally said. “I’m just disappointed.”
“Disappointed?” he asked.
“Disappointed that you won’t trust me.”
“I do trust you… it’s just that…”
“No! If you trusted me you would tell me why you don’t want us to start a family.”
“We are a family!”
“We are not…” you said angrily, pulling your hands out of his.
“________!” he held your hands again instantly. “Okay let me tell you why.” He calmed himself and began once again. “I am scared because I know I won’t be a good father.”
“Why?”
“Because I have seen my mother suffer my father’s torture every day. He beat her and us and called us names and was never there for us. None of us were surprised when he left one day. What if I turn out to be like that? What if I can’t take care of my kids? What if I can’t love them the way they want to be loved? I don’t know how this works. I don’t want to disappoint you or our child. I’ve lived my entire life hating my father and I am afraid my child will hate me too.”
You looked at Lay in utter confusion. He thoughts were so illogical, almost cynical. He had never shown this side of himself to you. He was always tender and warm hearted. You knew he came from a broken family but you had no idea it had left such a definite impression on him. You looked over at him. Maybe it was your love speaking for him but there was one thing you knew for sure and that was that Lay would never hurt anyone on purpose. You held his hand firmly because you now you knew exactly how to convince him.
“Do you love me?” you asked. He looked at you with confusion. What kind of a question was that?
“Of course I love you,” he said with wrinkles on his forehead.
“Do you think you could ever hurt me?” you asked another question. Lay began to say but stopped. He didn’t have answer and he knew exactly where you were going with it.
“Then how do you think would you hurt our child? What happened to you and your family is a sad reality but you and I both know it won’t repeat. Your mother was a great mother. You should trust the way she raised you. You’ve seen what your father did to you guys and that is what will teach you to be a better person than he was. Don’t demoralize yourself just because your father was a bad person. Being a parent may be a lot of responsibility but we all learn slowly. It may seem horrifying at first but you will get better at it every day. You just have to trust yourself Lay. You care so much about others how could you possibly think you would hurt me or our child?”
Lay blinked repeatedly, trying to absorb all that you had said in a mere few seconds. He wanted to hug you for being so supportive but he was embarrassed for putting you through a lot. He looked away, ashamed at his thoughts.
“Don’t do this,” you said as you tried to turn him towards you. “You know I love you and I won’t ever think of you as foolish.”
“I’m so stupid _______,” he said hugging you tightly.
“No you’re not,” you whispered back.
************************************************************
2 years later:
You glanced over at Lay and Minjun from time to time. Lay had fallen asleep holding him in his arms. You took a picture of the father and son and laughed to yourself. “And he said he couldn’t be a good father…”

[When he imprints you]
You wake to the sound of the cabin’s door smashing open. A shadowy figure limps in, dragging its body from behind as if its weight was to much to bear. With each approaching step, you can hear its claws raking the the wooden floor. You make out the its features through the darkness — bulky chest, massive arms, pointed snout, sharp ears, a body coated in fur, and what appears like a tail swinging behind.
Tap-tap-tap, the rain pounds the window — the roof — the cabin. The wind howls violently. A clap of thunder shakes the room, followed by a strike of lightning, illuminating the space in between.
And just as abruptly as it appeared, the beast vanished, leaving in its place a thin, frail boy. Kai? You want to call his name, but before you can, he collapses onto the ground. Scrambling out from beneath the covers, you dash over to him. His feet are caked in mud, and his nails - cracked and bloody. His body is abnormally hot, slick with perspiration. He suddenly jolts up, knocking you over, and pinning you to the floor. His nails dig into your wrists, his gaze carrying only the look of fervent lust. You scream for him to let go, but he silences you, crushing his lips against yours. His tongue travels down your neck, while his teeth tugs at the yarn binding your nightgown. His thousand kisses burn, leaving a trail of fire on your flesh. You whimper at his touch - not from passion, but from pain. He was nearing the completion of his task when he froze. An expression of absolute terror consumes his face as he shrinks back, finally realizing what he had done. His eyes dart to yours pleading for mercy - for forgiveness - for help.
“I-I … please … I-I can’t … I —” he vomits out a string of barely comprehensible words. His unexpected change leaves you speechless. The room is frozen - neither of you dare to even breathe. “Please just say something! Anything! Get angry! Yell at me! Hit me! Just please do something!” he cries in frustration. He cradles himself - knees bent in - and rocks back and forth. His eyes are wide in fear. “Please. Don’t hate me — I don’t want to be alone. I don’t want to be alone. I don’t want to be alone!”, he continues, lost and disorientated. He claws at his face, then begins to pull out hair. His stoic and composed self no longer existed. Here, he was naked to his both his torments and desires. “Please — please — plea —”
You wrap your arms around him and gently caress his cheeks, running your fingers through his hair, unknotting the wild tangles. At first he is uncertain of how to respond, but then pulls you in closer - finally allowing the tears to spill. You hold him tightly, afraid that if you let go, he would disappear. No words were needed. There was a mutual understanding between he and you. And the two of you remain there, comforted by the stillness and warmth the cabin offered. He finally settles down, and the room is silent. He peers up - eyes fixed on yours, and inches in. His lips faintly brush against yours. The only sound is the soft drumming of rain. Tap-tap-tap. The rain carries on.
Seconds tick by.
Minutes.
Hours.
How much time has passed? You can’t tell.
Rays of light peek in, seeping through the curtains. He eases back into a sitting position and stands up, walking over to the window. His fingers trace the fabric’s patterns, pushing against the soft texture of the curtain before flinging it away. A flood of light pours in.
The forest is abloom with color. The rains and clouds had receded, leaving behind a lingering mist. Dew dots the grass like tiny gems, reflecting vibrant rainbows of sapphire, amber, emeralds, and rubies. Tiny critters begin to peek out from beneath moss covered branches. Birds sing melodious tunes in their new spas. But the mighty trees presided over them all, calmly guarding its precious inhabitants. Nature was bright and alive.
A gentle breeze blows in, carrying the sweet scent of chrysanthemum with it. He turns towards you, his dark hair a disheveled mess. His clothing is ripped and battered. Bruises and scars litter his body — and yet his eyes sparkle with intense joy, and he appears as though ready to take flight. Clouds of dust dance around him, wrapping him in a halo of light. At first, there was a faint sign of hesitance on his face — a look of confusion, as though he were about to say something important. But it quickly vanishes as he breaks into a rare, yet honest smile. He no longer resembled the boy from earlier — beaten and defeated — rather, he beamed with a natural, radiant aura that only a child would possess. And seeing him there, you can’t help but smile back.

I felt like this was the perfect time to release this one. I had one of my friends write this for me. She is absolutely amazing and here is a small author’s note from her:
“This was so hard. I’ve never really written anything but literature essays in present tense before, so it was real tough to apply it here. So basically, I was going for something like, Kai had transformed into a werewolf that night and comes back to the cabin where he reverts back to human form. However, the feelings left from being in his other form still lingers and he’s violent because of that. Once he finally snaps out of it, he realizes that he did bad things, And in the end, he just knows that she cares for him, but is too shy to say thanks. “

Xiumin walked into the apartment, tired and exhausted from his activities for the day. You glanced at him from the kitchen with a calm smile. He lifted his fingers, signaling you to remain quiet. He wanted to surprise Hyunshik for coming home early that day.
“He’s asleep,” you said rather loudly. Xiumin gave you a bewildered look. “What do you mean he’s asleep at this hour? It’s only 6 in the evening.” His eyes traveled to the side window which was decorated with sunlight.
“I know. He was just really tired when he got back from school,” you replied.
“Apppaaaa!!” both you and Xiumin jumped around upon hearing Hyunshik’s cry. He wasn’t asleep after all.
“When did you wake up little one?” you asked as he ran toward his daddy.
“Just now when I heard the door open,” he replied. Xiumin lifted him up and planted a kiss on his puffy cheeks.
“You promised to take me to the park today. Can we go now?” he asked excitedly.
“Of course,” Xiumin replied. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” He let Hyunshik on the floor so they both could go and change.
A few minutes later, both father and son came out of the room dressed in matching red polo and khakis. You couldn’t help but shed a few tears. They both were your babies. Your cute little babies.
“Where did you guys get that from?” you asked.
“Appa got them last month remember?” Hyunshik said moving his big doughy eyes. You couldn’t recall but you pretended to remember.
“Aren’t you coming?” Xiumin asked you.
“I would love too but I still have to get dinner ready. Didn’t you say the members will be here by eight?” you asked.
“Yeah! I’m sorry it was so last minute,” he apologized.
“Oh don’t worry about it,” you said patting his shoulder lightly. The two boys held hands and walked out the door hoping and jumping. You want to hug them tightly and maybe take a picture or two but you were running out of time. You had a lot to get done.
***************************************************
“Seriously, how long will it take them to come back? ________ you need to control your boys,” Suho joked sternly.
“God knows,” you said shaking your head. Dinner was ready and everyone was already at the table. The door finally clicked open and in came Xiumin and Hyunshik holding ice creams in their hand.
“Are you kidding me?” you pouted.
“Opps sorry,” Both of them tried to hide the cones behind their backs. You looked at them furiously for their failed attempt and demanded that they give them to you. They obliged and the next second, the ice creams were in the trash. You couldn’t help but giggle on the inside though. Xiumin sat down with the other EXO members while you wiped Hyunshik’s chocolate covered face.
The members stayed long after, playing games, taking pictures and helping you clean up. It was a fun night. It always was when they all came. You and Xiumin got so busy with your work life that you hardly ever had fun. Hyunshik barely spent any time with you guys. This is why little promises like going to the park and having gatherings meant a lot to him.
**********************************************************
You and Xiumin lay in bed scrolling through the pictures from that night. Everybody looked so joyous. You couldn’t help but notice the matching twinkle in your husband and your child’s eyes.
“Thank you,” you blurted out of the blue.
“Thank you? For what?” Xiumin asked.
“For all of this!” you said.
“What do you mean?”
“For treating him like your own,” you said, looking away.
“He is my son,” Xiumin said pulling you closer.
“I know! I know,” you replied. He hugged you tightly and gave you a kiss on your temple. You couldn’t be more thankful to him for coming into your life and accepting you after your husband left you with a two month old son. You were more than grateful that your son had a father he could look up to. Xiumin and Hyunshik were the two best things that had ever happened to you.

“Every time she tried to take one step forward he pulled her two steps back…”

“Excuse me ma’am! Would you take a picture of my wife and I?” a handsome young man asked you. You were so engrossed in preparing your song that you almost jumped at his sudden appearance. You glanced at him and his beautiful wife. The way his fingers danced around her waist and the way the smile on her face was forever unfading you could tell that they were newly wedded. “Oh sure,” you said, taking the camera from his hand. Their faces were lit with happiness– a happiness you were not quite familiar with, yourself.
“Thank you,” the young man said, taking the camera back from you. You gave the couple, your biggest smile before settling down once again to practice the song. There were people everywhere- all around you. You occasionally glanced at them. It made you happy to see them happy. Of course it was not the first time you were playing piano at a wedding. You had done it many times before but that day seemed special. People seemed extra happy. You shook your hand lightly, at your charmed thoughts and once again began to exercise your fingers.
Time flew by quickly. The soft morning breezes turned into afternoon gusts. In just a few moments the groom was going to enter the room. People were going to congratulate him and then everybody would anticipate the bride’s arrival. Guests had started to settle. Some looked calm while others were whispering impatiently.
The sound of the door creaking caught everyone’s attention. “It must be the groom,” a young lady from behind said. She was shushed by her momma very vivaciously. You straightened your back, took a deep breath and within a few moments your hands began running along the keys. A tender muse filled the air which quite complimented the light head movements from the persons present. The sound of footsteps mixed with the sound of music created a sweet rhythm. You closed your eyes to picture the song in your mind. The footsteps stopped. You knew the groom had reached the stage. You could feel his presence too. Then very slowly, you opened your eyes to see who the lucky bachelor for that night was. Your gaze fell on him and…
And … there in that moment you felt a slight tinge of pain in your heart. A misty smile conquered your face. It was only a reflection of the indescribable feeling you felt. ‘Of course,’ – you thought to yourself as a chuckle took you. You turned your face back to the piano to avoid eye contact with him. You knew you would have to do that for the rest of the night.
Your eyes shut once again as you tried to picture the melody in your head. It was hard this time. Memories from the past were escaping the tightly locked doors and presenting themselves to you on a gold platter. You twitched a little, at their atrocious act but there was nothing you could do but to accept them. Then, finally you smiled to ease the wrinkles off of your forehead.

Four Years ago:
You felt uneasy in the new atmosphere. Your mind cursed your advisor for telling you last minute that you had to take another math class before you could sign up for your major. “What’s wrong?” you heard your friend ask. You looked at her strangely, unable to comprehend her words. You were too preoccupied in your thoughts. “Are .. you.. okay?” she asked once again putting emphasis on each word. “Yeah…ye! I’m fine,” you replied with a slight shake of the head. She leaned in a little closer to you as if ready to whisper some very secretive words. “That tall handsome stud sitting two rows behind us… hasn’t taken his eyes off of you for a long time,” she ended with her classic smirk. You waited for a few seconds before turning around to see who it was. That minute you knew your friend has thought wrong. The guy was perfection. Why would he be staring at you? You smiled awkwardly at him and turned around to give your friend a good spanking.
“You think he was staring at me?” you asked.
“Ahan,” she nodded boldly.
“Oh Lily what will I ever do about you?” You shook your head. The professor walked again. Class started and everything that had happened was forgotten.
You thought you had put the subject to rest but ever since Lily mentioned that hot stud, you had been seeing him everywhere. The two of you would make awkward eye contact and then quickly look away. It was getting out of control. You took Lily in confidence and told her what had been happening. He was literally everywhere. You had started to feel a connection with him. You could tell that he knew you and you him but the only problem was- the two of you had never talked to each other.
“Should I talk to him?” you asked Lily out of frustration.
“Talk to him… ah yeeahh of course!” she encouraged you.
“But what will I say?” you asked. “We don’t know each other. It will be awkward if I just randomly say something. Aren’t guys supposed to take the first step?”
“They are… the world is changing. Make the first move. He basically stares at you as if he wants to talk to might as well give it a shot.”
“But if he does look at me all the time why doesn’t he just come talk to me. I don’t bite.”
“He doesn’t know that… and besides… he might be too shy.” Lily held your hand to give you a slight push. She knew you could do it. If you never asked you would never know the answer.
“Okay,” you finally announced. You were going to do what many wouldn’t have dared to.
The next day you walked into class rehearsing your lines. You were going to ask him to help you with a math problem. What guy would not want to help a girl who is stuck with a problem. You smiled confidently and walked up to him. Not many people were there. He was an early bird and so were you.
“Hey,” you said from behind. He turned around as if he knew you were going to ask him something. Your confidence started to flush out when he looked at you straight in the eye.
“Your name is …Kris! Right?” you asked.
“Ah yeah,” he replied rather enthusiastically.
“I was wondering if you could help me with a problem.” You asked. You could tell that your face was bright red and your hands were shaking. You clenched the seat near you, tightly hoping he wouldn’t see it.
People had started to come in and the room was getting crowded. “How about we meet somewhere else?” he asked.
“Where?” you asked, dazed by his bold step.
“The coffee shop near the library around 1 o clock? Here take my number and I will text you when I get there okay?” He had said so much in such a little time that your brain could not comprehend much. He took your phone and saved his number in it.
**************************************************
You sat in the coffee shop waiting for his arrival. It was almost 1:30. You knew he would have a good reason for being that late. He looked like such a gentleman. Your phone buzzed. It was a message from him. ‘Hey really sorry but I won’t be able to make it. Maybe some other time?’
That’s it. That’s all he had said. You felt like a fool for thinking he would actually show up. He would actually help you. Then you calmed yourself. He could have gotten busy with something serious. He said he would help you later so now all you had to do was wait for him to message you again. You texted him back telling him to let you know when he was available.
You were good in math. Smarter than many. You didn’t need his help but you just wanted him to be there because deep down you had started to believe a fairytale. He liked you, you liked him – end of story. You thought you had done him a favor by talking to him and so the rest was up to him. He had to be the one to make an effort and talk again.
After that day, the two of looked at each other but neither or you said a word. You wanted to ask him if he would ever text you back but that would make you look desperate. You did not want that. Days passed by and nothing happened. He acted like somehow that day had never happened. You had never talked to him. He had never texted you. It bothered you. You told yourself you hated him but your heart whispered ‘no you don’t.’ It was killing you.
Then slowly you started to curse yourself for even daring to think a guy as handsome as him could ever like you. You thought of many alternatives. He could have a staring problem. He wasn’t good at math so he didn’t want to embarrass himself. He had feelings for someone else. And so on and so forth. You had decided to forget about it all together. It was a good that things had ended before they started…
************************************************
2 months later:
You sat under the moonlight looking up at the stars for answers to all your questions. The test you had failed earlier that week, on top of your friends ditching you to go see a movie and than your car breaking down last minute. All the little things had added up creating a huge lump in your heart. You wanted to let it all out. You wanted to cry but you were also afraid someone would see you. Sitting outside your own dorm building was not exactly the bed place to cry your heart out and expect no one to notice. You glanced at your watch. It was almost two in the morning. You were safe. You could cry and no one would be there. And so you let a tear drop from your eye. It felt good on the inside. More came gushing out and then within a few seconds you were crying.
“I don’t know what to do,” you said, burying your face in your hands. So much had happened in the past semester that you felt your strength fading. You felt weak.
A long time passed by. Your bear arms reacted fiercely to the cheering wind. You lifted your head and there in that moment you froze. Kris stood a few feet away staring at you. How long had he been there – you had no idea. He moved an inch towards you but then you felt his body stiffen.
You quickly wiped your tears still in your heart hoping he would stop you. He didn’t. You had stopped complaining too. There was no use getting mad at yourself or whoever wrote your faith because if it was not meant to be than it would never happen. What made you mad was the fact that he randomly acted like he knew you and the next second he acted like he didn’t. He played with your heart all the time. You had spent two months trying to forget about him and now he had brought you back to day 1. You hated his mysterious side…
******************************************************
Present day:
The room fell silent when someone announced the arrival of the bride. “She’s coming, she’s coming…” they said. You stopped playing the piano also bringing yourself back to reality. Up till then you had done a great job of hiding your face from the groom. You were not scared of his reaction. You were just afraid of making eye contact with him because just not looking at him hurt so much so you could only imagine how you would feel if something happened otherwise.
The door opened once again. That was your queue. You began playing the piano once again. The bride was beyond beautiful. Her face, her body, her eyes, her smile… they were all a definition of perfection. You looked at her and then glanced at Kris from the corner of your eyes. The couple hadn’t taken their eyes off of each other for once. They both looked so madly in love. You had moved on in life but there was still a part of you that was hurting. It came naturally. You were not jealous of the bride. You didn’t hate him either but …but that feeling was still there. You hated it.
The wedding ceremony passed by fairly slowly. You looked at the clock. Only five more minutes before you could leave that place forever. Those five minutes were taking forever. People started to get up. Words of congratulations were being thrown around. People were clapping, dancing and cheering. They all looked so happy. You got up, fixed the wrinkles on your plain dress, tucked your hair back and began to walk out.
.
.
“Excuse me!” you heard someone say from behind. You were not sure if that person was talking to you but nevertheless you stopped.
“You play the piano really well,” he said. Now you knew he was talking to you. You turned around enthusiastically but froze the second you saw his face and he yours. His mouth dropped for a slipt of a second but he quickly stabilized himself.
“Thank…Thank you …very much!” he said with a bright but forced smile. You, who still had not recovered from his sudden appearance stood there frozen. He looked at you and you at him.
“Make yourself comfortable!” you heard him say and then he left. That’s it. That is all he said. You spent all this time trying to hide yourself when he didn’t even remember you. He had done it again. But this time you were glad. Now you would never have to worry, thinking about him. He belonged to someone else.
With that, you slowly made your way out of the church.
*****************************************************
.
He stood near the window watching you leave. All he ever wished for was to apologize for that day and tell you that he did care. He was just too scared…

You hid behind a small wall but your head was still showing. The barrier was just big enough for you to cover yourself. Sweat beads formed on your forehead as you waited for the enemy to attack. They were faster, stronger and more experienced. You hadn’t been on the field in almost 6 months. Your practice was tarnished. You tried to block out the background noise so you could focus on the footsteps. You heard some. They were rushing from one corner to the other. You wanted to look up and see if anyone was coming for you but it was too dangerous. If you caught someone’s eye you could be dead.
“Aha!” someone said jumping almost on top of you. You looked up and found Chanyeol hovering over you.
“Shhhhhh!!” you pulled him down. “We are on the same time. Can’t you see the colors?”
“What? Oh yeah,” he said as you smacked his forehead.
“And you’re too big. Get your own corner. They will find us.”
“That’s the point. Stop hiding and go fight.” With that said, Chanyeol pulled you up. Just then you heard a beep. Someone from afar had tagged you.
“Are you freaking kidding me,” you shouted pushing Chanyeol from you. “Look what you did.” You heard another beep and Chanyeol got tagged too. He shrugged his shoulders and soon disappeared in the dark. You had to find a safe space to let your wounded shield heal. As soon as it recharged you jumped back into the field. You weren’t going to hide anymore. It was time to defeat the enemies!
Sehun came running towards you but you tagged him before he could even lift his gun. Just then Luhan came from behind. You elbowed him and then used your gun to tag him.
“What the heck that’s not allowed. You can’t elbow me,” he pulled you by the shoulder.
“Too bad,” you giggled and ran away.
The game was getting more intense than expected. You saw Suho panicking and running away from everyone. You regretted the moment you chose him for your team. He had very cunningly convinced you that he was a pro at laser tag. He clearly wasn’t.
“Suho oppa stop running away,” you said reaching his little hiding corner.
“They’ll get me if I don’t,” he replied.
“Well we won’t be getting any points if you don’t attack them,” you said and just like Chanyeol had picked you up, you did the same to Suho. You heard Baekhyun and Kris behind you. Kris yelled in frustration as he got tagged. You jumped in excitement since your team was getting more points. Baekhyun high fived you before moving on to the next person. You moved swiftly from corner to corner, helping your team mates and protecting others. There were less than thirty seconds left. You moved away from your barrier to see if anyone was coming. Suddenly, you felt someone yank your jacket from behind. “Muahahahaha,” he laughed. You immediately knew who it was. “Chen!” you mumbled as he turned you around. “I got you this time,” he said and raised his gun to tag you. Just then you heard a beep and bam!- Chen was tagged. You looked at his shocked face and then both of you turned your head to the right. Lay stood elegantly, pretending to blow the smoke off of his gun.
“Wohooooo,” you cheered and loosened yourself from Chen’s grip. The robotic voice in the background revealed the winner which was obviously your team. Your team mates gathered around jumping in excitement watching the other team with their lowered heads.
The victors walked out while the losers followed close behind. You turned around with your excited self, smiling condescendingly at the team who had bragged about being the best at laser tag.
“Alright guys, time to do your dares,” you said clapping your hands. The dares had already been decided for the losing team by you and the other team members.
Kris – had to get down on his knees and sing a love song to whoever walked into the game center next.
Luhan – had to dance to Gee in front of everybody
Tao – do gwiyomi and post it on his weibo
Sehun – walk up to a random girl, hold a girl’s hand, and say “…….”
Chen – had to pay for everybody
Xiumin – had to roll into a ball and start whining
“Alright Kris, let’s do this,” Chanyeol said and pushed him forward. Kris glared at all of you but he was also a man of his words. He walked to the entrance and sat down on one knee as if about to propose to someone. Till then, he had kept his elegant grace but seeing people around him, whispering and staring he started to feel self conscious. He turned around, making a puppy dog face so you guys would release him his punishment but everyone stayed put. He closed his eyes and opened them again taking a deep sigh. The door slightly opened. The members jumped on top of each other anxiously, looking to see who would walk in. In the very next second everyone began to laugh as an old grumpy man walked in. Kris’s eyes widened in surprise. He stared into the man’s eyes who could only imagine what was about to happen. Kris blinked repeatedly and then very hesitantly took the man’s hand.
“Hey hey hey what are you doing?” the man shouted, trying to pull his hand away. Kris didn’t let go. He held it even more tightly.
“I lost my mind Noreul choeummannasseultte No hanappego modeungoseun Get in slow motion….”
“Are you crazy?” the old man smacked Kris’s forehead which caused him to fall back. “I am fine sir,” he replied and began singing once again.
“Crazy lad!,” the old man mumbled grumpily and walked away. Kris turned around with a tomato red face, only to find all of you holding your stomachs while laughing.
“I hate all of you,” he said walking back and also hiding his face from the public.
Luhan was up next. His pale skin turned light pink, complementing his darkish pink hair. Lay dragged him in the middle of the game room and you turned on the music on your phone. Luhan sighed and began dancing. He wouldn’t look at anyone in the eye. His gaze was fixed on the floor as he moved. A small crowd soon gathered- mostly girls and some older boys. Their laughter was overshadowing the music. He couldn’t hear it anymore.
“Waaaeeeee!!” he stopped and yelled. You could see a twinkle in his eyes which was clearly because of the tears that were forming. You pushed Lay to go get him. He had had enough for the day.
“We better win next time,” Luhan said to Kris while grinding his teeth. Kyungsoo and Kai laughed secretly which earned them an intense glare from a grief ridden Luhan.
Tao and Chen were up next. Chen opened his wallet and laughed.
“Ohh hahaha.. I don’t have any money,” he scratched his head. “I must have left it back at the dorm.”
“Really???” Suho eyed him. “Then why do I see money hanging down your sleeve?” Suho pulled Chen’s sleeve up and all the money fell on the floor.
“Aaaaish,” Chen grunted picking it up one by one.
“Looks like now you have enough to pay for dinner too,” you winked at him. Chen advanced towards you in a threatening sort of motion. You hid behind Lay to protect yourself.
“I will get you one day _________,” Chen said squinting his eyes.
“We’ll see,” you stuck out your tongue. Chen held back his smile and went ahead to pay.
“Tao you’re up,” Baekhyun patted his shoulder.
“NO worries, guys I already put it up,” Tao said showing his phone to all of you. He really had put a video of him doing gwyiomi. While all of you were laughing about Luhan’s situation, Tao was doing his job in the back.
“He got a lot of likes too! .. aish.. he got the easiest one,” Kai whined. Tao laughed, scrolling down his screen watching all the girls comment about how awesome he looked. The plan had backfired.
Everybody turned to Xiumin. He quickly held his stomach and pretended to look sick.
“Guys I think I may be getting a stomach ache,” he said.
“You were fine five minutes ago,” Suho commented.
“Yeah I know, I was just..” Xiumin began to explain.
“He’s bluffing,” Luhan and Chanyeol said at the same time.
“No I’m not,” Xiumin defended himself. “And you’re on my team Luhan!”
“Liaaarrrr,” Baekhyun and Kai cried this time. Look at your hands. They aren’t even on your stomach anymore. Xiumin didn’t realize that he had changed his position while getting mad at Luhan.
“Aaawwwooooch,” he tried to pretend holding his stomach again.
“Yeah yeah,” you said and pulled him by the arm towards the center of the room. “Off you go oppa,“ you clapped just to annoy him some more. He closed his eyes and lay on the ground, then he pulled his legs up close to his chest forming a ball like position with his body.
“Now rock,” Chanyeol commanded to his hyung. Xiumin began rocking back and forth creating baby sounds. Only you guys knew how ridiculously funny a 24 year old man doing such a crazy thing looked. A woman who was walking out of the building with her son stopped half way, turned around and walked up to Xiumin.
“Ooo ohh,” everybody cried.
The lady put her hand on Xiumin’s shoulder. He almost jumped when he opened his eyes to find a woman shoving her face onto him.
“Are you okay?” she asked. Xiumin took his thumb out of his mouth, really embarrassed at his situation.
“Ah ye,” he said getting up.
“Do you need help finding someone?” the lady asked. She had started to think Xiumin had a mental disability. “Oh no no! I am fine,” Xiumin replied, making sure to not make any eye contact with her. The lady looked him up and down, as he walked back towards you guys.
“Happy?” he pouted and folded his arms standing in front of all of you. The members and you nodded back obediently. You guys were more than amused.
Sehunnie was the next and also the last one. Chanyeol clapped his hands in excitement because he had been anticipating this one. It was his idea after all. Sehun, like the other members did not whine. He seemed more than calm.
“Go sehun oppa,” you said to him. He smirked at you and pushed everyone out of the way so he could find a girl. His target was soon locked. He causally walked up to her and tapped on her shoulder. The girl turned around and was almost stunned, being approached by such a handsome boy. Sehun became a little nervous too since he had no idea the girl was that pretty. Sehun held her hand in his and looked straight into her eyes.
The girl looked at him nervously but also anticipated his words. Sehun did not smile for one second. He had the same lame expression on his face as he always had. He was sort of mad that you guys had asked him to say such an immature statement but a dare was a dare and he had to do it. He took a deep breath and finally said, “I am gay for Chinese men…”.
The air around them fell silent. The girl couldn’t register what he had said. She felt as if he was insulting her.
“Aaaaaaish pabo!!!” she cried and pushed him back. Sehun tried to call her back to apologize and tell her that it was a dare. She didn’t listen for one second and ran into the pool of people.
Sehun glanced at you guys who were watching everything at a distance. Everyone began to clap as Sehun walked back with a much disappointed and embarrassed face.
“You seemed pretty confident,” Lay commented.
“Don’t start with me,” he said as he walked through all of you once again.
The dares were finished. Six out of twelve members had embarrassed themselves to an extent, that day. You adored all of them very much for always bringing laughter and staying true to their words. If you didn’t have them in your life, your life would have been very different.

I was supposed to finish this over the weekend but I got super lazy. I just received a very bad news before finishing this so it is very chunky and all over the place. I’ll try to make changes later but for now I hope you guys like this :)

Kris nuzzled on to your neck. He could feel your hands shaking, as you hid them under the small covers. He looked over at the side of your face. Your eyes were fixed on the TV screen and fear was written clearly on your face. He slid his hand down your arm, which you grabbed greedily to hold on to.
“If you’re scared we can stop watching this,” he mumbled as he planted a kiss on your neck.
“Scared? What? No no I’m fine,” you said in a hushed tone. He smiled at your failed attempt to convince him that you were not scared.
“You clearly are,” he said pushing you from on top of him. You turned around to face him. A mischievous smile took his lips.
“What?” you asked, hitting him on his chest lightly. He shook his head, still smiling and then held your hands.
“I love you, you know that right?” he said, and kissed your hands. You nodded back with a shy smile. Kris was being weird again but nevertheless, you liked he when he occasionally told you that he loved you.
****************************************************
That night, it had begun to thunderstorm outside. Your weak heart was panicking, thinking about where Kris could be. He had left, after watching the movie saying he had to meet the boys. He usually did that but he never came back this late. It was almost past midnight. You looked at your phone in frustration. There was no point calling him. He hadn’t answered your past five calls or tons of messages.
Suddenly, the screen began flashing. He was finally calling you. You picked up the phone and just when you began to yell, a distant and weak voice cut you. “________! I’m sorry,” Kris said.
“Kris!” you whispered his name. “Are you okay?”
“Aaaaaaahhh,” he cried and then there was complete silence. You heart sank. The hair on your body rose.
“Kris! Krissss… oppaa are you okay???” you asked again and again. There was no response except the faint beeping. You rushed to your window and slid the curtains to the side. The only visible light was the small street lamp in the far corner. Nothing could be seen except the heavy rain creating ripples in the small puddles.
“Oppaaaa!” you whimpered. Tears rolled down your cheeks, quite similar to the raindrops racing down the windowpane.
You began looking for your shoes and an umbrella. You had to go find him. Right when you were about to leave your room you heard your front door open and then shut tightly.
“Oppa!” you said happily and began to rush out. There was no response. As soon as you stepped into the hallway the lights went out. “Oppa!” you said- but this time a lot more scared then the first time. You could hear footsteps and the faint sound of a dripping raincoat. Kris didn’t own a raincoat. You began to take steps back into your room. You grabbed the first thing you saw and ran into a corner.
The man in the coat walked into the room. You were curled up beside the night stand. He couldn’t see you. He moved his head from side to side, as if trying to sniff the air for a human’s presence. His behavior was very animal like- just like the murderer from the movie.
You held onto the fragile object, drinking your own tears as they gushed out of your eyes. Whoever this man was, was surely there to kill you. And that call you just received? Nothing made sense. You were worried about Kris and you were also worried about your own life.
The man began walking towards the side of the bed, closest to you. You scrunched your legs even more but you knew it wasn’t going to help. Another step, and he would be able to see you clearly. You closed your eyes and rested your head against your knee. The footsteps grew closer. He had seen you. His pace became faster.
“Aaa,” you let out a scream when he held you and pulled you up viciously. His grip was firm. It tightened even more as he brought you closer to himself. You could feel his warm breath on your face. Your eyes were tightly shut.
“Krisss,” you whispered one last time before that monster could kill you. Just then you heard a cheerful laugh. The grip loosened and the person pushed you back. The laugh was awfully similar. You opened your eyes and looked up. Kris was standing before you, laughing hysterically at your scared face.
“Oppa???” you gasped in shock.
“Got you,” he said clapping and jumping. As you slowly gained your senses your fear turned into anger. You pushed him angrily and began to walk away. He had gone too far this time. But he held you and pulled you back. “Why are you mad? I thought you weren’t scared of anything?” he asked.
“Are you stupid?” you asked in return and also smacked his forehead lightly. “You nearly killed me. …And what was that whole phone call thing? I was so worried about you. …” Tears were still rolling down your cheeks. “I hate you so much Kris,” you said. He pressed your face against his chest so you could cry all you want to. You held on to him so tightly, that he had trouble breathing. “I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.” You repeated.
“I’m sorry,” you heard him say.
“Yeah! You better be,” you mumbled.
“But you have to admit, it was pretty cool right? And and.. did you see how the lights went out.”
“How did you do that?” you asked.
“I don’t know. I was quite surprised myself but it helped me even more,” he shrugged his shoulders. Just then, both you and him jumped at the piercing sound of thunder. That was soon followed by lots of laughter.

This one is pretty short too but hey I actually wrote two scenarios this week. Give me some credit. [ I promise it’ll get better once I get done with this semester. I hope ya’ll like this :)
I can totally imagine Kris being a troll but extremely sweet at the same time.

You smile blandly thinking about how easily she had let the friendship between the two of you slip. No official statements or direct cutting remarks, just silences along with avoidance in eye contact were enough to say that she had chosen her over you. You told yourself it was your fault. You were the one who must have messed things up like all the other times. Why else would everyone hate you? Why else would every relationship you treasured just fall apart?
“No matter how hard life is, always look at the bright side of things, my love,” your mother used to say.
“I do mom,” you whispered to the silent, empty room as you lay in your bed. You truly missed her that day. A tear trickled down your face and fell on the pillow. ‘Oh I’m crying…’ you thought to yourself, forcing a smile on your face. “It’s not that hard _______. Things like these always happen.” You tried to make yourself feel better but only your heart knew what it felt. It ached because you were lonely. It ached because you were hurt…
***************************************************
You knocked on the screen of your phone in annoyance. It was the third time since that morning it froze on you. The snow had come unannounced in the middle of April. It had started to pile up everywhere, making it hard for you to walk. You were already ten minutes late and your phone wouldn’t corporate with your situation either. You shoved it back into your coat pocket and increased your pace this time.
Your adjusted your rapid breathing upon reaching the door of SMENT. You had only opened it half way when you were pulled back viciously.
“Can’t you see me standing right behind you?” Luhan said angrily. Your head spun and you felt dizzy due to the sudden shaking of your body.
“I’m sorry,” was all you could say still trying to adjust yourself.
“Well next time, make sure you let me enter first,” he snarled.
“Yes Sir,” you nodded rapidly.
“____________!” you heard an angry voice from across the lobby. “Where have you been all morning?”
“Aaa.. I was trying to call..” you said taking out your phone and knocking on the screen once again.
“If you are not going to take this job seriously, I’m going to look for someone much better than. Do you get that?” the manager roared, pulling you with him. You had barely gained your senses and now this. You turned around to look at Luhan. He was looking at you. You wished he wasn’t. Because the condescending smile fixed on his face was doing nothing more than hurting you.
The manager handed you the plan for the next three weeks but what worried you was the party you had to organize for that night. 6 hours notice was not enough to get everything into place. You hurried out the building as soon as he released you. The clock was ticking faster than usual that day.
*******************************************************
“You got the cheapest flowers? Are you okay?” the manager yelled, taking you into a corner.
“There wasn’t enough money left,” you said timidly. He was ready to yell once again but something else caught his attention. You felt your blood flowing once again, when he let go off of your arm. You were about to move when the door behind you opened, pushing you forward. “Why were you standing right outside the men’s bathroom?” Luhan asked with annoyance. You looked up at his shiny silver hair and perfect features.
“Aaa.. the..” you blurted incoherent words.
“Look at yourself. Is this what someone wears to a party?” he questioned with harsh words. He began to walk away but something stopped him. As if what he had said wasn’t enough. He came near you stopping only inches away. He smiled looking at down at you. “I don’t like the way you look at me,” he whispered. The smile had disappeared. You could see hatred and disgust in his eyes. It didn’t surprise you at all. You had seen it before-many times. ‘Why?’ – you would always ask yourself but no answer would come. Luhan’s eyes fell on your wrist. He twitched wanting to take a second look but you pulled your sleeve down. You were scared of making a move. If you tried to walk away he would be mad. If you stayed he would come up with something else to insult you with. The world would never be happy with you. Luhan eased your problem by walking away himself.
As much as you didn’t want to, you were required to hang around until the party ended. You took a look at your shabby clothes and then compared yourself to all the other pretty girls at the party. They looked beautiful. They all had boyfriends and they all had friends. You were lonely and broken and had no one to talk to. You glanced at Luhan from time to time. His fingers danced on a pretty girls shoulder as they moved to the sounds of the beat. It bothered you to see them together but you scolded your heart for even going down that lane. Having secret feelings for someone had cost you a lot in the past. Your heart didn’t understand though. It had begun to like Luhan since the day you saw him. You however kept telling yourself the lie that it was far from true.

That night you lay in bed, once again thinking about all the wrong things that life had done to you. Then you smiled, like always- telling yourself it wasn’t that bad. Things could be a lot worse. So what if you had no friends left and so what if your workplace wasn’t the best place to be it. You had to survive as long as you could. Life is such a beautiful gift, how could you just throw it away like that?
What you didn’t know was that, your heart had plans of its own- plans that would come unannounced…
******************************************************
You arrived at work extra early the next day, just to be on the safe side. Some of the Exo members were already there. You had never talked to any of them before. You didn’t ever make an effort to either, because you assumed they would treat you exactly the way Luhan treated you.
You placed all your files on the bench outside their practice room and sat down. You sleep deprived eyes began to shut as you rested your head against the wall.
You woke up to the sound of doors opening and closing. You panicked looking at your watch. Thirty minutes had passed in just a few seconds. Hurriedly, you grabbed everything and ran to the manager’s room.
Luhan walked out of the practice room. Something caught his eye. He stopped, turned around and looked at the small brown diary on the bench.
“What is this doing over here?” he talked to himself also staring the object in surprise. He picked it up and went back into the practice room. He wouldn’t allow anyone in the world to read his personal journal. Then it hit him. He had seen you sitting on the bench a while ago. Luhan ran in the direction of you room. He banged the door open looking at you furiously. You trembled at the sight before you.
“If you ever.. ever.. ever..” he advanced towards you like a lion coming out of his den. “touch my things again you have no idea what I’ll do to you.”
“What do you mean?” you asked in a shaky voice.
“Don’t play innocent on me you little rat..”
“LUHAN!” you yelled. You could never imagine him saying such a word. He was a lot of things but he was never go to such extent.
“Don’t yell at me!” he said. His lips quivered with anger. Both you and he heard someone’s footsteps coming towards your room. It was the manager.
“I don’t want her here in this building anymore,” Luhan said to manager sternly.
“What do you mean?” the manager asked seeing the two of you together.
“I just don’t want her here,” Luhan said, this time a little louder. You looked at the two men in horror, trying your best to stop the tears from gushing out of your eyes.
“________ I’ll figure this out later. Will you please leave right now?” the manager said patiently, making way for you to go. You looked at him and then at Luhan. His anger hadn’t subsided. He was still mad- very mad. The worst part about the whole situation was that you didn’t even know what your crime was.
Your eyes burnt as you blinked, giving your tears the best chance to fall out of your eyes. You wiped it quickly, and picked up all your belongings. It was time that you left- forever…
****************************************************
Luhan lay in his bed holding the journal. A lot had happened that day that needed to be added to his list of achievements. He stared at the unfamiliar hand writing on the first page. His heart sank and his pupils widened, as he flipped through the pages. It wasn’t his journal. He flipped back to the first page to see who it belonged to. His scrunched his nose as he saw your name scribbled on the first page.
“What have I done?” he whispered to himself. A long time passed and he still couldn’t register all that he had done. He picked up the journal once again and began flipping through the pages but this time much slowly, staring at the pages blankly. Then suddenly something caught his eyes. Words. Words that looked familiar.
‘He said that I looked at him weird. Now how can I compete with that when I don’t even know what it means? It’s not his fault for thinking me weird. I am different…’
He flipped to much earlier entries to make sense of what you may be talking about.
Aug 9th-
‘She doesn’t know I saved her from getting caught that night. I took the blame because I know she wouldn’t do such a thing. She is too innocent. How could she? And besides it’s just a onetime thing. I’ll get in next year. She deserved it more anyways.’
Sept 12th-
‘I see our friendship dying with everything but I feel like I am the only one who cares. She doesn’t and I know that but even in this I may be at fault. How can she ever be wrong? I am always the one to screw things up. She says she has found better friends and I am happy for her but it bothers me sometimes because I get lonely too. Don’t I deserve a nice friend too?’
Sept 13th –
‘Mom, I miss you today. Why are you so far away? Why did you have to leave so early?’
Sept 25th-
‘Am I really this worthless that everybody pushes me around? I keep trying to look at the bright side of things but it’s all just a lie. I see happy couples around me all the time. It reminds me of him. I wish I had told him how I felt… He would have been nicer to me .. at least nicer than L****.

You stared at the blood dripping from the light cut you had given yourself. A tear fell from your eyes, adding itself to the trail of red liquid trickling down your wrist.
“It has come to this,” you mumbled to yourself.
‘You don’t have to do this…’ –the voice from inside told you.
“It’s not like anyone would care.”
‘They care! You just don’t know it yet…’
“It doesn’t matter anymore,” you replied, proceeding with a second violent touch of the knife with your skin. You were going to finish the job tonight, hoping to not see the next day light.
********************************************************
Luhan skipped back to the most recent journal entry. It was longer than your usual ones. His heart was racing a little even when he was trying his best to calm himself.
Oct 1st-
‘For the first time today I let myself cry. I can’t take it anymore. It hurts too much. It hurts me to see him with other girls. He dances with them, he touches them in ways I can’t express. I don’t like him..or at least that’s what I tell my heart. But all these bottled up feelings have finally started to come out. He said that I looked at him weird. Now how can I compete with that when I don’t even know what it means? It’s not his fault for thinking me weird. I am stupid… I’m starting to become cynical. Things like these didn’t bother me. I used to smile. I used to laugh. Than what happened? Why am I always like this now? Why does it feel better when I… I’ve lost everybody I loved. My mother, my one and only friend..and now my heart is secretly falling for a man he seems me as nothing more but trash. Tell me.. am I so worthless? She never calls me back when I call her now. I want to tell someone how I feel but there’s no one. I don’t like the sun.. I don’t like the birds chirping, the flowers.. It breaks my heart to see them so happy when I smile to cover up my dry tears. I’ve pretended too long. I’m tired now.. Why can’t all of this be over already? Life is a gift but I don’t want it anymore…
“Oh no oh no! what have I done? How could I be so stupid?” Luhan panicked. His eyes fell on the calendar. It was Oct 2nd. Your last entry was from the night before…

Someone shook you with trembling hands. He then pressed his ears against your chest. “You’re going to be alright okay?” he kept humming as he picked you up and that’s when you completely lost consciousness.

“You’re going to be alright okay? You’re going to be alright okay?” your ears buzzed with the same phrase over and over and over. You closed your eyes as soon as you opened them. The light was too bright. It hurt your eyes.
You felt someone’s hand brush against yours. It was soft. His voice was even softer. “Open your eyes,” he was saying. You struggled for a long time but finally gathered enough courage to try once more. This time, the light was blocked by a familiar face over your head.
“Lu..han,” you whispered.
“Shhhh,” he said sitting beside you. He took your hand and ran his fingers on your bandaged wrist. You felt a tear drop on your hand. You knew it belonged to him but you didn’t dare look at him. What happened? How he came to save you? How did he know you were about to kill yourself? All these questions were revolving around in your head but you couldn’t ask him. You were mad at him for saving you but your heart was grateful. You hadn’t forgiven him but your heart had.
Luhan looked at you with loving eyes, wanting to ask you so many questions. Wanting to tell you that you wouldn’t have to be sad anymore. He was going to remain by your side, not out of pity but because he cared about you maybe even falling in love with you. But he knew his words would not fix anything. He had to show it and that’s all he was going to do from them on…

Lots of mixed emotions running around in this scenario. I feel like those who have been in similar situations would be able to understand it more. People who are sad on the inside always cover up with a smile and keep denying that they are unhappy. They blame themselves for all the problems and sometimes even get annoyed at themselves for being so needy. [If you are one of those people please go out there and talk to anyone. Be it a stranger or not. If you suppress your feelings or keep them bottled up inside you, bad things can happen.]
The scenario is a little chunky and different from my usual scenarios because I’ve put lots of personal emotions into it. I apologize if I let you down with this or if this isn’t what you wanted anon but I also really hope that you like it. :)

A shudder ran through your body when your hand touched his. You turned to look who it was. ‘Oh it’s him’- the tall dark haired guy who had just returned from China; that’s all you knew about him. When you first started working with Exo, for last minute additions to their upcoming album, Kris wasn’t there. You were a little more than surprised when you found out that he was a part of the group too and as a matter of fact, the leader of the Exo M. The first encounter with him was more uncomfortable than you had expected. Instead of greeting you politely, he presented himself with a strange expression planted on his face. He neither said a word, nor moved a single muscle in his body. All he did, was to stare at you, with such intensity that you started to feel insecure.
“Sorry,” he mumbled while stopping for less than a second. You rubbed your hand where your skin had made contact with his. You didn’t like the tingles it felt.
“You’re fine,” you replied to the empty room. He had left faster than you could even utter the first letter of your phrase.
*************************************************
You stood outside the in the small balcony that opened to the front of the building. All the fan girls had left a long time ago. The area was empty and quite. The dark sky was slowly turning a lighter shade of violet. You heard the door slide behind you and someone entering the small space. You scoot to the side to let them stand next to you.
“Are you tired?” he asked. Your ears perked at the familiar voice but you didn’t dare move your head. You saw his side profile from the corner of your eyes. He was tall, much taller than you.
“No,” you replied in a barely audible voice. The air seemed to be getting heavier around you two. Both of stood in deep silence admiring the bluish streaks in the sky. It was so beautiful that you felt your hair raising. “Aren’t you tired?” you asked him.
You heard him chuckle a little as he turned to face you. You were unsure of what to do. It scared you to look at him. He was too intimidating and what your heart felt when he gazed at you was beyond describable. You stood firm in your position while he looked at you in awe. “I’m not tired…I’m just worried…a little,” he said.
“Worried?” you looked at him in surprise. The dark circles under his eyes over shadowed his bright but tired smile.
“When they said last minute changes, I had no idea they wanted me to sing a ballad,” he covered his eyes with his hands. Your tensed muscles began to relax. “Do I look like a ballad singer to you? I don’t understand why they’re making me do this?”
“That’s your worry?” you asked, trying your best to sound comforting. He nodded finally taking his hands off of his face. “You will be fine,” you smiled encouragingly but avoiding his eyes. “I’ll help you. Don’t worry about it okay?” He nodded again but he was still unsure about everything.

Three days later:
You stood in the studio waiting for Luhan, Chen and Kris to show up. In the few weeks you had been working with them, they had never been late. This was the first time. You assumed it would be because of Kris. He was really unsure about the whole situation.
“Sorry, we’re late,” Luhan said as he hurriedly entered the room. Kris and Chen followed close behind.
“What happened?” you asked.
“Kris hyung was having issues,” Chen said comically. You smiled at his attempt to lighten the mood.
“Alright, so let’s get started,” you said pushing the boys into the recoding room. Everybody took their positions and settled down. Music started, and the boys began singing.
After quite a few attempts Kris finally got his notes right. He looked over at you nervously, ashamed of his singing abilities. You smiled back calmly to tell him he was not doing bad at all.
“Let’s take five,” you announced, taking your headphones off and adjusting the buttons on the equipment. Chen and Luhan ran for the door as if getting released from the prison. Kris however stayed behind. You looked at him through the glass window. His head was bent down. You knew he was waiting for you to enter the recording room.
“Kris, go take a break,” you said from the door. He stood up and walked over to you.
“I have to tell you something,” he said.
“Hmm,” you asked raising your eyebrows questiongly. He lifted his hands, unsure to whether to hold your hands or put his on your shoulder. He did neither.
“I … I like you,” he said. The strange expression on your face turned into a smile. Your ears blushed a light pink and your heart raced a little faster than it normally did. You were not surprised at all about his confession. In fact you were flattered. He was intimidating, no doubt about that but he was also gorgeous and perfect and amazing. Having a guy like him utter those words to you was unimaginable.
“A..are you sure?” you asked. You secretly cursed yourself for being so silly and asking such a stupid question. You felt him take a sigh of relief. He chuckled nervously at how adorably silly you sounded.
“I’m sure,” he replied. You looked up and into his eyes. You weren’t scared anymore, because they were twinkling this time.
