The long awaited part 2. I hope you guys like it :) *fingercrossed*
“You seem so lost today? What happened? You weren’t like this before we went downtown this morning?” Eunsun asked Kris.
He didn’t respond. He stared into blank space thinking about what he had seen earlier at the bubble tea shop. He thought he had completely gotten over you but seeing you with your son made him jealous and a little angry. The last four years hadn’t been any pleasant for him. He’d been in two relationships and none of them had worked out. How could you be so happy in your life while he was so miserable? He wanted to confront you and demand answers for all the questions he had.
“Oppaaa!” Eunsun shook him.
“Huh!” he pulled his head out of his deep thoughts and looked at her. She pouted and shifted in bed.
“What?” he said in a sort of irritating tone.
“Nothing!” she mumbled.
“Fine!” he said giving up without even trying. That was his problem and he still hadn’t realized it.
Painful memories from the past started registering in his head again. He remembered how he would nag you about everything and you never yelled back. You apologized even when it wasn’t your fault. He took your niceness as your weakness.
“Eunsun ah, I’m sorry,” he mumbled realizing that he had messed up three relationships he certainly didn’t want that to happen again.
“Whatever,” she replied making it clear that she was still angry.
Kris sighed and closed his eyes. He still had a lot on his mind and he needed to clear all of that first.
**********************************************************
A month later..
Kris jogged down an unfamiliar path. He decided to take a different route that day because he felt like he needed a change. The weather was chilly but he didn’t stop for once.
Going downhill, a familiar image captured his gaze. It was you and your son. You were walking him to school. After recovering from stumbling he began to follow you.
You stopped in front of a small building a while later. “Finish your lunch today or I won’t give you any from tomorrow,” you warned Eunsuk before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“But everybody’s Umma’s gives them chips and biscuits and you always give me bread and eggs. Other kids make fun of me,” he pouted.
“Well, then they won’t be healthy like my little Eunsuk,” you ran your fingers through his hair and forced an encouraging smile on your face. “Now smile!”
A faint smile appeared on his face and he hurried inside the school. You sighed and got up to return but bumped into someone.
“Oh I’m so sorry,” you apologized, tucking your hair behind your ear. You looked up only to find Kris standing in front of you. This was the first time you’d seen him in four years. You’d never prepared yourself, as to what you would do if you ever saw him. Your heart sank to your stomach and you immediately looked away. You began to walk but he blocked you.
“I need to talk!” he said with a stern voice.
“I don’t have time,” you replied without making eye contact. You began to walk once again but he followed close behind.
“Go away Kris,” you warned.
“No!” he said pulling you into a small alley.
“What are you doing? People are watching!”
“Nobody is watching,” he said slamming his palm on the wall behind you. The fear you had of him four years ago started coming back.
“You left me without giving a warning and now you’re enjoying a happy life with someone else! ” he said grinding his teeth. “Those divorce papers, they..” he stopped and looked away. After a while he looked back at you.“How dare you? Do you know what I think? I think everything in that letter was a lie. Maybe you were cheating on me? Maybe you were carrying someone else’s child and so ..”
“Shut up Kris, just shut up!” you cut him short and pushed him. The anger that you’d kept inside of you for so long was finally coming out. He was accusing you of cheating on him when all you had done was to leave him for his happiness.
He advanced towards you but you stopped him.
“Stop it!” you glared. He glared back, his eyes burning with rage. A tear rolled out of your eyes but you wiped it immediately. You shook your head in disappointment and began to walk.
You stopped at the corner of the alley. The voice inside was poking you. You wanted him to know the truth. It was high time you told him but was that really going to change anything? Nevertheless, you went along with your heart.
“I never remarried,” you mumbled and began to walk again. Kris looked up immediately, his eyes wide open with surprise. Your words didn’t quite make sense to him.
“Never remarried?” he mumbled in confusion. Then something hit him. He began to recall the walk in the park before you left him…
Flashback:
“Doesn’t that couple look cute?” you asked.
“Ye,” he replied
“What do you think about having a baby?” you asked.
“Aish, too much responsibility. I think if we should have a baby it should at least be 2 to 3 years from now. We shouldn’t rush with everything.”
His mouth fell half open. It just dawned on him that you were trying to tell him that you were pregnant with his child. He lifted his hands and buried his face in them. ‘That child is my baby’ he thought as a tear rolled out of his eyes. He looked back up at your fading image in the fog. You were gone and once again you’d left him devastated and confused. He regretted yelling at you and accusing you. How were you ever going to forgive him now?
********************************************************
Kris paced back and forth in his room. He had to figure out a way to find you. There were still unanswered questions in his head. He was happy to find out that there was a living part of him in this world but deep down he was scared. Scared of what? He had no idea.
‘I should demand custody of my child. No, no! She will never agree. She has every right over our child. I was the irresponsible one. I pushed her away. But then again, she should have told me. I would have thought of something. I wasn’t just going to leave her. So should I go talk to her? Will she let me see him? Will she tell him that I’m his father? ……..More importantly will she take me back?’
“What’s wrong now?” Eunsun asked entering the room. Kris was still moving back and forth with wrinkles on his forehead.
“Not now! Eunsun!” he showed her the hand.
“What? I just asked you what was wrong. Stop yelling at me.”
“I’m not yelling at you.”
“Yes you clearly are.” She lifted her hands in frustration. “You know what I’m done with this.”
“Done with what?” Kris asked as she picked up her bag and shoes.
“I’m leaving.”
“What do you mean you’re leaving?” he grabbed her wrist.
She leaned in,” I’m done with you.” Kris’s hand slid away and before he could stop her, Eunsun was gone.
************************************************************
You were running a little late. You had just gotten home from work and it was already time to pick up Eunsuk. You heard a faint knock on the door.
“Hold on! I’m coming.” You said running towards the door while trying to wear your shoes. As the door opened, opposite you stood Kris and your son. Your eyes widened with shock but was quickly replaced by anger.
“What are you doing here?” you asked Kris.
“Umma, he told me he is my dad. Is that true?” your son asked innocently while licking his ice cream.
“Eunsuk, go to your room!” you said sternly. He looked at you with his big eyes not understanding what was happening. You took his hand out of Kris’s and began to walk him.
“_________ listen to me.”
“Please go away Kris,” you said as calmly as possible. The last thing you wanted to do was to fight in front of Eunsuk.
Kris followed you to Eunsuk’s room.
“Stay here!” you instructed your son and closed his door. Kris followed you back to the living room.
“What?” you snapped turning around. “Why are you here?”
He knew he dare not say that he wanted you back because that was just going to make you more angry. In fact he himself was confused as to what he wanted at the moment.
“I wanted to see my son,” he replied after a while.
“Meet your son!” you raised your eyebrows.
“Yes, my son! The son you never bothered telling me about. I have every right over him and you can’t keep him away from me like this.”
“Oh go away please!” you snickered. Kris tried to calm himself. He knew that yelling at each other was not going to help.
“_________,” he said softly. “Why did you never tell me? Why didn’t you tell me about him?”
“Would that have changed anything?” you questioned.
“Yes, it would have. It would have changed everything.”
“How?…Are you telling me that you would have taken responsibility for him?”
“Yes! He is my son. Of course I would have.”
“Really? Do you ever realize how you behaved back then? And frankly speaking I don’t see any difference even now.”
“How do you know I wouldn’t have? No matter what, you can’t deny the fact that I loved you. I was going to take care of him and you.”
“Loved me?” you leaned in closer to him. “If you loved me you would have come looking for me.” You began to cry. “Did you, even try for once?”
He didn’t know what to say. In fact he asked himself the same question. Why didn’t he look for you?
“Just leave it Kris. What’s happened has happened. I’ve moved on and I am sure you have too… so why don’t we…”
“I never signed the divorce papers,” he cut you short, leaving you in a shock.
“Huhhhh,” you gasped.
“I had hope!” he said with a crying face. For a second you saw in him the Kris that you’d met for the first time. The Kris who loved you deeply.
Your expressions softened. “Please come back to me. Let’s be a family again.” He said holding your hand. “I’ll make it right this time. I won’t ever hurt you again. I’ll make it work for us. Give me another chance.”
You kept shaking your head as more tears rolled out of your eyes.
“I want to be with you and with my son. The past years have not been easy for me. If you say that I didn’t think about you for once that would be wrong. Because I did think about you. Had I known I had a son with you, I would have come running, after for you.”
You looked up at him and gently slid your hand out of his grip. “That’s the problem. You would have come looking for me if you knew you had a son otherwise you would never be standing in this living room today.”
You’d left him speechless. He didn’t know what to say anymore. The tiny tinge of hope that he’d had was also gone now. He stood before you with his eyes fixed towards the floor.
“Please, just leave! Eunsuk and I are perfectly happy in our lives,” you said. You knew that was a lie. You were miserable. You needed someone but the truth was, you’d never stopped loving Kris. You couldn’t move on because all those years you had hope. And now that he was standing in front of you, you were throwing it all away once again. Kris began to walk out of the apartment. You collapsed on the ground and buried your face into your hands. You wanted to cry for the rest of the night.
“Umma,” Eunsuk placed his hand on your shoulder. You had no idea when he’d left his room. You looked up at him. He lifted his tiny hands to wipe the tears out of your eyes. He looked like he was about to cry too. “Is he not my appa?” he asked you as a tear rolled out of his eyes and fell on your hands. You felt like somebody sucked all the energy out of you. His words shot straight through your heart. ‘How can I be so selfish? I didn’t even think about Eunsuk and his future,’ you thought to yourself.
“I am so sorry,” you said and embraced him. “I’m so so sorry.” The sound of you and him crying, filled the silent room. You began to hate yourself for what you’d done and you knew you couldn’t forgive yourself for that. Eunsuk meant everything to you then why did you not think about?
“Don’t cry!” you stroked his head. “Everything will be fine.”
You consoled him but there was nobody to console you. The emptiness inside you, was howling like a rage monster. Moments passed away and both you and Eunsuk continued to cry in each other’s arms. His was too young for all of this. He had no idea what was going on. All he knew was that his mother was crying.
You felt a pair of hands on your shoulders. You pulled away from Eunsuk and turned around. Kris was right behind you, his eyes red and puffy. He’d never left. He’d been standing at the door watching you break down.
Right away he pulled both you and Eunsuk into a hug.
“Please ________!” he whispered into your ear. You felt so weak and tired. The battle you’d been fighting with yourself was finally over. You’d given up. He’d won once again but maybe this time it was victory for both of you. You rested your head against his chest and closed your eyes. Kris kissed Eunsuk and then you, wiping your tears away.
He was going to start over and this time he was going to make it right…

Thank you for reading! Saranghae
Here’s part 1 for the people who haven’t read it yet
.
.
.
“_________ah, why did you leave the party so early?” your mother came and sat beside you. You didn’t bother turning around and looking at her. You knew she was going to get worried seeing your puffy eyes and then a thousand questions were going to follow, asking you what was wrong.
“I had a headache so I left,” you mumbled from under the sheets.
“Alright,” she said. You could hear disappointment in her voice.
“Umma,” you stopped her. “Is there something you want to tell me?”
“Aniyo.”
“Please, tell me,” you insisted. She sat beside you once again and sighed.
“Yixing’s father proposed today,” she said. You felt somebody had just dropped a bomb on you. This was it. Fate’s way of telling you that your little love story was never going to happen. It was also a punishment for you because you knew well that it was your fault.
“_______ah, say something,” she nudged you. She started to pull the sheet from your face but you clenched it tightly.
“That’s great,” you said trying to cheer her up.
“Ye,” she sighed. Something seemed missing. She didn’t sound too happy. You were going to wait and ask her the next morning. At the moment you just needed some time to yourself.
**************************************************************
You looked at the thousands of unanswered missed calls on your phone. You wanted to pick up the phone when he called but you knew it was only going to lead to disaster. It had been a month and you hadn’t seen him. You changed your bus routes. You stopped eating at the usual restaurants. You were doing anything and everything, to avoid him.
“Ummmaa I’m home,” you yelled through the corridor. “I didn’t bring bread because I think it’s going to start raining soon but I’ll be sure to pick…” you stood stunned in the living room as you saw Yixing, his father and your mother.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” you choked on your own voice. “Umm, I’m going to go change.”
Your mother gave you a warm, comforting smile. It seemed like she had something to say. “Don’t change. Come sit down with us.”
“I brought Yixing here too today,” his father began speaking. “Because both your mom and I wanted to make this announcement.” You knew exactly what he was going to say. You dreaded it and you hated yourself for dreading it. “We are going to get married soon.” He said with such excitement holding your mother’s hand that for a second you felt jealous. You were jealous of their happiness.
“Well what do you guys think?” he asked bringing you back to reality.
“Huh,” you responded as Yixing shook your elbow. “That’s great! When?”
“Sometime next month. We were thinking, the second Saturday?” he asked. “Oh and I’d suggest that you and your mother start packing. You guys will soon be moving in.”
You hadn’t even thought about that. Living in the same house with a person who you loved and having to call him your step brother. You couldn’t do it. You just couldn’t. You excused yourself politely and left the living room.
“It’s getting chilly out here,” Yixing said opening the door to the tiny balcony.
“Please go away,” you said without looking at him.
“You don’t have to hide those tears from me,” he said, now standing right besides you. He slid his hand around your waist. You tried to struggle but he won. You were now wrapped around his arms tightly.
“I feel pathetic. I felt jealous when they were giving me the news. I was jealous of their happiness. Can you imagine this? I’m such a horrible person.” You said between your sniffles.
“Shhhhhh,” don’t say that he said and kissed you on your temple.
“I can’t do this. I just can’t.” you said. He rested his chin on your head. You could feel his tears running down your hair. You pulled back and looked at him.
“I’ve loved once and I’ve lost. I don’t want that to happen to me again,” he said while shaking his head. “I don’t want to lose you.”
You tried to slip your hands out of his trembling hands but he didn’t let go. He didn’t want too. He was trying his best to keep you from going.
“Don’t you see how happy they are? Do you really want to do this to them?” you asked.
“I don’t want to let go off you ______.”
“You have too. For them.”
“No!” he shook his head. “I’d given up on life but you showed me that I could keep moving on. You gave me hope. You made me fall for you. And now you’re telling me that you want to leave?”
“I know it’s my fault but I don’t want it to affect them. Besides I’m leaving for Canada after the wedding.”
“What” he gasped. “No, no no!” he repeated pulling you back into an embrace. “You can’t do that.”
“I have too.” You began to cry once again. “You and I both know it won’t work like this.”
He pulled back and joined his soft lips to yours. Your wet cheeks touched his. He slid his hand to the back of your head and pinned you against the wall.
“We shouldn’t do this,” you said between kisses.
“Please don’t stop me,” he replied.
“You’ll find someone better than me.”
“I’ll never find anyone like you.”
“Oppa..”
“Shhh,” he shussed you by reconnecting his lips to yours.
***********************************************************
“Seriously, I don’t understand the need for me to try on a wedding dress too. It’s your wedding not mine,” you whined as your mother pushed you into the dressing room. You were already annoyed at the fact that she’d invited Yixing. You could barely make eye contact with him after that night in the balcony. You wanted to make it pretty clear that there was nothing between you and him.
“Yixing, do you want to try something too?”
“Uh, no thank you,” he rejected politely. “Oh come on, try this one. I’m sure your father will love it.” He surrendered to your mother’s pleading and took the tuxedo from her.
You and him both got out of the dressing room at the same time, coincidently.
“Why are you wearing that?” you asked him and turned to face your mother. You were a little surprised as you saw Yixing’s dad standing beside her.
“Now don’t they look perfect?” he asked your mother.
“Perfect indeed,” she said with a big smile on her face.
Both you and him were confused.
“What do you mean?” you asked. Your mother stepped forward and cupped your face with her hands.
“Did you really think that you were ready to make such a big sacrifice at such a young age? How dare you think of my happiness before yours.”
“Umma what are you saying?” you interrupted.
“Shhhh,” she placed her finger on your lips. A tear rolled down her cheek. Your heart sank. You could bear anything in the world except see your mother cry. “Yixing’s father and I have already received the joys of being with someone we loved in our lives but you two,” she now looked at Yixing too. “It’s your first time and you guys are throwing it away like nothing had happened between you.”
“Umma how did you?” you asked really embarrassed.
“We saw you two in the balcony the other night.”
You were disgusted by your existence. You couldn’t do one small good deed for your own mother who had sacrificed so much for you. You hugged her. “I never meant for any of this to happen..” you said between sobs.
“I know honey, I know.” she stroked your hair. “I just want you to be happy.”
“We want both of you to be happy.” Yixing’s father added. “I’ve seen my son go through a lot and I certainly don’t want to be the reason for his misery.”
You pulled back and looked at Yixing. He seemed hurt too. He felt just as bad as you did.
“I’m so sorry appa,” he mumbled not being able to make eye contact.
“Don’t be,” he said pushing you towards him. “Look at the two of you. You guys make a perfect couple.” He wiped the tears out his eyes. “You guys deserve to be together.”
The more they said that, the more you hated yourself.
“________ah, don’t hate yourself for this.” Your mother said. You were surprised as to how she could read your thoughts.
“He loves you a lot.” She said while nodding. “Do it for me.”
You felt Yixing hold your hand and interlace his fingers into yours. You were still unsure of what to do. He, without any hesitation planted a kiss on your cheek.
You heard your mother and his father chuckle.
“They are so innocent and pure,” she said.
“Yes they are,” he replied.
A smile spread on your face. You tightened your grip on Yixing’s hand and looked up at him. He was looking right back at you with a reassuring smile.
You didn’t have to leave after all..

Alrighty so I spared you guys this time and didn’t make it a sad ending even though I REALLY wanted too. I hope you guys like it :)
I know it’s pretty late and most of you are already a sleep but I just wanted to make sure I posted this before Tumblr died on all of us for a couple of hours.

You walked into the house, throwing your hand bag off to Narnia. You took off your shoes and left them in the corridor. You looked at your mother for a quick second but continued walking. Just then something hit you. She was smiling. She was smiling looking at something on her phone. Last time you saw her smiling was five years ago when your appa was still alive. You slowly walked up to her and sat beside her.
“Umma..”
“Huh?” she jumped up in surprise.
A smile spread on your face as she tried to hide her phone. You felt like your role had been reversed. Usually you were the one hiding your phone from her.
“Seriously?” you raised your eyebrows.
“When did you get home?” she asked.
“Just now..” you mumbled.
“How was work?”
“I’m quitting soon. I hate this job,” you said with frustration.
She nodded, pretending to listen but you knew well that in the back of her head she was thinking something else. Something far too important, hence the faint smile on her face.
“Umma,” you shook her.
“Aish, I’m listening,” she made a face.
“Just tell me what’s going on. You and I both know you won’t be able to hide it forever.”
Her smile disappeared for a second but she immediately recovered it.
“I think it’s time I tell you.”
“Time? What? What are you talking about?”
“Shhhhh..” she nodded her head and made you sit next to her on the couch.
“________, I’ve been seeing this guy for a while ..” she felt your hand slip out of her. You felt a slight twinge of pain. You’d always seen your umma with your appa. They had to be together, always. “Well sort of ishhh,” she corrected herself.
“What do you mean? For how long?” you asked after a while.
“Five months.”
Your mouth fell open. Five months and you didn’t have a single clue about it. Disappointment made its way to your face and you turned sideways to hide the forming tears. Both you and her sat in silence for a long time. You could see her playing with her fingers. She did that when she was nervous.
You raised your head slightly to look at her. The face that was shining brightly a half hour ago was dull. The life that you’d seen on it was gone once again. It suddenly hit you, how selfish you were being. Her happiness was above all. At the moment, her feelings were more important. It was her life and she deserved to be happy. She had lived in agony for the past five years. If life was giving her a second chance than you had no right to come in her way.
You slowly slid your hand on top of hers. She immediately looked at you. You turned to her and held her face.
“So when am I seeing him?” you asked and winked to avoid getting teary eyed. A smile spread on your mothers face and she embraced you.
“Soon.. very soon,” she whispered to you.
****************************************************************
“Tuck in your shirt properly,” your mother nagged you as the two of you waited for the door to open.
“Umma I’m not a teenager anymore. Stop doing that,” you pouted.
She smiled at you. “And did I mention that he also has a s…” before she could finish, the door opened and a guy much much younger than your mother stood on the opposite side.
You gave him a strange look. Your mother could not be seeing him. He was far too young for her. In fact he seemed to be around your age. He smiled at the two of you and moved aside so both you and her could enter.
“________ah, come in,” your mother pulled you. You remained your eye contact with him. He seemed to be getting a little uncomfortable with the way you were looking at him.
“Annyeonghaseyo,” you heard a voice say from behind. You turned around, to find an older guy entering the living room. It finally dawned on you. Your mother was trying to tell you that he had a son.
You greeted him and all of you settled down. He seemed like a really nice guy, a little dominating but nice.
“Yixing, why don’t you show her around?” he asked his son, sensing the awkward atmosphere in the room.
‘Yixing’ got up immediately as if waiting for someone to tell him to leave. It seemed like somebody had sucked the life out of him. Still, there was something about him that was attracting you towards him. For a while, you forgot why you were at their house.
“Come on,” he mumbled walking past you. You got up and followed.
“There really isn’t anything to show,” he said after showing you the balcony and then stepping into his own room.
You took a deep breath and looked around. The room was plain with only a few fixed artifacts. You hesitated but then sat on his bed. You felt him cringe a little but he came and sat beside you too.
“Why the flat face?” you asked. He didn’t respond but continued to stare into space. You felt like you were bothering him. Maybe he was just as upset as you were when you first found out about your parents. You thought for a while and began again.
“Listen, I know it’s a little upsetting to see our parents move on in life but I think we should both take a step back and let them figure this out. We should be happy for them.”
Still no response. Maybe you were just annoying him. You thought it better to just get up and leave. You were at the door when he mumbled something.
“What?” you turned around and asked.
“I’m happy for them,” he said pulling a fake smile. You could still see how upset he was. You went back and sat beside him.
“It’ll be alright soon,” you tried to comfort him. You felt him slide a little. You didn’t realize that you’d been sitting a little too close to him. You looked at him from the corner of your eyes. There was a mysterious aura. You wanted to know what was going on inside his head.
“________, Yixing, dinner is ready,” you heard your mother’s voice.
“We should get used to that,” you said with a cheeky smile. He looked at you with a flat face once again. You could see that he was trying hard to smile but something inside of him was stopping him.
***************************************************
“So do you like him?” you mom asked as the two of you settled on the couch. You were relieved that you were finally back home.
“He’s great,” you said but your thoughts were elsewhere. You were still thinking about Yixing.
“What do you think about Yixing?” she asked.
“Him? Why him?” you asked defensively.
“I might need your help with something.” You looked at her so she could finish. “Yixing’s father is very worried about him.”
“He should be. There is clearly something wrong with him” you rolled your eyes.
“________, I’m serious.”
“What is it?” you asked.
“He just got out of a two year relationship so he is really devastated.”
“Whaaaaaa,” you gasped. She nodded apologetically.
“He wants you to hang out with him some more. He feels that you can make him feel better especially since the two of you will soon be siblings.”
You wished she hadn’t said that. You had found him very charming and attractive the moment you saw him. How was this going to work out?
******************************************************
You secretly wished he wouldn’t pick up his phone. One bell, two, three.. you were about to hang up when he suddenly picked up.
“Hello!”
“Uh Hi,” you choked. “Umm I don’t think you remember me but I came over to your house with my mother a few days ago.”
“Ye, I remember.”
“So I was wondering if you wanted to hang out or something?” you asked.
“Hang out?” he repeated in form of a question.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to. I mean I totally understand what..” you bit your tongue.
“Where do you want to go,” he asked.
“Sun set park?” you asked.
“Okay I’ll be there,” he said and hung up.
**************************************************
You looked around for thirty minutes but there was no sign of Yixing. He stood you up. You weren’t surprised at all. His attitude was getting the best of him.
“Looking for someone?” he asked suddenly coming up behind you. You jumped around clenching your fist to calm your nerves.
“Did I scare you?” he asked stuffing his mouth with cotton candy. He seemed a lot better than last time. Something was clearly wrong with him.
“Did you get me some?” you asked.
“You can have this one,” he offered. You took some and shoved it in your mouth. The two of you began walking.
“So how’s everything?” you asked.
“Great,” he nodded. You didn’t know what else to say. You felt very awkward around him. You were going to give it another shot so you began to speak but he immediately cut you off.
“You don’t have to do this.”
“Do what?” you asked.
“This!” he said now turning to you. “Do you really think I wouldn’t know that my dad told you to do this?”
You felt embarrassed. You didn’t quite know how to answer his question so instead you looked at the ground.
“I’m sorry,” you mumbled.
“Don’t be.”
“No I’m sorry that she left you,” you said. You could feel him cringe a little but he recovered immediately. He didn’t utter a single word. You wanted to look at him but the situation wasn’t allowing you to do that.
“I’ve moved on,” he said but his voice chocked.
“You don’t have t lie to me,” you said. He settled on a bench and buried his face in his hands. “I loved her a lot,” he murmured after a while. You wanted to comfort him. In your heart, you felt extreme hatred for the girl who’d left him like this. He seemed to be so broken. You had this sudden urge to hug him and that’s exactly what you did.
“You’ll move on,” you whispered to him.
**************************************************************
Four months passed by in a breeze. Having lunch with Yixing became a routine for you now. You had no idea he worked in the office opposite yours. In fact you had started to love work once again. He seemed a lot happier to now. Sometimes when he felt generous, he would gift you with a faint smile. That’s all you needed. You just wanted him to be happy. A guy as charming as him deserved to be happy.
“Guess who?” someone asked placing their hands on your eyes.
“Are you really going to do this with me?” you said while giggling. He chuckled as he removed his hands and sat across from you.
“Are you coming to the party tonight?” he asked. You nodded.
“Great! I’ll introduce you to all of my friends.” You nodded once again staring at him. His sweet, honey like voice always melted in your eyes. The shine in his eyes, the faint smile on his lips and glowing skin always captivated you. Little did you know, what you were getting yourself into.
*********************************************
“Having fun?” he asked handing you a glass of juice.
“ Ye,” you said trying to avoid his eyes. “Uh, I need to go use the bathroom.” You immediately excused yourself. Earlier that day, after lunch you’d come to a realization that staying around Yixing was going to ruin your life. You had no idea when you’d fallen for him. You’d fallen hard because every time you saw him your heart ached. You knew you couldn’t ever be with him.
You were taken aback when you found him in the room as you got out of the bathroom.
“Why are you avoiding me?” he asked.
“Avoiding? What are you talking about?” you tried to bring out your playful side. Your eyes wandered from one corner of the room to the other nervously. The very next second Yixing grabbed your hand and pinned you to the wall. He connected his lips to yours. For a brief second you had no idea what was happening. You were kissing him back. You suddenly pushed him back.
“We can’t do this..” you said as tears began rolling out of your eyes.
You waited for him to say something but he didn’t. You couldn’t stay there any longer. It was time for you to leave.

Both you and Kris burst into the apartment half drunk.
“You should never drink on your own wedding,” Kris said as he stumbled.
You hit him on his shoulder. “You tricked me into drinking.“
He grabbed your hand and pulled you closer. “You’ll pay for this Oppa,” you said, squinting your eyes.
“Oh yeah? How so?” he said sliding his hands around your waist. You pulled away and began to run but he grabbed you once again and picked you up this time.
“Aish, what are you doing? Put me down!” you asked childishly.
“Aneyo,” he shook his head and walked towards the room. “Welcome to our room,” Kris announced. A smile spread on your face. He brought his face closer to yours and gave you a light peck on the lips. The next second, you found yourself in bed with Kris on top of you.
“I’ve waited long enough for this,” he whispered sliding the strap of your wedding dress off of your shoulders.
*******************************************************************
You found yourself tightly wrapped in Kris’s arms the next morning.
“Oppa,” you whispered but he didn’t respond. You carefully slid out of bed and walked to the kitchen. You were familiar with most of the things in the house but it was still new to you. You didn’t live with him before you got married but you visited occasionally. You’d known Kris for three years. Two as a friend and then one year as his girl friend. He had finally proposed 3 months back. Everything happened so quickly that you were still trying to sink in most of it.
“Last night was amazing,” Kris said suddenly appearing from behind and holding you.
“Huh!” you jumped but calmed yourself immediately. You were smiling. He turned you around to face him.
“You’re still blushing after last night?” he asked with his classic sexy smile. You couldn’t look him in the eyes. His presence still made you nervous.
“Are you happy?” he asked. You looked at him, as if trying to tell him that of course you were happy. Was there a reason to not be? He understood you and leaned in to kiss you.
*********************************************************
“I’m just saying you could have talked a little. You just sat in the corner and stared at us,” Kris said with a slightly annoyed tone while entering the apartment.
“And I’m just saying that you could have introduced me to them. You just went on and on while I had to sit awkwardly. Besides I didn’t even know them or what they were talking about.”
“Oh yeah, well now they think you lack confidence.”
“So?”
“So, I don’t want people to think my wife is like that,” Kris said angrily this time.
“Okay calm down Kris. What’s the big deal?” you asked.
“It is a big deal! You do this every time we meet somebody new. Why can’t you be more like the life of the party and introduce yourself and look confident?”
“Kris you know that’s not how I am.”
“Well then CHANGE!” he said glaring at you.
You didn’t want to frustrate him more therefore you just nodded your head in agreement. Four months in your marriage and you guys were already having your first argument.
“Are you still mad?” you asked him while slipping in bed. He was busy reading his book.
“Kris!” you nudged him.
“Huhmmm,” he took his eyes off his book for a second and then went back to reading it. “No!”
You took a sigh of relief and went to bed.
******************************************
You thought that argument was something you and him were going to forget about but Kris’s behavior changed completely. He would nag you about the littlest of the things. He hated your job because it wasn’t good enough. He hated the fact that you didn’t wear branded cloths. He didn’t like it when you showed up at his practices uninvited. The list went on and on. It wasn’t like you weren’t trying. You were slowly changing yourself and it was very uncomfortable but if you had to please Kris then that is what you were going to do.
“What’s this?” Kris asked after taking the first bite of his meal.
“What’s wrong?”
“Did you taste it?”
You shook your head.
“Then taste it,” he made a face. You did as he said. It was a little salty. Kris suddenly pushed the plate to the side.
“I’m tired of this ________. I really am.”
You lost your patience too this time. “Stop it Kris, Just stop it,” you said standing up.
Kris stood up too.
“Why are you always like this? Can you not see that I’m trying so hard? ..but nothing ever seems to please you.” You said with a crying voice.
“Stop being so childish!”
“I’m not being childish,” you yelled.
“_________, lower your voice.”
“No I won’t” you snapped back. You quickly realized that you shouldn’t have said that. Kris walked towards you and slapped you across the face. You were horrified. Tears were flowing like a stream. Instead of apologizing Kris turned around and left.
***************************************************
Your eyes burnt from crying for 3 hours straight. Kris still hadn’t come back. You wanted him to come back but a little part of you was scared of him.
You heard the door click open and you immediately closed your eyes. You could hear his heavy footsteps and with each one he took your heart sank a little more. He slipped in besides you and held your shoulder.
“____________ah, I’m sorry,” he said. That’s it. That’s all he could come up with after what he’d done. He forced you to turn around. He knew you weren’t sleeping. You looked at him. Not a single sign of guilt was visible on his face. He pulled you closer and kissed you on the cheek that he had slapped earlier. He didn’t just stop there. He continued towards your neck and began taking off your cloths. This was his way of apologizing to you. You weren’t the type who would state their own opinion on the table. This was your weak point and he knew that well. You submitted to his desire because once again you didn’t want to displease him.
******************************************************
“Whaaaaaaa,” you looked at the little red sign on the stick. A smile broke on your face. This was the first time you’d received happiness in the past eight months. Tears of joy rolled down your cheeks. You were sure when Kris heard the news he’d jump with excitement too.
*********************************************************
“Doesn’t that couple look cute?” you asked looking at a pregnant girl with a guy walking besides her.
“Ye,” Kris replied not really interested in the conversation.
“What do you think about having a baby?” you asked smiling secretly.
“Aish, too much responsibility.” He snickered. “I think if we should have a baby it should at least be 2 to 3 years from now. we shouldn’t rush with everything.”
Your heart sank once again. You gasped in surprise and disappointment.
“What happened?” he asked.
“Nothing,” you said shaking your head. You had no idea how you were going to tell him. You couldn’t imagine what he was going to say. Get rid of the baby? Leave you? Accept it? You had no idea.
“Kris..” you began to say but he interrupted.
“____________, why did you bring me here? It’s so chilly outside.” He shrugged his shoulders with annoyance and turned around to walk back home. He left you there, devastated. You watched him from behind. This wasn’t the Kris you had fallen in love with. Or maybe you were wrong and he was always like this but love had had made you blind. It had almost been a year in to your marriage and no matter how hard you tried to tell yourself that you were happy, you weren’t. That was the plain truth.
************************************************************
Kris came home the next day and it was quieter than usual.
“__________ ah, where are you?” but nobody was there to respond.
“_____________,” he said your name again but still no response.
He walked in the room. It was completely dark. He turned on the lights and sat on the bed. The sound of paper scrunching under him made him get up. He looked at it. It was your hand writing. He began reading:
“Dear Kris,
I love you and I always have. But I can’t live like this anymore. I’m sorry. I really am. You probably have no idea what I’m talking about but I promise I tried really hard everyday to be what you wanted me to be. I can’t live like that anymore. It’s too superficial for me. When you fell in love with me I thought you fell in love with whatever faults or qualities I had but I was wrong. It’s not your fault, it’s my fault because I fell in love with a person who wanted all of this and I can’t be like that. I’m sorry if I’ve hurt you but I don’t want to be hurt anymore either. It’s been long and painful and I just want to spare both of us. I noticed you weren’t happy with this marriage either. You were still managing it because I was your responsibility. I really do respect you for that. This decision was hard for me but I am leaving Kris! I’m leaving. I hope you find someone who will love you and be of your standards. I’m sorry if I’ve disappointed you. [I left the divorce papers in the top left drawer]
I will always love you…
________________”
A tear rolled down Kris’s cheek and fell on the letter. He didn’t see this coming but even he knew that this marriage wasn’t going anywhere. Maybe this was for the best or was it really?
********************************************************
4 years later…
Kris walked hand in hand with Eunsun down the street.
“Want some bubble tea?” he asked her.
“Of course I do,” she said waving her Parada handbag in the air.
Kris went to a nearby street store and ordered two bubble teas.
“Eunsuk stop or I won’t get you anything!” he heard a familiar voice from behind him. He turned around immediately. It was you getting angry at your little one. He felt a slight twinge in his heart. ‘Oh so she got married again..’ he wondered.
You held your son’s hand and began walking. Kris turned around to get his order.
“Mommy! Why don’t I have a daddy and everybody else does?” Eunsuk suddenly asked you. You were surprised at his sudden question. The memories of four years ago started coming back but you repressed them instantly. That is what you had been doing for so long. You, however could never forgive yourself for one thing and that was your son living without a father. A little part of you regretted not telling Kris. Maybe he would have come after you and stopped you but then you shrugged the feeling away. He wasn’t going to come. If he cared, he would have come looking for you regardless.
“Shhhh,” you glared at your son and began walking.
Kris turned around once again hoping to get a glimpse of you but you and his son were long gone and he was never going to know about it.

You looked at the door and then your watch. Kris was supposed to meet you at the coffee shop an hour earlier. The waiter came up to you twice and even he was getting frustrated. There were more people waiting in the line to be seated.
“Ma’am do you want to order something?” he asked you for the third time.
“Huh! Aaa no I’m fine,” you said sounding completely lost.
“I’m afraid we are going to have to tell you to leave then. There are a lot of people waiting in line,” he said with an apologetic face.
“Oh,” you sighed in embarrassment. “Alright, I guess I’ll just leave then,” you mumbled while getting up. Just then Kris walked in. You were happy for a second but the feeling was quickly replaced by anger. Kris walked towards you timidly. He knew you were mad since you were glaring at him.
“I’m really sorry,” he said nervously.
“It’s alright,” you said trying to calm yourself and walked right past him.
“__________, wait” he followed you out of the coffee shop. “I’m really sorry,” he said catching up to you.
“I said, it’s alright!” you said sounding even more mad this time.
“Umma didn’t let me leave. Believe me I tried.” He said once again.
“It’s the same excuse every time isn’t it?” you suddenly snapped back. Kris tried to put his hands on your shoulder but you shrugged them off. “Why don’t you just tell them? Things will be so much better if they know.”
“You know if I tell them what’s going to happen. Why would you say such a thing?”
“Because I’m tired of this Kris. I really am!”
Instead of yelling back Kris tried to calm himself. Firstly because you guys were standing in the middle of the street, secondly because he knew that it was his fault for keeping you waiting for an hour and finally because he wanted to avoid the topic you’d just started.
“Okay, how do you want me to make it up to you?” he asked rather softly. Your anger melted too a little bit. You’d seen him after so long, you didn’t want to fight either.
“I don’t know,” you sighed but frustration was still visible on your face.
“I’m in the mood for some .. BUBBLE TEA,” Kris said trying to sound excited. He knew bubble tea always cheered you up. He was right. It did work. Your mood changed. He put his arm around and the two of you walked to your favorite shop.
*****************************************
Kris stared at you with a big smile on his face as you gulped your bubble tea.
“What?” you chuckled and hit him on his hand.
“Nothing,” he said shaking his head as if embarrassed of getting caught for staring at you. He couldn’t control his smile.
“Let’s go somewhere on your birthday this year!” he said suddenly.
“Where?” you asked.
“I don’t know. Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong. Where ever you want to go.”
“Really?” you asked excitedly.
“Ye,” he nodded.
“Hong Kong!—I want to hear you speak Canto,” you winked.
“Hong Kong it is then!” Kris announced. “But it’ll have to be a short trip. Starting next month, I’ll have a lot of schedules so we can’t spend a lot of time there.”
“What are you going to tell your parents?”
“Ahh, I’ll figure something out.”
“Alright,” you nodded.
*************************************************************
You couldn’t sleep. You felt your heart sink at the sound of the thunderstorm. Your instinct was telling you that something bad was about to happen. Shuffling restlessly in bed, you tried to calm yourself. You stayed in that state for two hours then sleep started taking over you. You clenched the sheet tightly and closed your eyes.
A half hour later, you felt someone slip in the bed besides you. You weren’t afraid because this wasn’t the first time Kris had done this. He usually came to visit late at night.
“I’m so glad you came,” you mumbled. He kissed you on your neck.
“Me too,” he murmured.
You felt something wet on your bare shoulder but you didn’t take enough notice. Then slowly, you heard Kris’s sniffles. The very next instant, you sat up.
“What’s wrong?” you asked trying to find his face in the dark. Kris didn’t respond. You turned on the side lamp so you could see what was wrong. Kris’s eyes were red and puffy. He hadn’t just started crying. It seemed like he’d been crying for a long time.
“What’s wrong oppa?” you asked once again. Kris didn’t respond but instead looked away.
“Oppa! Please tell me what’s wrong? You’re scaring me!” you squeezed his hand.
“Umma saw us together at the Bubble Tea shop the other day,” he said slowly. You felt like somebody had put a huge rock on your heart and crushed it. You knew his mother hated you. In fact his entire family hated you and your family. If your brother hadn’t run away with his sister, things would have been much better for the two of you. Kris was saying something but you couldn’t make sense of his words. Your teary eyes were fixed at his shaking body.
“____________,” he shook you.
“Ye,” you said shaking your head.
“Umma and Appa, were really mad. I’ve never seen them this mad.”
“Did you try to convince them?” you asked, without any hope.
He nodded. “I did, but they didn’t listen.”
You felt like your throat was getting dry. Your vision was blurred by the tears flowing down your cheeks. “So what does it mean?”
“I have to go __________,” Kris said trying to free his hand from your strong grip.
“No! oppa,” you whispered.
“I’m sorry __________,” he said getting up.
“You can’t do this. You know I can’t live without you.” you caught hold of his hand once again.
Kris kept shaking his head. “You know I love you ___________ and I always will but we can’t be together. I can’t go against their will.”
“We can convince them, together.”
“It’s not that simple!” he freed himself from you and began to leave. You could feel the world crashing as his hands slipped out of yours. Kris stopped by the door and came back to you. He kissed you on your lips. You knew it was going to be your last one. You could taste his salty tears and he, yours.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered pulling away. Before you could stop him, Kris left.
You collapsed on the ground and buried your face in your hands. The storm in your heart was much stronger than the howling wind outside.
**************************************************************
You passed your days staring into blank space. Your friends cried at your condition. They’d called Kris many times but he never picked up.
“_________ snap out of it,” your friend shook you. “It’s your birthday today. Let’s go out?”
**FLASHBACK**
‘Let’s go somewhere on your birthday this year!” he said suddenly.
“Where?” you asked.
“I don’t know. Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong. Where ever you want to go.”
“Really?” you asked excitedly.
“Ye,” he nodded.
A tear rolled down your cheek. You turned to your friend. “He promised me he would take me to Hong Kong on my birthday.”
“He’s not in your life anymore _________,” she said pulling you into a hug. You began crying. You cried a lot but it didn’t make you feel any better.
You wanted to give it one last try therefore you decided to go Kris’s house and beg his parents. You didn’t care about yourself respect. All you wanted was to be with him.
**********************************************************
You hesitated before knocking on the door. To your surprise, instead of one of Kris’s family members showing up, Luhan opened the door. You looked at him with questioning eyes.
“Where’s Kris?” you asked clearing your throat.
“____________, you shouldn’t be here.”
“I know but just let me talk to him once.”
“No I mean it. Kris is getting married soon. Go!” he said, sternly.
You had not seen that coming. “What?” you gasped.
Luhan nodded apologetically. “If his mother sees you here, God knows what will happen. So please go,” he insisted closing the door on you.
A few days ago, you felt like somebody had ripped your heart out of your body. You were wrong. What you felt today was incomparable to any pain you’d received in the 23 years of your life.
This was it. It really was.
**************************************************************
8 years later
You hated walking to work in the winters but you really didn’t have a choice. The little money you earned from the bubble tea shop you’d opened a few years ago was not enough for you to buy yourself a car. You fixed your glasses and wrapped your coat tightly around you.
“So how was last night?” your friend suddenly appeared from behind you and asked.
“Oh my God, you scared me,” you said holding your hand close to your chest.
“Ahaha, sorry.”
The two of you began walking again.
“Tell me,” she asked again, nudging your elbow.
“Ah, it was okay but he really isn’t my type. “ you wrinkled your nose.
She hit you on the shoulder. “This is why you won’t ever get a guy.”
“I’m absolutely fine with that,” you said with the fake smile that you’d been giving for the past eight years. The two of you reached the store. You unlocked the door and went inside.
“At least move near the city. It’s more lively there. Your business will be much better too.” She nagged you as usual. You sighed and listened to her with a smile on your face. This had been your morning routine ever since you’d opened the store.
“Hey’ I’m going to need you to do me a favor.” You asked her. She turned around and looked at you.
“We’re running out of tapioca. I couldn’t go last night because somebody had set me up on a blind date,” you said giving her a look. “So I want you to get them.”
“Okay but it’ll take me some time,” she said walking out the door.
It had been two hours and your friend hadn’t returned. You were regretting sending her. Nobody really came in the mornings. You were busy doing the math for the month’s budget when someone walked in.
“We don’t have tapioca so we won’t be able to serve bubble tea. Is there anything else you want?” you asked without looking up.
“Ummm, hot chocolate would be fine,” the person said. The voice was familiar. Very familiar. You instantly looked up. Kris was standing right before you looking at the menu on the wall. You turned around immediately to hide your face but more importantly to hide your tears. All those years that you’d kept them inside of you; they were coming out at his sudden appearance.
“Are you okay Ma’am?” Kris asked upon hearing your sniffles.
You covered your mouth and nodded.
“____________!” Kris whispered your name. He knew it was you. He remembered the fragrance you wore everyday and the way you cried softly.
You began to walk towards the kitchen but he held your hand and turned you around. You felt like everything around you had stopped for a second. You had wished for this moment for so long, that you didn’t think it was ever going to come true. Kris had teary eyes too. He kept repeating your name again and again and hugged you. You pulled away.
“Go home Kris,” you said angrily.
“__________ please listen to me.” He said holding your hand.
“No!” you shook your hand even though your heart said yes.
****************************************************
Your eyes moved from here to there. The cold wind kept hitting your face, making you want to cry even more.
“Why did you bring me here?” you asked keeping your eyes fixed on the ground.
Kris didn’t respond. You peeked at his face. He was looking at you with the same loving smile from years ago. You could never tell what was behind that smile. The smile suddenly disappeared and remorse took over. He swallowed a spit in his dry throat to get himself ready to speak.
“Where had you been all these years?”
“Does it matter anymore?” you asked after a while. You looked at him for a brief second and then looked away. You were ashamed of the wrinkles on your face and your eyes bags. You weren’t young anymore but he still looked young and fresh. You’d done this to yourself but you didn’t regret any moment of it.
“Married?” he asked.
You weren’t sure what to say. You knew well that Kris was married and he probably had a three year old child waiting at home for him. After a while, you shook your head. A smile broke on his face but you didn’t see it.
“Dated?” he asked again.
“Once for two months,” you said. Knowing the answer already you still asked him. “What about you?”
“Still single.” He replied after a long pause.
His answer had surprised you. You looked at him with your eyes wide open.
“But..” you began to say.
“Didn’t work out,” he complete for you, shaking his head. You felt like some sort of weight had been lifted from your heart. If you weren’t happy than neither was he. He was just as miserable as you. Who’s fault was it though? His parents? Who had ruined your life. Two people who loved each other so much were separated and neither of them were happy. There youth had faded. The time that they were suppose to spend with each other was lost now and it could never come back. Tears were coming back again but this time you controlled them.
“I have to go now.” you said fixing your glasses and getting up. Kris didn’t stop you. He had walked out of your life in the same way. His heart poked him repeatedly to call after you but his lips seemed to be locked.
**********************************************************
The next morning was surprisingly pleasant. Still struggling to forget the previous day’s events you walked to the store.
“Ahhh where are the keys,” you said in frustration, while shuffling your handbag. Your eyes fell on a small envelope by the door. You leaned down and picked it up. It wasn’t sealed. Two papers revealed as you opened it. It was a ticket and the other paper read a message – ‘I still owe you a trip to Hong Kong’.
A smile broke on your face. All the convincing that you’d done the night before, that what you did was right didn’t mean anything anymore. Your heart wanted to be with him. Without thinking twice, you began walking back home.
Two hands pulled you into an alley and the next instant your lips were connected to the very familiar soft lips. You could taste the salty tears except that this time they were tears of joy. You could feel him smiling. You were smiling too. It wasn’t his fault or your fault but if fate was giving you two another chance, you were going to grab it with both hands.

The weird feeling in your stomach was coming back again. You’d tried to control it for so long but as the time was nearing for you to walk up on the stage, it started coming back.
“You’ll be fine ________. You’ll be fine,” you told yourself repeatedly. You really wished Luhan was there to support you but his busy schedules always took up all his time.
“__________, you’re up!” One of your teachers told you from behind.
“Do I have to do this?” you asked.
“It’s your fault for being so smart,” she replied giving you a comforting smile. Yeah it really was your fault for being such a high achiever that you had to give a speech at your graduation. You felt like your heart pounding and sweat beads forming on your forehead. You had never been nervous in your life. Blinded by the bright light, you slowly walked up to the stage. You didn’t realize that you were holding your stomach tightly with one of your hands. It was only when the Dean gave you a strange look, that you quickly slid it to the side.
“Anneyonghaseyo,” you said, holding the podium tightly. You closed your eyes one last time and then opened them again. A familiar but hazy images appeared in front of your eyes. ‘Is that Luhan? No, no it can’t be. He’s too busy. Why would he come…. Oh wait no that really is him. He’s really here. Yayyyyy. Oh God, why is he waving at me?? Everybody is staring at him. Gosh Luhan stoppp’
“_______, ahem ahem,” the Dean said your name and cleared his throat. You shook your head and began once again. This time you felt more confident since Luhan was there and he was looking right at you. He gave you a thumbs up. You smiled briefly and resumed with your speech.
**********************************************
Luhan ran towards you and lifted you in the air. “That was a beautiful speech ________.”
“Put me down oppa, everybody is looking at us,” you said while laughing uncontrollably. He hugged you once your feet touched the ground.
“I’m so proud of you.”
“Gomawo.” you said, looking at him lovingly. “I didn’t think you were going to come.”
“Then why did you send the invitation?”
“Just in case..”
“Why wouldn’t I come? It’s the biggest day of your life. Well no not really. The biggest day of your life is yet to come, if you know what I mean and then..”
You connected your lips to his to stop him from rambling on and on.
***********************************************************
Your phone had been buzzing for the past 10 minutes. You finally decided to pick it up.
“Hello,” you said with a sleepy voice.
“Open the door.”
“Huh?”
“I’ve been standing outside for the past 10 minutes.”
“Oh God, Oppa seriously!” you exclaimed getting out of bed.
“It’s only 10 o clock and you’re a sleep already?” Luhan said walking in.
“Yeah I had a long day,” you said following him into the living room.
“What’d you do?”
“Job hunting,”
“Oh I’ve been there. It’s horrible.”
“No you haven’t. You didn’t even finish college and SM took you in,” you said hitting him on the shoulder.
“It’s the charms _____,” he said pulling you closer to him. He bit his lips and looked at you with his puppy dog eyes.
“Umm those don’t work on me,” you said playing with his hair. Luhan pulled you even closer to him and kissed you on your sweet spot.
“Aish, that tickles.” You giggled and tried to push him away. A smile spread on his face but he didn’t stop. You had to surrender. His soft hands worked their way under your shirt.
“__________, I want to tell you something,” Luhan said between short pauses.
“It’s Sehun isn’t it?” you said.
“What???” Luhan suddenly pulled away and chuckled. “You saw the Sina live chat too?” he asked while blushing.
“Obviously!” you laughed.
“This is so embarrassing.” He said scratching his head
“No it’s not. I think it’s pretty cute,” you winked at him.
“Aish!,” Luhan pouted.
“Okay so what is it that you want to tell me?”
Luhan shifted towards you and took your hand in his.
“Actually I want to ask you something!”
“Ahan,” you nodded.
Luhan pulled you closer to him. He had a very serious expression on his face. “________, we’ve been going out for three years now. You’ve graduated out of university too so I was thinking.. if… aaa,” he swallowed a spit. “ I was thinking .. I mean I want…to have .. a baby.”
“Huhhhh?” you exclaimed with your eyes wide open and jumped back. You calmed yourself immediately because as you thought about it, the question wasn’t that surprising after all.
“But oppa..” you trailed off. You’d spoken too soon. You needed some time to think. “Ummm I don’t know what to say,” you said looking away. Luhan was still holding your hand firmly.
“What do you mean?” he asked as if demanding an answer.
“I’m not sure oppa. Taking care of a child is a big responsibility.”
“You don’t think I’m ready for it?” he asked.
“No, no that’s not it,” you said turning around to face him. You placed your hand on his cheek.
“Then what is it?”
“We’re both too young.”
“So what? We should start early.”
You had to admit, his comment was funny. A smile broke on your face.
“I don’t think I’m ready yet.” You said.
“Why?”
You snapped your fingers as if you knew that the excuse you were going to make was going to win you the argument. “My figure,”
“What about it?”
“I don’t want to mess it right now!” you pouted.
“It doesn’t matter what you look like, I’ll still love you ________. It’s what’s on the inside that matters. I’m not that shallow and you know that too,” Luhan said squeezing your hand.
You were running out of excuses. You tired one last time. “I still have a career to start oppa.”
“You can still continue it.”
“Why don’t you understand oppa? I’m just not ready at the moment. I’m not in that state of mind yet and I certainly don’t want to rush things as if now. Please don’t push me.”
Luhan’s mood suddenly changed. You weren’t sure if it was because of your last statement or if he had just given up. He slid your hand off of his and got up. Disappointment showed clearly on his face.
“You know what _______, Just forget it.”
“Oppa!” you called after him but he’d left already. Everything happened so quick, you didn’t know what to do. You wanted to go after him but you changed your mind instantly since both of you needed some time to think.
*********************************************************
You knocked on the door for the third time before Lay opened the door. The eye bags from not sleeping the night before were clearly visible on your face.
“You alright?” he asked.
“Yeah I’m fine. Where’s Luhan?”
“In his room!”
“Oppa?” you said poking your head inside Luhan’s room.
He looked up at you and then looked away.
“Are you still mad?” you asked sitting next to him.
“What do you think?” he asked.
“I don’t want us to fight, please,” you insisted. “Can’t we just talk it out?”
“We did. Yesterday!”
You thought about what to say next since the situation was very sensitive. “I do want this to, just not at the moment. “
He furrowed his eyebrows to show his disapproval of your statement.
“What? So you’re just going to let me go if I don’t say yes?” you asked. As expected he didn’t say anything. You were a little frustrated too but you had to convince him somehow. Maybe not that day but sometime later. You got up to leave but Luhan held your hand.
“Of course not,” he said looking at you now. He took a deep breath and pulled you to sit down next to him. “I don’t want to force you into this. If we will do this, we should do it happily.” He still looked upset but he was trying.
A smile appeared on your face.
“Thank you,” you said and gave him a hug. He rubbed your back and rested his chin on your shoulder.
“Just don’t make me wait for long,” he whispered.
“I won’t, I promise.”

Lay looked tired when he got back home.
“Long day?” you asked.
“Aneyo,” he shook his head settling down on the couch, next to you.
“Go change first.”
“Just give me some food first,” he said sounding frustrated.
“Is something wrong?” you asked sensing the irritation in his voice.
“Nothing.”
“Are you sure?”
“Ye,”
You didn’t want to ask again and again and irritate him more therefore you got up to get dinner ready. If it was something important he would tell you when the time was right.
“Apppppaa,” your four year old came running out of the room and jumped on top of Lay.
“How was your day?” Lay chuckled and kissed him. Hyo showed a thumbs up.
“Good boy,” Lay played with his hair. “Now let’s go change before mommy gets mad.”
“Appa you have to chang, I don’t,” Hyo said while laughing.
“Aish, you got appa.”
****************************************
“Dinner’s readdddyyyyyy,” you announced from the kitchen.
“I’m coming,” Lay replied from the room.
Everybody finally settled down on the table.
“Hyo, honey how many times have I told you not to put your elbows on the table,” you said giving him one of your classic motherly glares.
“Mianhamnida,” he said biting his tongue.
“___________ah, there’s something I have to tell you,” Lay said without looking at you.
“Hmmm.”
“We might have to move to a different apartment.”
“What!!!!” you exclaimed. Your sudden reaction scared Hyo a little bit. You calmed yourself and asked again , in a lower tone this time.
“That one’s much bigger and better than the this one and it’s in the city too so we won’t have trouble with transport.”
“But..”
“Trust me it’s for the better,”
You looked at Hyo. He was busy playing with his food. You wanted to make sure he wasn’t paying attention to your conversation.
“It’s not for the better and you know that too Lay. Hyo just changed his school 2 months ago. We can’t be moving again.”
“The school that he’ll go to is much better than this one.”
“Well I don’t want to disturb him.”
“He won’t be disturbed.”
You took a deep breath and continued eating. You didn’t want to argue with him in front of Hyo.
************************************************
You hadn’t exchanged a single word with Lay ever since dinner finished. You tucked Hyo into bed and went back to your room. Lay watched you clean the mess that he’d created in the room. You were moving back and forth, frustration clearly visible on your face.
“Say something!” he said suddenly.
You looked at him and then looked away.
“I already signed the lease.”
“You what?” He had taken you by surprise once again.
“We don’t have a choice any more. We have to move by next month.”
“Why didn’t you tell me about this?” you asked.
Lay didn’t have an answer.
“Am I not a part of the decision making? Does my opinion not count at all?”
“It does,” he said getting up and walking towards you.
“This was a really big decision and you took it without me,” you said. You were really hurt. You couldn’t believe he’d made all the arrangements without consulting you.
“Why are you making such a big deal out of it?” Lay shouted.
“Oh so I’m the one making a big deal out of this?”
“Yes you are!” he emphasized.
You were dumbfounded. He’d never acted like this before.
“So you come home and tell me that we have to move in one month without even bothering to ask me if it’s okay? Do you not care about how this will impact Hyo and me?”
“I do, that’s why I made this decision.”
“That’s right! You made this decision. And as far as I remember we used to make decisions. What happened to that?”
“Stop making it seem like I did something wrong.”
“You did do something wrong,”
“_________ be quiet!”
“You know what… just… whatever,” you flung your hands in frustration and turned around. Your heart sank at the sight of Hyo standing by the door with tears rolling down his cheek. He wiped them and quickly ran into his room. Both you and Lay didn’t realize how loud you were. Hyo had heard everything. You ran after him. He’d hid in the corner and clenched his legs to his chest, hiding his face in his hands.
“Hyo are you alright?” you asked trying to pull his hands away from his face.
He shook his head.
“What’s wrong?” you asked.
He hugged you tightly. “Are you and daddy going to get a divorce just like Eunsol’s parents?”
His questions ran a shudder through your body. How could a mind as young as his think of something like this. You gasped since words failed to form.
“Why would you say that?” Lay said settling besides the two of you. Hyo pulled away from you and looked at his appa.
“Because you and umma are fighting,” he pouted. Lay wiped the tears from his soft cheeks.
“That doesn’t mean we will get a divorce. Appa loves Umma,” he said putting his arms around you and signaled you to smile. You did as he said. “And Appa loves Hyo too.”
He took Hyo from you and kissed him on the cheeks.
“It’s way past your bed time young man. Don’t you have school tomorrow?” Lay picked him and put him in his bed. You came up beside him and gave him a comforting smile.
“Sleep tight,” you said patting him on his chest. He gave you a reassuring smile that he was fine.
You didn’t know where your argument with Lay stood at the moment. You were still thinking about it while walking back to the room. Just as you were about to slide into bed he held you from behind.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered. You turned around to face him. For some reason all your anger flushed out.
“I’ve realized that I was being selfish. I’ll go talk to them tomorrow and see if I can cancel the lease.”
You waited a bit before replying. You wanted to think about it.
“How about we go look at the apartment first?” you suggested.
A smile spread on his face. He leaned in and kissed you on your lips once, twice and then three times.
“Let’s never fight again?”
You nodded your head in agreement before connecting your lips with his, again.

After writing this scenario I found out that LAY ACTUALLY IS A VERY MESSY boy! I feel like I have a heart to heart connection with him since I knew it before somebody posted it on tumblr T_T yayyy
Requested by anon
“__________ ah, why didn’t you wake me up?” Lay said running around the room looking for his stuff.
“Huh!, what time is it?” you asked, also jumping out of bed.
“It’s 10 o clock. I was supposed to be there at 9.”
“Oh my God, umm I don’t know why the alarm clock didn’t work!” you said looking around for it. After looking for quite a while you found it in the corner of the room. You picked it up only to find that there were no batteries in it.
“Lay, did you punch the clock again?” you asked remembering the last time he did it and the batteries flew out to the other side of the room. Lay didn’t hear you. He was too busy looking for his pants in the pile of cloths in the basket. You looked around; the room was really a mess. Both of you had been up all night taking care of Yu chin, your one year old son.
“Lay!” you said his name again.
“Huh! Yeah I might have,” He replied.
“Great. Now I’m going to have to get another clock.” You sighed and walked out of the room to make breakfast for him.
“Aaaa,” you heard him cry in pain.
“What happened?” you yelled from the kitchen.
“Tripped over his toy,” he said coming out of the room. “You need to clean it up a little bit. It took me a half hour just to find my socks.”
“Yeah, I’ll do it.”
“No I really mean it this time. The house is a mess.” He said with a more serious tone this time.
“I’ll do ittt,” you tried not to sound irritated. It would only get him mad and you didn’t want that.
“Okay I’ll see you later,” he said giving you a quick peck.
“But what about breakfast?” you called from behind him.
“Ahh, I’ll be fine,” he said waving.
You made breakfast for yourself and settled it on the table. Just as you began to eat, Yu chin began crying. You took a deep breath and got up.
“Awww no no no, don’t cry,” you said wiping his tears and holding him close to your chest.
“Are you hungry? you laid him on the bed.“Aaa no no don’t cry I’m going to get you some milk okay.” You said turning around but he didn’t stop crying. You had no choice but to take him to the kitchen with you, knowing it wasn’t safe.
You took the milk out of the microwave and began to check if it was warm enough. Instead of a few drops dripping out of the bottle, all the milk dropped on the floor. You had forgotten to tighten the lid.
“Oh my God what am I doing?” you yelled in anger. Yu chin was still crying in your arms. You took a deep breath and started all over again.
“Why are you crying so much today?” you said putting the bottle in his mouth. He stopped crying and looked right back at you with his big beautiful eyes. You caressed his cheek with your finger. Your over flowing love came out in form of tears. “I love you so much,” you said placing a soft kiss on his forehead. Him and Lay were the only two reasons you lived for.
Yu chin fell asleep before you knew it. You tucked him back into his crib and went into the kitchen to clean the mess you’d created earlier. You felt a slight pain in your back but ignored it. You’d promised Lay to clean this mess. He was right, the last time the two of you saw the house clean, was on Lay’s birthday party.
It was almost 3 in the afternoon and you still had some cleaning left to do. You heard your stomach growl. ‘Oh I forgot to eat, lunch…and….breakfast’ – you realized. You puffed your cheeks in frustration and went to the kitchen to set yourself a nice meal. You deserved it after such a day.
Just as you were about to take your first bite, Yu chin started crying again. You ran into the room to check on him. You cleaned his diapers and fed him once again.
He didn’t go to sleep however. He wanted to play. You spread out all of his toys in the living room so he could play and move around a bit.
As much as you wanted to sleep, there was no time. Lay was soon going to be home and besides you had to do some job hunting.
**********************************************
“___________ah,” Lay called your name entering the house.
“I’m here!” you replied.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
“Job hunting.”
You looked up from the laptop screen only to find Luhan, Suho Kris and Chanyeol standing beside him.
You sprung off of the couch.
“Oh I didn’t know you guys were coming,” you scratched your head.
You saw Lay’s eyes move around the room and then back at you. He seemed mad. You had forgotten to clean the living room.
“Yeah, we just wanted to catch up,” said Luhan.
“What’s for dinner?” Chanyeol asked excitedly.
“Uhhh,” you couldn’t think of anything because you obviously hadn’t made anything. “Umm ram yeon,” you replied lunging towards the kitchen to prepare it.
“It’ll be ready in just a minute,” you informed them from the kitchen.
“Take your time. We’re not in a hurry,” Suho replied settling on the little space available on the couch.
******************************************************
After saying goodbyes to the boys Lay turned towards you. He was still mad.
“I asked you for one thing. One thing and you can’t even do that?” he suddenly yelled. You jumped back in surprise.
“Why didn’t you respond to my text?” he snapped again.
“Text .. message?” you repeated in a whisper.
“Ye, I told you the guys were coming tonight.”
Great. Now you couldn’t even blame him for not informing you ahead of time. It really was your fault.
“I’m really getting tired of this now _______. Why don’t you ever do anything around the house? It’s always dirty. I can never find anything because nothing is in its right place. You need to stop being lazy and start cleaning around.”
He didn’t stop for once. You knew you were at fault but it wasn’t like you hadn’t done anything all day. It was hard taking care of a one year old and then cleaning at the same time.
“And then on top of that you want to start working again? I told you, you didn’t need to work for now. Just focus on the house okay. I don’t want to come back to this mess every day. Do you know how embarrassing it was in front of the guys? And then the food.. it wasn’t prepared because obviously you were too busy doing other things to look at my message.”
“At least I made it on time,” you pitched in.
“Okay then clean this now,” he said with a harsh tone.
“I’m tired,” you replied with an annoyed face.
“What did you do all day that you’re so tired? You don’t do anything,” he shouted this time.
That was it. He’d hit your breaking point.
“Don’t say that,” you whispered wiping your tears and ran into the room.
Lay sighed but stood there in silence. He decided to go check on Yu chin who was surprisingly still asleep. He opened the door to the room slowly. It was clean. He hadn’t come inside the room ever since he’d come back home. Slight guilt took over him. He kissed Yu Chin and walked back to your room. It was clean too, unexpectedly. He felt even more guilty now. You quickly got up and wiped your tears.
“Did Yu chin wake up?” you asked, hurriedly walking towards the door but he held your hand. You didn’t want to make eye contact with him.
“I’m sorry,” he said, forcing you to turn towards him.
You were still upset.
“I said a lot didn’t I?” he asked.
You nodded.
“I’m sorry,” he said embracing you. “I should have realized that you do a lot around the house and I’m never there to help.”
You tightened your arms around him.
“Come on, let’s do it together,” He said pulling away and now looking straight at you. He cupped your face in his hands. “Don’t cry.”
You shook your head. “You don’t have to. I’ll do it myself.”
“Aneyo,” he pulled you out of the room so both of you could clean. Just then Yu chin began crying. Both of you looked at each other and a smile spread on your faces.

While writing this I realized that not every scenario has to be cheesy or have a lot of intense action. Sometimes normal life scenarios are a nice read too. I hope you guys agree.
BTW—> I did punch my clock once and my mom found it and the batteries in two opposite corners of the room. I pretty much killed it =___=
***** Congratulations to -aww-sehunyoucutie for making me cry last night! This scenario is REALLY sad [ at least to me, since I LOVE Lay so much I can’t even think of leaving him —> in the fictional story in my head. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy reading this! .. Sorry for the sad scenarios recently but thats pretty much what I have on my request list for now*****
Lay danced.
And danced.
And danced.
Beautifully, you always added, but just danced and danced. For the longest time.
It was wonderful and you loved watching, yes, but you wish you could just tell him to stop, or take a break. And you did, sometimes, but only for water. You knew what was coming when he asked you out on the first date, and asked you to go steady after that. Even so, though you loved him so much, there was still loneliness.
You’d loved him for a long time. First, as his fan, he was the one your heart always beat the loudest for, then, as a girl, because the time that you spent working at the training centre made you feel real warmth and a soft ache in your chest whenever his name came up. You were raised overseas, but Mandarin was your first language, Korean, you started to learn after elementary school. You came to Korea for University, and, by some stroke of luck, managed to land a job with the trainees, and, of course, the bands that came.
Lay was practicing again, long after the other members had stopped and gone out to eat. You went and bought him some food, hoping that he’d at least stop for a late 9pm dinner. His skin was glazed over in sweat. The short breaths that he drew, coupled with the fierce look across his features used to make your heart race, but now, it made you feel a bit sad.
”YiXing,” you called albeit softly, not wanting to disrupt him too much, even though you knew it would have the same effect, “Stop to eat, please?”
You often had to plead him until he would sigh and stop unhappily. You never acted like you were disheartened, but you were. He continued to dance, probably too absorbed to even notice you. You gave up. These days, the determination to get him to complete his basic needs was fading. You sighed softly and left the food in the room, as you walked out the door.
You didn’t cry, you just sat in a chair in front of a table and let your arms sprawl all over the top, laying, slumped over. You let it squish your face into whatever blob-like shape it desired, too uncaring and tired to bother even sitting right. The folding table was cool, calming your warmer cheek. It was comfortable, but you still felt a subtle desolate pain in your gut.
“Maybe we should break up,” you mumble to yourself, thinking aloud, as you did sometimes. You spoke to yourself frequently, not too much, just casual mumblings here and there, it wasn’t unusual.
You pause, wanting to sigh, but having it caught at your chest. You thought half seriously for a moment, then suddenly, you sat straight up.
“No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,” you shook your head vehemently. Over and over again, trying to knock the negativity out from inside you.
Your thoughts were conflicted. You always promised yourself that if a guy ever caused you hurt like that, you would leave straight away, regardless of how much you loved him. You were always independent, but somehow, even back then, you knew you wouldn’t be able to do it properly when it came.
Still, you contemplated it seriously. And even though you didn’t want to admit it, it sounded pretty good. You could break up, he probably wouldn’t care anyway. You stressed your lips a bit at the bitter notion. Still, you continued to list. There was never a problem with gossip and relationship between girls of the school, you were outspoken and cheerful, so you had a relatively healthy relationship with everyone in your department.
You could continue with University calmly, with your friends, no more being branded as ‘the girl who’s going out with an Exo member’, no more sad sighs, no more tiredness from staying up with Lay, no more feeling unloved, no more this, no more that. Your mind swirled with the wonderful possibilities that came with the freedom of being unattached to Lay.
Still, you came up with just as many bad ones. And these, you couldn’t help but hang onto. No more seeing the guys, laughing, having fun, no more soft caresses on the back of your head, no more having someone who loves you the way you love them, and that last one alone accounted for more than enough to stop you. The problem is, if you stay, then nothing ever changes…
You sigh into the table again, now folding together your arms so you could bury your face.
“…You… Are not going to cry, ____,” you whispered into your arms sternly, scolding the tears that pricked the back of your eyes, “Stop being stupid.”
You squeezed your eyelids down, furrowing your eyebrows in frustration, hoping that it’ll stop the tears. Tightly, you could feel your facial muscles shaking. Still, you felt the wet warmth soak straight into your sweater. You let out a shaky breath, propping yourself up and wiping away the tears with your sleeves roughly. The more you wiped, the more they flowed from your eyes.
You’ve already spoken to him about it, but you understood he needed and loved to practice dancing, so it didn’t go too far before you conceded and ended up encouraging him.
“Ah,” you semi-whimpered, cleaning up the last of your tears, sniffling.
You scolded yourself for being pathetic, shaking your head and taking off your damp-sleeved sweater, revealing a tank top. You sigh, for the umpteenth time that day, and decide to give up that night. Calmly and quietly, you decide to go home, without letting Lay know and saying an ‘I love you’. Somehow, you knew he wouldn’t care anyway.
Days passed. You didn’t try to contact him, he didn’t try to contact you. You received a text from Chanyeol, asking where you were, but none from Lay. You expected it, but it still hurt. On your end, there was crying, uneasiness. He didn’t need you, you couldn’t help but think. He didn’t. He was an idol. He sang, he danced. You were a nobody. Nothing special. So what to do, but cry.
That was it. You finally gathered up the little confidence in your actions you could find and got dressed. Pulling a decent shirt over your head, you could already feel doubt creating a space in your chest, but you force it down. This is better for us, you think, over and over again. Quickly grabbing your phone, you headed for the training centre. This is it.
You walked in quietly, poking your head into the room, you unexpectedly found everyone sitting down chatting. They were on break, then, you assumed. They all greeted you familiarly and warmly, a few members being exceptionally noisy. You couldn’t help but laugh, no matter how nervous you felt, it still comforted you. You waved back, entering the room.
Lay stood up, already leading you out the door, leaving the other members confused, but confusing you the most. Before you could even say his name, he shut the door and took you into another empty practice room.
“Yi-“
“Where have you been the past few days,” he asked calmly, leaning over you.
You were somewhat caught off guard, but secretly, and you would never tell him, you were happy, because him caring was something you wished for all the time. You widened your eyes, to look at him. He stared back, you could feel hope building itself in your gut.
“…A-ah,” you finally managed to sputter, looking down for a second, “Um… Just. Stuff.”
He looked at your once more before averting his gaze and turning to leave.
“Alright,” he told you, before walking out into the hall, to go back.
You were stunned.
Did he not care? Not at all? And here you thought that he did. You felt so stupid, upset, at yourself, at him. Everything was wrong. Everything was wasted. You should have broken up a long time ago, you thought bitterly.
He was already halfway down the hall, already a distance where you could just barely hear the soft thumps of his shoes on the cold floor. He didn’t even care to bring you back. You couldn’t help but cry a little. And you wiped it quickly, angry, your heart thumping. To the point where your knees were weak, you were upset.
“Yixing, I hate you!”
You flew into a rash storm of tears, not knowing what to do.
“You stupid idiot,” you shouted at him, from behind, still standing in the room, but you knew he heard you, “Know what? I’m the one who doesn’t care anymore, let’s just break up!”
You wiped your eye roughly with your sleeve. Sobbing softly, you could hear his footsteps hurrying toward you, and you had mixed feelings about this, because you just wanted to disappear from the embarrassment. You felt so stupid, dejected, fed up with him, but at the same time, you hoped with every existence of your being that he would come back.
The steps came closer, quick, running thuds. And he appeared quickly, the tears pricked at your eyes even more, flowing non-stop, no matter how hard you willed them to. You were humiliated, how stupid, how childish you were acting.
Instinctively, he threw his arms around you and buried your head in his embrace, holding onto you tightly. You wanted nothing more than to just stay, but you knew that you were different from before. The old you would have forgiven him without a second thought, but the new you refused, instead, pushing him off, and shaking your head slowly as you headed for the door.
“No, _______!” Lay’s voice echoed out to you.
It rung only too loudly in your hearing, tempting you to go back, but you shook your head softly. Biting your lip, you fled the hallway as quickly as you could, and that was the end.
A few days had passed, and not a single one went without a flurry of text messages, missed calls, and unanswered visits from Yixing. You wanted to run to him, but you thought resolutely, ‘no’. Only when you left would he care. And then if you went back, it would be back to the same, listless routine you were so used to. You were hurt, so hurt, you wanted your feelings to disappear, but you were only left with baseless want, desolately eyeing the small, almost nonexistent pattern printed on your bedroom wall.
The tears came so often, it was hard to tell when you were crying and when you weren’t. It all felt the same now. You wished hard, to be a person who can wake up one morning and forget all the feelings you have for a person. Just hope. You gathered the courage that overwhelmed you and weakened your knees and pulled up your laptop. As it turned on, you tried to stop yourself, but at the same time, you forced yourself.
Softly typing, silent, sniffling, you finally decided. Typing, typing, typing. Tears fell, but still typing.
Enter.
Pause.
A sharp intake of breath.
The anxiety that filled your chest, made you dizzy, but still, you smiled tentatively, your lips quivering ever so slightly, as a heavy tear rolled down the side of your sullen cheek.
Who knew that you would have the same reaction days later, when the confirmation email came, that yes. You were going to study abroad. That yes, you could finally sigh, a relieved breath, and let go of the hurt that stifled a heart begging for air, as it thumped erratically under your breast. That yes, for two years, you could finally laugh with the lighthearted tinkle you’d always dreamed of.
Wiping the tears with your fingers, all that was left was to pack.
Two years passed quickly. You grew, you changed, you laughed, you cried, and it was funny. How people change. That maybe, in an alternate world, you would still be demurely supporting Lay’s career, wasting time. You couldn’t help but laugh aloud, and have the girls in front of you shoot a weird stare.
Clumsily moving among the masses of people, you could hardly see in the dimmed light. The wild screams from the fans kept you aware of your surroundings, which was, undoubtedly a crows of screaming fans. Music started, you turned and watched. And there he was.
To say that it felt like time had stopped is inaccurate, but you could feel a nostalgic pressure form in your chest. Your jilted breath finally managing to flow fluidly, a smile slowly raises to your face, and you watch in silence. Your eyes become wet, but you don’t cry.
You shoot him one last smile, knowing that he couldn’t see you even if you wanted him to, but that was okay. You didn’t need to be seen. This was enough.
Holding your breath, you made your way back, forcing your way behind everyone, mumbling a ‘sorry’ and ‘excuse me’ every so often. Almost out, you suddenly turned around upon hearing a sea of screams and gasps, the large body of girls pushing harder against you. You hold your breath, seeing Yixing, who stared at you.
“Wait-!” he sputtered, as he struggled with the swarm of females, stepping off the large stage. The song stopped.
He’s seen you.
The thought imprinted itself into your comprehension.
You feel a tear drop, surprising you. You touch your face slowly. Letting out a small chuckle, you wipe your tear swiftly. You must have started crying some time ago.
Softly, a gentle smile is offered. A smile that was filled with gratefulness, void of regret, thankful that you’d met, and that he’d changed you. Thank you for letting me fall in love with you, you couldn’t help but put in there with your thoughts to him.
Only this small greeting, you turned back, making the rest of the way out. You finally felt the frigid air of the cool evening nip at your exposed skin. Still grinning, you walked a little further from those who entered late. Finding a small spot, you let yourself cry. In the cold air, you were finally free.
You thought it was funny, again. You didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry, so you did both. Crying, wearing a bright smile on your face, you couldn’t even care if someone wanted to think you were mentally unstable.
Just happiness, nostalgia, a twinge of reminiscent pain, but all of this made you smile. Because you smiled, you finally allowed yourself to cry. And still, you could only think, thank you, thank you, thank you.
With that, you walked home with a settled heart and a tear stained grin. Finally, finally, finally. It was the end. The bittersweet end. And you still managed to whisper to yourself.
“I still love you.”
The end. 8D I guess you could argue that Lay would find you and confess and you would be happy forever and ever, and I’m sure that would have happened. Or maybe not. Fjksjfls. Never know. :D Haha, I should have spent more time on it, but I really wanted to finish. Jfkaljfljaslfsdjflsjlf. Lolsorry. Alright. J Have fun.

“Were you out with him again?” Kris asked as you entered the apartment.
“Huh!” you jumped with surprise. “Aish, Oppa you scared me!”
“I asked you something.” He said with a stern voice.
“He has a name!” you sighed.
“Okay, were you out with Gonchin, again?” he asked you, trying hard not to lose his patience.
“Ye,” you replied settling besides him. “Why does it bother you so much?”
“I don’t like it when you’re around him,” he said straight up.
“Huhhh Oppa,” you pouted.
“I’m serious!”
You knew he was in no mood to have fun at the moment.
“Okay,” you said with a flat face.
Kris rolled his eyes and got up to change.
“Let’s go out for dinner.” He suggested.
“ Aaan, okay,” you replied unwillingly. He always did this. Got mad at you and then pretend like nothing was wrong.
**************************************************
“________ ah are you a sleep?” Kris asked shaking you.
“I’m trying to,” you replied. You felt him sliding closer to you. You could feel his soft breaths on your neck. It felt good. He gave you a peck on your cheek.
“Sorry for getting mad earlier,” he apologized. You turned around to face him.
“It’s okay,” you said. You couldn’t stay mad at him forever. He kissed you on your lips once, twice then three times before pulling the covers on top of both of you.
****************************************************
“Bye,” Gonchin hugged you before leaving. Just then Kris walked in.
“Hey Kris,” he greeted cheerfully.
“Hey,” he replied sounding like a sour ball.
“What was that?” you said making a face as Gonchin left.
“Nothing,” Kris made a brief reply before going to the bathroom.
“So are we doing something tonight?” you asked. You knew he was mad but you had to do something to change his mood. You only saw him on the weekends and so you wanted to make the most out of it.
“I don’t know. Whatever you want to do!” he replied with no emotion.
“How about the club?” you suggested. You were hoping the music and a few drinks were going to change his mood. Kris agreed and so the two of you went to the club.
******************************************
“Feeling better?” you asked him as Kris gulped down his second drink.
“Yeah!” he replied getting up.
“Where are you going?” you asked.
“To dance..” he replied walking towards the dance floor. You were surprised because he always took your hand and dragged you to dance with him.
Kris walked up to a girl who was wearing a rather provocative dress and offered his hand. You could tell how hard she was trying not to squeal as she accepted his offer. Kris brought her to the dance floor and began dancing. You knew he was trying to make you jealous but you weren’t going to fall for it. You pretended like it didn’t bother you at all. Kris turned around and looked at you. You gave him a thumbs up. Kris turned around and slid his hand on the girls bare legs, working his way up to her arms and then stopping them near her face. It made you a little uncomfortable but you tried to stay calm. Kris pulled the girl even closer and before you knew it, he leaned in kissed her on the neck. He didn’t stop after one and continued. You sprang out of your seat and lunged towards him. Grabbing his sleeve you turned him around.
“Oppa!” you cried in horror.
“What?” he replied carelessly.
You couldn’t take it and so you turned around to leave.
******************************************************
Kris caught your attention by slamming the door behind him as he entered the apartment. Instead of saying something to you, he went straight to the bathroom to change. It was as if he didn’t even see you sitting on the bed, glaring at him.
“So you’re not going to say anything?” you asked.
“Should I be?” he threw back a question without looking at you, pretending to fold his shirt.
You got out of the bed and walked up to him.
“You were kissing her oppa!” you reminded him.
“So?” he asked raising his eyebrows.
“If you want to be in a relationship with me then you shouldn’t be doing such stuff,” you said, sounding a little irritated at his behavior. Kris sighed and turned around.
“Answer me,” you pulled him. He turned around and shot a look at you.
“Well than you shouldn’t be hanging out with Gonchin either!” he yelled. You jumped back in surprise at his sudden reaction.
“What do you mean? I told you he’s just a friend.”
“Then consider that girl my friend too,” he made a face.
“You don’t kiss your friends on their necks.”
“Then you don’t hug them either.”
“It was just a hug. Why are you making such a big deal out of it?”
“You’re making a big deal out of it. I didn’t say anything until you brought it up,” he defended himself.
“Now you’re just being immature and ridiculous,” You scowled.
“I’m not the one being ridiculous,” he said taking a hold of your arms. You tried to pull away but he didn’t let go. You placed your arms on his shoulders so you could push yourself away but instead Kris pushed you back. You had barely kept yourself from falling when suddenly Kris’s palm touched your face with extreme force. It took you a few seconds to realize that he had slapped you. You looked at him with horror filled eyes. This was a side of him you’d never seen. He advanced towards you once again and grabbed you as if what he had done wasn’t enough. You whimpered.
“Oppa what are you doing?” you asked with a shaky voice.
He began to drag you towards the bed.
“No!” you screamed but he didn’t stop. You closed your eyes tightly. You didn’t want him to do this because you still loved him and if he did this you knew he was going to regret it. You couldn’t let him make this mistake.
“You’re a monster,” you blurted out pushing him. It wasn’t your push but your words that stopped him. He quickly pulled his hands away and buried his face in them. You didn’t know if he’d calmed down or not but you didn’t want to take any chances. You quickly got up and ran out of the room into the room next door.
************************************************
You opened your eyes to a puffy eyed Kris looking at you. He slid his hand on top of yours. You began to pull it away but he held them tightly pulling you towards him. He embraced you, resting his face on your shoulders. You felt something warm and wet on your shoulders. He was crying again.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered into your ear. You nodded your head in approval.
“Thanks for stopping me last night,” he said again. You pulled away and looked at him. He caressed your cheek. It still hurt a little.
“I am so sorry,” that’s all he could say. There were so many things he wanted to say but his tongue refused to speak.
“It’s okay,” you replied. You didn’t want him to say anything. You had known him for too long. You knew he loved you and you loved him. You just hoped that whatever had happened the night before never happened again.
“You can see Gonchin whenever you want too.”
“Shhhhhh,” you placed your finger on his lips. “Just don’t kiss another girl like that ever again okay?”
“I won’t, I promise.” He said, kissing you on your forehead.

I changed the plot a little bit since I already wrote something similar to this once!
I wrote this last night but I fell asleep as soon as I wrote the last line so I apologize if it seems a little off!
