Your Wish Is My Command

Just be happy for me [Joon]

Requested by Jaxterz

Joon was sitting beside you and looking at you when you woke up.

“Are you feeling better?” he asked placing his hand on your forehead.

“Yeah much better,” you said struggling to get up. He gave you support. “Is she still sleeping?” you asked looking at the small crib in the corner of the room.

“Yeah.”

“Do you have any schedules today?” you asked.

“Yeah I’m sorry. I already canceled three last week and they really want me to come to this one” he replied.

“No, that’s fine. Go!” you said, smiling to make him feel better.

Joon had left already when you came out of the bathroom. You went over and looked at the crib. Mi Yun, your one week old little princess was still sleeping. You ran your index finger on her cheeks. They were really hot. You panicked and ran out of the room to call Joon.

“Pick up pick up pick up” you said nervously. There was no response.

The door bell rang. You rushed towards it and opened it only to find your parents standing in front of you with a bright smile on their faces.  You sighed. You loved your parents but you really didn’t want to see them right now. They didn’t like Joon that much and if they found out that your daughter was sick and he wasn’t home, there was going to be trouble. A lot of trouble.

“Hey honey,” your mother greeted you pulling you in a hug.

“Anneyonghasaeyo” you  said letting them in.

“So where’s our little princess?” she asked clapping her hands.

“She’s in the room… ahh but you guys should settle down first. I’ll make tea.” You said nervously.

“What’s wrong?” your mother asked using her motherly instincts.

You gave up. You just wanted your daughter to be alright. “Everything,” you said hugging her.

“Mi Yun is sick.”

“Sesangi,” she said covering her mouth.

The three of you rushed to the room.

“Let’s take her to the hospital.” Your father said picking her up. You wrapped Mi Yun in a blanket carefully.

“Where is Joon?” your mother asked looking around.

“He had a schedule.”

“I knew that boy couldn’t take care of the baby. Why did he take responsibility in…”

“Eomeoni please!” you interrupted. She glared at you as your father forced the two of you out of the apartment.

****************************************

“She has a fever. These kind of things are common during the first few weeks. We will admit her in the hospital just to be on the safe side.” The doctor filled you in with the details.

You were still panicking. Your dad supported you as you were about to collapse. He made you sit down and gave you water.

“Where is Joon. He should  be here right now! Did you even call him?” you mother asked.

“I did and I texted him too. So he will be here soon.”

“That boy is so irresponsible. If he can’t take care of you he should just let us know. We aren’t dead yet.”

“Eomeoni!” you exclaimed.

“Don’t talk to me in that tone. You know what I am saying is right. You just love him too much to not see his flaws. When he comes here today I will get things straight with him. You can barely walk and he left you all alone with the child at home.”

Joon pushed opened the door and came inside.

“Where is she?” he asked looking extremely worried.

“They’re going to keep her here for a few days,” you said, trying to hold back your tears.

You looked at your parents. They were glaring at Joon. You held your mother’s hand but she quickly pulled it away and walked towards Joon.

“Eomeoni,” you called.

“You are the most irresponsible person I have ever met in my life.” She said, with a stern voice, pointing towards Joon . “I told her you weren’t right for her and you aren’t. I have no idea how she convinced me to marry you but as always you’ve let her down again. She is sick. Don’t you see her condition?” Joon looked over at you. You looked tired and worn out. “Do you really think she can run to hospitals like this after the first week of her delivery? If your work is so important for you, why don’t you just let her come with us and do whatever you want to do.”

You looked at Joon. He clenched his fist. He was still recovering from his bipolar disorder. You didn’t want anything to go wrong today.

“Abuji stop her,” you said hoping your father would do something. He just stood there listening to your mother.

You looked at Joon apologetically. You held your hands together and begged him to not explode and just listen. He nodded back and took a deep breath.

“Mianhe. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen,” he said.

“Isn’t that what you said last time too? Is this the excuse you will use every time? When will you realize that you are a mature adult now. You need to take responsibility for your actions. I am not even sure if I will let Mi Yun and my daughter come with you once she gets out of the hospital”

Joon shot a look at her. Tears were forming in the corner of his eyes. He began saying something  but stopped.

“Please don’t,” he finally said. His voice was barely audible.

Your mother turned around and looked away. You were still surprised at what she’d said. You walked up to her and held her hand.

“Amo, please don’t say that. He does take care of me and what he does for me is enough. He is responsible. You just aren’t around to see it. I can’t ask him for all his time. He has other commitments too.” You paused to see if she would say anything. She didn’t. “Did you ever find out that I was sick three times last month? No right? Because Oppa was there for me. He stayed up at nights to take care of me. Just last week he canceled all his schedules for me. He was going to take another day off so he could bring me to visit you guys.” You took hold of her other hand. “He loves me Amo, and I love him. Why can’t you see that? Isn’t my happiness, what you want? I know there were problems in the past but we all know why that was. He is recovering from it and he will be fine soon. Just, please don’t be mean to him. Treat him like your son. He loves you guys very much.” You could see your mother’s expression soften.

“Had he not been with me through my difficult delivery I would have never been able to make it.” You said now looking at Joon. He gave you a reassuring smile. You looked at your mother. She looked like she was about to cry. You quickly hugged her.

“I just want you to be happy my child.” She said patting your hair.

“I know ” you whispered as Joon wiped your tears. You looked at him. He was smiling now.

Your mother pulled away and turned around, facing Joon.

“Just don’t let me down this time, Okay?” she said.

“I won’t I promise.” He said taking her hand.

You took a sigh of relief. Things weren’t great but they were better than before. Now all of you could focus on your daughter instead of having internal conflicts.
