Your Wish Is My Command

Free me from the pain [Luhan] - Part 1

Requested by Anon L

My first ever planned two part scenario *wohooo* This is very different from my usual ones. The story switches from present to past but I tried my best to not make it confusing at all. If reading intense stuff is uncomfortable to you then I wouldn’t recommend it otherwise I can assure you it’s a good read. I wrote this over a period of two days. I hope you guys like it and anticipate the next part :)

Part 2

Present Day:

The cold air brushed your feet sending shudders through your entire body. A tear fell from your eyes, slowly trickling down your already wet cheeks. You didn’t realize you had started crying again until you felt another tear drop on your hand. You raised your head just high enough to be able to see if someone was coming in through the double doors. No one was there. No one was ever going to come. It was too late. The ding of the big clock announced the arrival of the darkest hour of the night. You were all alone sitting at a train station waiting for him to come get you. Waiting for him to come take you away from all the misery.

14 Years ago:

The light gushes of your breath were causing the curtains in front of you to move. You knew Luhan was good with details. If he entered the room he would know you were hiding behind them. You very calmly took a deep breath and then held it in. You had vowed to yourself that you weren’t going to lose that day. If you did you would have to give him your ice cream from that day and you didn’t particularly like that.

The sound of soft footsteps touched your ears. Luhan was very light footed but somehow you could always tell when he was approaching you. The bond that the two of you had was beyond compare. You were inseparable.

“________ are you in here,” he called. “I know you’re in here. Give up already.” You shook your head as if he could see you but immediately realized how stupid you were. The curtain had obviously moved. Once again you’d given up your hiding space. Nevertheless you kept holding your breath and keeping hope alive. If fate was on your side, Luhan wouldn’t be able to find you that day. The footsteps drew nearer which only made you more nervous.

“_________,” he sang your name once again. You reacted by further pressing your body against the wall and closing your eyes. Luhan waved open the curtains and a gush of air hit you. You let out all the air you had held in and on to Luhan’s face making your cheeks look like a deflating balloon.

“Aish,” he scrunched up his nose. “What are you doing?”

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnn,” you cried and ran to another corner of the room. Curling up into a ball you began to cry. Once again you had lost and he was victorious.

********************

You lifted your hand to wipe your tears but just then a sound you had been longing to hear touched your ears. Then it changed. It weren’t the same footsteps. They were different. His were just different. None could be compared to them. You tilted your head to the side in disappointment. The double doors hissed open and in came a guy. It wasn’t him. You were right. It wasn’t him.

**********************

You glared at him hoping to burn holes into his body. He was licking your ice cream up and down and all the way around.

“I hate you,” you said and turned around crossing your arms. You looked adorable with your puffed up cheeks and pouty face. Luhan giggled continuing to lick the ice cream.

“Didn’t you hear? I hate you Lulu,” you said once again this time rubbing your eyes to wipe of the tears. You felt a hand on your shoulder. Luhan turned you around to face him.  He wiped your tears shaking his head signaling you to stop crying. He looked adorable with his apologetic face.

“Don’t cry pabo!,” he played with your hair. “Here,” he said and offered you the ice cream. You shot back a cheesy smile and took a big bite of the creamy vanilla deliciousness.

“Gomawo,” you said to him still licking the ice cream. You weren’t planning on giving it back to him. He looked at you with loving eyes and then patted your head.

“Don’t ever cry like that,” he said and then half hugged you as the two of you walked back into the house.

Your mother shot you a look, showing her disapproval as always when you hung out with the son of the maid who worked for your family. You felt your hand slip out of Luhan’s as he walked away. He was very scared of your parents which you didn’t understand why. Then again, you were only 7 years old and he 9. How could your parents expect you to know so much at such a young age?

.

You never knew you could hate being rich so much. Everything had to be done according to the rules that had been set up by you don’t know which one of your great great great grandfathers. Last time you heard someone laugh with all their heart in your house was never. Every ding of the bell was like an announcement for a different activity. Just like always the bell rung and you rushed to the table for dinner. You didn’t even get enough time to wipe your face completely. There was traces of the vanilla ice cream visible on your face. Every member of the family sat down in the designated seats. You waited for your father to start so everybody else could begin too. He glared at your dirty face for a second and then shot a look at your mother. She quickly and rather roughly wiped your mouth shaking you a little. It was her way of giving you a warning to never do that again.

Dinner was served. Every one ate without saying a word. You kept your head bent the entire time to avoid any awkward eye contacts with any of your siblings. They all annoyed you by trying to make you laugh so you would get in trouble. When the dessert came your eyes immediately shot towards the kitchen. Just as expected Luhan was looking at you. His favorite dish was being served that day. He ran his tongue on his lips looking at the cheesy puff that you were holding in your hand. You loved it just as much as he did but it saddened you that he never got to eat it. His mother tugged on his shoulder and then pulled him inside.

You looked at the cheese puff and then back at the place he was standing in, a few minutes ago. Then making sure to escape everyone’s eyes you took a napkin and carefully wrapped the puff in it. As soon as your father announced dismissal you ran in to your room and waited for Luhan. You knew he would appear soon.

Only thirty minutes passed and Luhan sneaked into your bedroom closing the door behind him. “Want to do something fun?” he asked.

“Ye,” you nodded your head. “But first I have something for you,” you said.

“What?” he asked jumping on the bed besides you. You revealed a fairly medium sized object wrapped in a napkin.

“What it is?” he asked.

“Open it,” you replied.

You thought he would hug and mess with your hair as soon as he saw the puff but instead he just stared at it.

“I thought you loved it,” you said.

“I do,” he mumbled. “But please don’t go through all this trouble for me. … What if they catch you next time? I don’t want them to punish you.”

“Since when did you start worrying about me,” you nudged him. You smiled to make him smile and smile he did. Luhan took a bite of the puff and then offered it to you. You shook your head and let him eat. It made you happy when he was happy and if cheesy puffs made him happy then you were willing to steal them every day, just for him.

Seven Years later

“__________, __________, ____________!,” Luhan whispered your name entering your room.

“What?” you said poking your head from under the sheets.

“Why are you sleeping at 3 in the afternoon?” he asked.

“Because I am tired,” you replied.

“Okay then come on and get up. I have this really cool place to show you,” he said pulling the covers from on top of you.

“Did you not hear what I just said?” you asked him.

“Trust me you won’t regret it,” he replied.

“Luhan we are not kids anymore,” you tried to shrug your hands out of his but he held them tightly. He pulled you out of bed and dragged you into the bathroom.

After that the two of you sneaked out of the house, which was fairly easy since it was afternoon time. Luhan dragged you through the backyard and into the trees behind your house. Your mother had always warned you about them while growing up. You hesitated a bit but Luhan insisted. You trusted him a lot too so you let yourself be dragged. Reaching a clearing, he stopped and went behind you. He then covered your eyes and then began to walk again.

“Luhan what is this?” you asked.

“Shhhhh Just keep walking,” he whispered into your ear.

After a while he stopped and then slowly slipped his hands from your eyes. You pressed your eye lids tightly before opening them. In front of you was a beautiful pond with birds chirping around it.

“Are there fish in..”

“Ye,” he nodded before you could even finish. He knew how much you loved fishes.

“Oh Lulu I can’t believe you found this. This is so beautiful.” You cried hugging him. Luhan chuckled but hugged you back tightly.

“I found this accidently while wandering around back here,” he replied. “The woods are not scary after all.”

You pulled away and looked straight into his eyes. You wanted to kiss him but you knew that would be inappropriate. Both of you loved each other a lot but only as friends and nothing more. Luhan took your hand and the two of you walked closer to the pond.

After watching the fish for a good amount of time you and him lay on the ground heads close to each other. The sky looked beautiful that day for some reason. Was it because he was by your side – your heart asked you. No- you whispered back to it but your heart knew well. You couldn’t lie to it.

The two of you watched the daylight fade. The sky was getting darker by the minute but some force in the nature was pulling you two towards it. Neither of you moved because everything was so calm and serene. You could only wish for time to stand still and the moment to become eternal in itself.

Luhan blinked and then it suddenly hit him. The sky was almost dark. Your parents must be worried sick about you. “_______,” he almost cried. “We were supposed to be back home a long time ago.”

“Oh my goodness,” you blubbered as well squeezing his hand. “Lulu I am so scared. They will kill me now.”

“Don’t worry okay. Hopefully they didn’t notice that you were missing,” he tried to calm you.

Both of you slowly and hesitantly walked back towards your house. The guard looked at Luhan and then and at you and shook his head. This meant that something horribly wrong was about to happen.

“See I told you she would be with him,” your mother said to your father upon seeing the two of you. She was crying while your father stood in grave silence giving deathly stares to Luhan. “Why don’t you say something?” she shook him.

“Kang Heo riiiiiiiiiiii,” he suddenly yelled Luhan’s mother’s name. She came running into the room from the kitchen. “Look at what your son did again. How dare he? How dare he take my daughter out of the house like this? Did you not teach him anything? How insolent could he be? It’s all your fault for not teaching him anything. His wits..HIS WITS ARE OUT OF CONTROL! ”

The entire house was echoing with his voice. You had never seen him this furious. Your body was shaking with fear but Luhan stood firm. His mother walked up to Luhan with tears in her eyes. You didn’t know what was yet to come. Without giving the slightest hint she slapped him across the face.

“I keep telling you to not do stuff like this,” she said grinding her teeth. She was hurt because he was the cause of her insult. “Come here,” she said and pulled him by the ear. You heard the kitchen door shut tightly but your body remained still. And then something very horrible touched your ears. He was being beaten with a stick. The same old worn out stick that was often kept in the corner of the kitchen. Luhan shrieked in pain but the beating didn’t stop. The dense sound of the stick hitting his bare flesh shot pain through your heart. Tears began falling out of your eyes. You raised your head to look at your father. He stood in silence with a faint smile on his lips. How could he? How could he enjoy this? How could he be so inhumane? You took a little step but he shook his head ordering you to not move. You had never felt more helpless.  You couldn’t save him or go back to your room. Your punishment was to stand there and listen to his suffering. The cries got louder with every minute. You felt your heart getting numb.

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!,” he cried.

“Abuji pleaseee,” you finally blurted out. Your father’s eyes opened up wide in surprise. For the first time in your life you had ever spoken out like this. He thought it to be an insult since you were doing it all for him- all for a servant. He looked at your mother who on getting the signal grabbed you by the arm and dragged you into your room.

“Next time you think about leaving the house without telling anyone and see what happens,” she said angrily. She slammed the door behind her as if transmitting all her anger into it. You buried your face in your pillow to block out all the sounds and hoped to fall asleep.

.

When you woke up it was way past midnight. You had fallen asleep crying. The first thought that crossed your mind was that of Luhan. He must still be in the kitchen. You ran to your bathroom, grabbed the first aid kit and very quietly tip toed to the kitchen.

Sure enough he sat in a dark corner curled up, his head buried in his lap.

“Luhan,” you whispered. He didn’t look up. You were sure he had heard you. You sat beside him and raised your hand hesitantly to rub is back.

“Aaa,” he let out a quite cry.

“Let me put something on it,” you whispered. He shrugged your hand off of his back. “Please let me,” you said and began to cry. You couldn’t have felt guiltier at the moment. Your heart hurt seeing him in such pain. “I am so sorry,” you said in a muffled voice.

You felt his arms around you. They were shaking and you knew it was because his entire body hurt but still he was trying to console you. “Shhh..shhh,” he said and then pressed your body against his.

You pulled away to look at his face. His eyes were red and puffy from crying. You shook your head apologetically wiping his new forming tears. Words weren’t needed anymore. He understood you without you having to say anything. Luhan turned his back to you and pulled his shirt to reveal the red marks. You lifted your shaking hands and started applying the ointment. His silent weeping filled the air and that night for the first time ever you realized that what you felt for him was love. At that point you realized that his pain was your pain. His suffering was your suffering. At that moment you also realized that you couldn’t live a minute without him.

The two of you sat in the silence of the night, your head in his lap as he caressed your cheek. Your eyes spoke to him. They told him that you never wanted him to leave. They told him that you loved him and they told him that you vowed to remain by his side forever. He smiled at you reassuringly as if he had understood everything but he never returned the vows. Did he love you back?- you asked yourself…
