Flashback
“But Umma,” you whined as you tried to form fake tears.
“When I said no, it means a no,” she snapped back with a stern voice .
“Umma..”
“We won’t talk about this anymore..” she said and left the room.
***********************************************
You remembered the conversation you’d had your mother as a tear rolled down your cheek. You never cried. Your friends told you, you had a heart made out of stone. They were right. Ever since your father left you didn’t feel any emotions. You wanted to show the world that you were strong but tonight you missed your eomeoni. It had been a week since you ran away from home just so you could attend Seoul Academy. Everything about it was great. The food was good, the living conditions were okay and best of all they had an amazing badminton program- the reason you went there. The only problem was that it was an ‘All Boys’ academy.
Ever since you were little you’d always been mistaken for a boy because of the way you kept your hair and the kind of cloths you wore. Your mother always nagged you about it but you used it in your favor. You were happy that you were here but you still missed her.
“Get up and get ready!” your roommate Shin, threw a shirt at you. He hated you. You’d made set rules. You didn’t want him changing, eating or lying naked in the room. He didn’t quite understand but he knew for sure that something was up.
You glared at him as you left the room. You were lost in your own thoughts when you bumped into someone.
“Ai, Mianhe,” he apologized holding your arms tightly. You looked up at him and for the first time you felt butterflies in your stomach. You didn’t realize that you’d been staring at him.
“Yo Key!” you roommate called out the guy’s name from behind.
“Hey man! Where have you been?” Key replied walking up to him
You shook your head and continued walking.
*******************************************
“Are you nervous?” You jumped at the sudden voice from behind you. It was him again. The guy from earlier that morning. You tried to recall his name.
“Aneyo,” you shoved your hands between your legs nervously.
He gave you a brief smile and got up for his turn.
“Hey coach!” he shook hands with the man standing across the badminton court.
You watched each and every move that he made. His hands moved swiftly in sync with his waist moving from side to side. A smile broke on your face and your head tilted sideways. You had no idea how silly you looked.
“It’s your turn!” Key waved his hand in your face.
“Huh? Ohh,” you shook your head. You were embarrassed. You scolded yourself for being so stupid. There was no way you were going to blow your cover and get kicked out of the school.
You couldn’t focus on the game because you knew he was watching you.
“You need a lot of practice,” the coach patted your back as practice finished. You closed your eyes and cursed yourself.
“It’s okay, don’t be upset.” He smiled at you.
“Gomawo,” you bowed and began to pack your stuff. It had been a week and this is the image you had created for yourself. You sighed and walked back to your dorm room.
***************************************
“Let’s chill out in your room,” Key asked your roommate.
“My room?” he laughed. “You haven’t seen my roommate. He’s so weird! He doesn’t let me do anything. I can’t change in the room. I can’t sleep naked in the room, like I don’t even know what his deal is. “
Key burst out laughing. “You know he might be …” he trailed off with a cheeky smile on his face.
Shin understood what he meant and both burst out laughing.
“Yeah maybe he doesn’t want to make you feel uncomfortable that’s why he wouldn’t come out straight up,” Key suggested.
hin frowned and rolled his eyes.
“Whatever, I just hate him.”
******************************************
You had no idea how obnoxious guys could be. You secretly wished Key would be in one of your classes but he wasn’t. He was an upper classmen and since he was such a good athlete, he barely went to any of his classes.
“Are you going to the party?” Shin asked you.
“No,” you replied without bothering to look up.
Somebody knocked on the door. Shin opened it.
“Hey come one man, let’s go!” Key said poking his head inside. You tried to ignore him.
“Yeah I’m coming,” Shin replied.
“Hey ________, don’t you wanna come?” Key asked you. You tried to act casual.
“Aaa, I’m not in the mood.”
“Oh come on, it’ll be fun,” Key said now walking towards you. He had a big smile on his face as if he was up to something. You gave him a strange look and went back to playing star craft.
“Seriously dude..” he insisted.
You thought for a while and finally got up. There was no harm in going, after all you were getting to spend more time with him.
“That’s my namja.” He slapped your back. It hurt but all you could do was smile even though you wanted to punch him.
**************************************************
You had never in your life been to a party with so many guys. In fact you had never been to a party in your life. All of this was new to you.
“So are you having fun?” Key came up besides you. You didn’t quite understand why he was giving you so much attention. He wasn’t like this two weeks ago.
“Ye,” you replied and looked away. His smile made you uncomfortable.
“Why are the girls here?” you suddenly turned around and threw a question at him.
“Girls? He chuckled. “We don’t see girls all year round. Don’t you think we deserve at least this,” he said and winked at you.
You rolled your eyes and looked away.
“You know you don’t seem like a guy..” Key began saying. Your heart sank. “I mean you don’t seem like the other guys here.“
“What do you mean?” you snapped back.
“You don’t seem interested in any of the girls here,” he smirked.
You scratched your head as your eyes wandered from here to there. You didn’t know what to say.
“You know what that’s alright..” he said looking at you. You looked at him with questioning eyes. “Let me slip in a secret to you,” he said and pulled you towards him.
“I like someone here,” he said.
You were disappointed but you couldn’t show it.
“Who?” you said with a meek voice.
He pointed towards a cute girl standing next to a guy in the corner. She was pretty and girly. You couldn’t even compare yourself to her. Tears were forming in your eyes but you fought them back.
“She’s pretty,” you remarked.
“She?” he gave you a look. “I meant him,” he said pointing to the guy next to him.
“What?” you gasped. You couldn’t believe it. He nodded and winked. Your eyes were still, wide open with surprise. Key messed your hair and left.
One guy, one guy that you ever like in your life and he turns out to be gay. You were so surprised that you began to laugh at your fate.
“Wow,” you said to yourself and shook your head.
******************************************************
You had tried to avoid eye contact with Key ever since the night at the party. Every time he’d see you, he’d pass one of his sexy smiles at you. He made you feel uncomfortable. At practices you made sure you wouldn’t go anywhere near him. You tried to keep as much distance as possible.
You were taking a shower at your usual time – 5 am- one morning when someone walked into the bathroom. The only reason you chose this time was because none of the guys got up that early but you were surprised today. You were panicking as you put on the shirt on your wet body. Water was dripping from your hair as you sneaked out but someone’s hand caught you. You turned around and of course- it was Key. He was almost naked with only a towel wrapped around his waist.
You were horrified. “What are you doing here?” you asked him.
He didn’t respond but pulled you closer to him. You couldn’t quite understand what he was doing. He carefully placed his hands on your waist. You could feel his warm breath on your face. It felt good yet awkward at the same time. You tried to create distance between you and him by placing your arms on his chest.
“Don’t pull away from me,” he said shaking his head. You looked away.
“I’ve started liking you ______,” he said moving the short strands of hair from your face.
“What?” you gasped. You liked him too but he was gay. You couldn’t spend the rest of your life with him pretending that you were a guy.
“Key hyung let me go,” you struggled but he maintained his strong grip.
“Please,” you whimpered.
He shook his head.
“I am not gay, I’m a girl” you yelled and used all your force to pull him away.
Instead of glaring at you Key began laughing. You were confused. Why was he laughing, it didn’t make any sense. He should have been devastated.
“What?” you shouted again.
“Shhhhh,” Key advanced towards you once again.
“I’m not gay,” he chuckled.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, I knew that you were a girl all along. I was pretending to be gay to freak you out.” He began laughing again.
“You knew all along?”
“Yeah, ever since I saw your sports bar in your bag at practice and then Shin told me the weird stuff you make him do so I figured it out,” he shrugged his shoulders.
You were embarrassed but more than that you were scared. He was going to tell the administration and you were going to get kicked out. You felt your hands getting numb. You had really screwed up this time.
“Please don’t tell anybody?” you got on your knees and begged.
He looked at you with a cocky smile on his voice. He wanted to have more fun and annoy you but the tears forming your in eyes changed his mind.
“Relax, I won’t tell anyone,” he sighed.
“Really?” you raised your eyebrows in surprise.
“Ye,” he replied.
“Gomawo hyung.. Oh I mean Oppa,” you corrected yourself. The two of you awkwardly stood in silence before you finally decided to leave. Once again Key held your wrist.
“What now?” you asked turning around.
He pulled you towards him. “I didn’t lie about what I said I liked you..” he said and looked away and then looked back at you. You couldn’t have imagined yourself in the arms of a hot, naked man. He was confessing his feelings for you. Your heart fluttered and your face blushed a hot pink. You shyly looked away.
“Don’t leave..” he said and leaned in giving you a peck on the cheek.

******Inspired from “Drunken confession” –by Jinyoung [B1A4]*******
Let’s get drunk tonight,” Baro suggested excitedly.
“What? No!” Jinyoung replied and continued to stare outside the window.
“Why not?” he shot back.
“I don’t know! I’m just not in the mood.” Jinyoung sighed.
“I have never seen a guy who would act more like a girl than you. Just go and tell her already instead of sitting by the window and staring at the stars,” Baro said trying hard not to laugh.
“Most girls would die for a sensitive guy like me,” Jinyoung snickered back.
“Why are you so scared of her?”
“I wish I knew. She’s just different from all the other girls I’ve been with. I get nervous around her…” Jinyoung trailed off.
“Okay that does it, we’re going to the bar,” Baro got up and clapped his hands.
Jinyoung shook his head making a face.
“I didn’t give you an option. I said we’re going.” He raised his eyebrows.
*****************************************
“When was the last time you had a drink?” Baro asked Jinyoung.
“I don’t remember,” he replied and rested his head on the table. “You shouldn’t have made me drink.”
“You’ll be fine.” Baro patted his back.
“I need some air,” Jinyoung said and left the bar.
He looked at his watch. It was almost midnight. He took his phone out and began to text you but stopped.
‘It’s been over a year Jinyoung, just tell her..’- a voice inside told him.It really had been over a year that he’d liked you. At first he thought it was just a little crush and he was going to get over it but nothing changed. He began falling deeper and deeper until there was no turning back.
Jinyoung began walking towards an unknown direction. His head hurt from all the drinking. He suddenly collapsed besides a bench.
He was extremely broken from inside. Tears began rolling down his cheek. He’d never felt more miserable. The feelings towards you were killing him. He wanted you to know that he loved you and wanted to spend each and every moment of his life with you.
He shook his head and got up to look around. It didn’t take him long to realize that he was in the park next to your apartments.
‘I guess love really does guide you..’- He thought to himself and a brief smile appeared on his face. It disappeared as soon as it came. He shuffled his pockets to find his phone. Before he could call you, it began ringing. He tried to open his eyes wider so he could see who it was.
“Hello..” he said meekly.
“Jinyoung, you called me?” you asked from the other end.
Jinyoung shook his head. He couldn’t believe he was hearing your voice.
“________, is it you? Is it really you?” he asked.
“Ye, but why did you call?” you repeated your question.
“I didn’t call you!” Jinyoung replied.
“Yeah you did, a half hour ago.”
“Oh Mianhe,” he apologized thinking he might have done it while he was drunk. “______, can you come to the park right now?”
“The park? But it’s freezing outside.”
“I’m already here,” he replied.
You looked outside your window. He really was there.
“Okay I’m coming.” You hung up and grabbed a blanket for Jinyoung.
******************************************
“It’s freezing out here. What are you doing?” You shouted from afar.
“Huh?” Jinyoung shook his head still trying hard to regain his senses.
“Are you drunk too?” you asked coming closer.
“No, no I’m not,” Jinyoung tried to stand straight up. You wrapped the blanket around him.
“I have to tell you something.” He whispered.
“Okay, but no here. Let’s go upstairs or you’ll get sick.”
“No, I want to do it right now,” Jinyoung insisted.
You placed your warm hands on his cold shivering hands and pulled him. “Come on.”
There was something about your touch, that brought him back to reality. He looked at you intently as if hypnotized by your presence. You pulled him and he followed you to the apartment.
“Sit here, I’ll make you some coffee.”
“No I don’t need it,” he held your hand and pulled you back. Jinyoung had never reacted like this. There really was something he wanted to say. You sat down beside him and looked at him with questioning eyes. He looked away as if afraid of saying what he was about to say. He closed his eyes and clenched his fingers. His silence was making you curious.
“_________, I love you!” he said with a shaky voice.
He’d taken you by surprise. How could he be in love with you when you guys barely talked to each other? He didn’t know anything about you and you didn’t know anything about him. His confession scared you instead of flattering you. You shook your head and began to get up but he held your hand.
“Please,” he looked at you with watery eyes. You settled back down. “I didn’t know when or how this happened but I really do love you.”
“You don’t know anything about me Jinyoung.”
“I do!” he snapped back. “Have you noticed nothing? The way I watch you the way I..”
“Jinyoung..” you tried to cut him but he cut you short.
“Just give me a chance.” His hands were shaking. “I’ve never felt more miserable. This feeling is eating me on the inside. Had I not confessed tonight I don’t know what would have happened to me.”
You felt bad for him. “Oppa, you’re drunk right now. You don’t know what you’re saying.”
“I know what I’m saying. I know my feelings are real,” he said with a stern voice. He seemed hurt.
“Give me one week?” he said desperately.
“What do you mean?” you asked.
“Stay with me for one week and if you feel like I’m not good enough for you then leave. I promise I will never show you my face again.”
You didn’t know what to say. If you refused he’d be devastated and that wasn’t what you wanted. You watched him look at you eagerly. Did he really love you that much?
You nodded your head in approval and looked away. A smile spread on his face. Now all he had to do was show you how much he loved you.
***********************************************
When you woke up you found Jinyoung sitting on the couch staring into space.
“Do you remember anything from last night?” you asked.
He looked at you and shook his head. You were disappointed. You knew, he was just like any other guy who confessed but doesn’t really mean it. You made a face and turned around.
“But I haven’t forgotten that I love you,” Jinyoung said from behind. A shudder ran through your body. You clenched your fist and closed your eyes. You didn’t know if you were relieved or scared.
************************************************
You hadn’t answered Jinyoung’s text messages after the event because you didn’t want him to know that you were sick. It had been two days and he was worried.
You dragged yourself out of bed to open the door. Somebody had been knocking for quite a while.
“Are you okay? Why haven’t you been answering my calls? I was so worried.” Jinyoung bombarded you with questions.
“I was..” you began to talk but a fit of coughing took you.
“You’re sick,” Jinyoung exclaimed holding you. You struggled to open your eyes as your vision blurred. Your body was too week. Jinyoung picked you up and took you to the room, carefully placing you on the bed.
He left and came back after a while with soup in his hands.
“Here,” he placed the spoon near your lips. You slowly sipped in some.
“Thank you,” you said with a weak voice.
“Shhhhh,” Jinyoung nodded, placing his hand on your forehead. He stroked your hair till you fell asleep.
You spent the next three days in bed. Jinyoung stayed by your side every second to make sure you got whatever you needed. You wished he wouldn’t do that but a little part of you was getting used to his presence. You liked it when he worried about you and ran around, to get things for you. You had never seen a guy who would do all this for his girl.
“No no, don’t get up!” Jinyoung sprang up and lunged towards you.
“I’m fine,” you said with a bright smile on your face. You really were feeling better.
“What do you need? I’ll get it for you.” He asked with a worried look on his face.
“I don’t need anything,” you shook your head with a reassuring smile. “Wait, actually I do need something.”
“What?” he asked placing his hand on your cheeks.
“Take me out somewhere!”
Jinyoung stared at you with disbelief. “You’re too sick to go out.”
“I’m not sick anymore. I’m tired of being in bed. It’s been 4 days Oppa.” You stood up. “See I’m fine.” You tried to make him believe you.
He sighed. “Where do you want to go?”
“The lake near Seoul City Center.” This is the place you used to go whenever you were lonely but that night you wanted to go with him.
**********************************************
“It’s so peaceful here at night.” Jinyoung sighed.
“Ye,” you replied. You were happy that he was by your side. You didn’t know if you’d started liking him but his presence always satisfied you. You knew nothing could ever happen to you, if he was there with you. He seemed like a protector.
You looked at him and smiled. It hadn’t been seven days but maybe you were falling for him. It wasn’t going to hurt if you gave him a chance. You took him by surprise when you held his hand. Jinyoung looked at you with questioning eyes.
“I don’t want you to go anywhere.” You said and rested your head on his shoulder. He didn’t know why you’d said that but he was happy that you’d accepted him. You belonged to him now. A tear rolled down his cheek but he wiped it quickly, wrapping his arms around you.

You looked at him through the little space between the books. His perfectly crafted face, his shining eyes and his soft lips always marveled you. He was deeply absorbed in the book that he was reading. You stared at him intently as he finished each page and moved on to the next one. You didn’t even realize that you had been standing there for 20 minutes.
“Do you want me to help you find a book?” a library assistant asked you.
“Aiiiiii,” you jumped around. His sudden appearance had scared you. The books that you were holding in your hand flung in the air and landed in the other aisle. The assistant gave you a strange look and walked away. You were used to getting such looks. It wasn’t anything new for you. You sighed and turned around but jumped back again creating the same weird sound. Wooyoung was standing in front of you with your books in his hand.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare you,” he apologized.
“Its fine,” you said tucking your hair behind your ear.
“Here,” he gave you back your books. He looked like he was trying extremely hard to control his laughter. You knew he was laughing at your stupidity and your weight and your messy hair and your uneven eyes. You really thought he was a nice guy but maybe he wasn’t.
You took the books from him and turned to walk.
“Usually, people say thank you, when someone does them a favor,” he said from behind.
“Ghamsahamnida,” you said without turning and proceeded out of the library. You were always insecure about yourself. You hated what you looked like and now seeing Wooyoung laugh at you had left you devastated.
You had first seen him at the school play. You couldn’t see his face clearly from afar but you had fallen in love with his dancing and singing. He was extremely talented. You followed him out of the theater after the performance just so you could catch a glimpse of his face. When you finally saw it, you were dumbfounded. You hadn’t seen some one more perfect than him. All you could do was stand in the corner and squeal.
At nights you would think about him and create scenarios in your head but at the end always left yourself dishearted. You knew that you could never be with him. He was a popular kid in high school while you were a short, chubby girl who nobody knew.
***************************************************
Everybody was crying as you entered school one morning.
“Who died?” you asked your friend.
“No one died. It’s about Wooyoung.”
“Wooyoung??? What happened to him?” you panicked.
“Relaxxxx! He got casted by an agency so he will be leaving soon.”
“What?” you gasped. You felt your breathing getting faster and your heart racing.
“Yeah! But he will come back soon! To give his finals!” she added.
Tears began forming in your eyes. You turned around and began running towards the back side of the school. That is where you went every time something bad happened to you and you felt like crying to let it all out. Your vision was blurred by the tears.
“No no no no no!” you said repeatedly while shaking your head. You buried your face into your hands and cried for a long time. As time passed by you didn’t even know why you were crying. It’s not like he was ever yours to begin with. You felt like somebody had just plunged a knife into your heart and twisted it around. The pain was unbearable. You wished you hadn’t fallen for him in the first place but love doesn’t come with warnings. You knew you couldn’t love anyone the way you loved him…
**********************************************
Two weeks had passed away. You were doing much better than you had expected. You had decided that you were going to wait for Wooyoung to come back and when he did you were going to confess your feelings. You didn’t care about how he was going to react. All you knew was that twenty years from now you were going to regret not telling him. But to do that you would first have to change the way you looked. You had promised yourself to lose weight, enough weight to shock everyone.
Your diet consisted of fruits and vegetables. Soda was a big NO and waking up at 6 o clock in the morning for the gym became a part of your routine. You hated it but it was worth it.
***********************************************
Three months passed by in a breeze. You were definitely not the person you used to be. You were much skinnier now. People in school had started noticing you. A few guys even asked you out but you politely refused. You were waiting for your Wooyoung to come back.
It was the first day of the finals and also the day Wooyoung came back. You excitedly stepped into the school.
“Hey, ready for the big day?” your friend patted your back.
“Yep,” you clapped your hands together.
“Go get him,” she pushed you. You saw Wooyoung walking towards the classroom with all the girls following close behind. Your heart was racing. All the confidence that you had built up in the last three months was slowly draining away. You felt your hands getting numb. To get to him you would have to pass through the flood of girls. You took another step but your feet froze. You couldn’t do it.
“What’s wrong?” your friend asked.
You looked towards the ground and sighed. “I can’t do it!”
“Yes you can!” she encouraged you.
“Look at him Suli! He didn’t know I existed before and now that he’s actually famous what do you expect? He’s going to laugh at me, just like the other day.”
“He won’t laugh at you my love. At least give him a chance.”
You shook your head. “I don’t think I can do this.”
Your friend sighed. “Come on let’s get to class. We’ll figure this out later okay.”
***************************************
After class you decided to leave immediately before your friend could spot you and force you to go up to Wooyoung.
“__________,” Suli called from behind.
“Aii,” you began running without turning around. You entered the theater’s practice room and closed the door behind you.
“Open the door ______, I know you’re in there,” she banged on the door.
“Aneyo,” you shouted back while looking for the switch board.
“Ah there it is,” you turned on the light. You didn’t realize that your foot was inside the loop of wires. As soon as you took a step, you lost your balance and began to fall. Two arms held you and supported you upright.
“Are you okay?” Wooyoung asked you.
You were running away from Suli so you wouldn’t have to face him and there he was standing right in front of you. Your hands began shaking. You couldn’t even look him straight in the eyes. Wooyoung hadn’t moved at all. You could feel that he was still looking at you. You slowly lifted your head.
Wooyoung snapped his fingers. “Yes I remember! You’re the same girl from the library.” He began laughing.
You couldn’t believe it. You had worked so hard on yourself and he was still making fun of you. Wooyoung stopped immediately as he heard your sniffles.
“Ai , what happened?” he panicked.
“You are such an ignorant and immature person,” you yelled and turned to leave. He was surprised by your reaction. He ran toward you and blocked your way.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
You didn’t respond and began to walk but he blocked your way again, now spreading his arms.
“Did I do something wrong?” he asked.
“Wrong? Are you seriously asking me that?”
He nodded his head. You couldn’t control your anger anymore.
“I am tired of people making fun of me for my weight and the way I looked. Do you have any idea how much you hurt me that day when you laughed at me? I promised myself that I would lose weight just so I could prove to everybody that appearance isn’t all they should look at it. I did this so I could tell you how much I…” You realized that you had said too much.
“How much what?” he asked.
“Nothing,” you looked away.
Both of you stood in silence. You wanted him to say something but he was just as confused as you were.
“I didn’t laugh at you because of the way you looked,” he finally said. You turned your head to face him. “I was laughing at what you had done.”
You looked at him with questioning eyes.
“When you flung your books in the air and managed to throw them on the other side of the library. I thought that was pretty funny,” he said with a serious expression. “I regret it now because I didn’t know it was going to hurt you. I am so sorry.”
You felt stupid. How could you even think that Wooyoung could think of something like that? He had a nice heart but you had misjudged him. You didn’t know what to say. He had left you speechless.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered.
He didn’t say anything. You knew you’d made a fool out of yourself and there was no fixing it now. Whatever little chance that you’d had with him were gone forever.
Your began to walk towards the door. Your feet felt heavy. You’d lost something you never had. Life was unfair but it could be this unfair, you had no idea.
“Wait,” Wooyoung called after you. “Where were you the day I was leaving?” he asked.
You were confused. Why did he want to know?
“I looked around for you.” He said scratching his head. He seemed nervous.
“Why?” you gathered enough courage to ask.
“To be honest, I’m not sure,” he replied after much thinking. You weren’t disappointed at his answer. All you could think about was the fact that he knew you existed three months ago. You remained quiet. You wanted him to do all the talking.
“Can we just forget about all of this and start over?” he asked. You noticed that your heart wasn’t racing anymore. You were emotionless at the moment.
“Can we?” he repeated.
“Ye,” you whispered.
“Gomawo,” he replied and a huge smile spread on his face. He seemed happy. You were happy too. You could feel butterflies in your stomach.
This was much better than what you had planned for the day. These baby steps were one day going to lead you straight to his heart…

“Aaaaaaa,” you made a weird sounds as you woke up and stretched. You looked around for Seungho. He wasn’t in the room. Your body was sore from last night’s rock climbing.
You got and left the room. You found Seungho sleeping on the couch.
“Oppa wake up,” you shook him.
“Aii, let me sleep he buried his head under the pillow.”
“You have an early schedule today,” you reminded him.
He sprang out of the sheets, looking for his pants. “Oh my God! Yeah I need to run.”
“Why were you sleeping on the couch though?” you asked again.
“Oh, huh,” he looked at you and then made a face.
“What?” you asked shrugging your shoulders.
“You should really see the way you sleep at night. I barely had any space on the bed. I was about to fall off the bed. And then that big Panda of yours just has to sleep with us doesn’t he,” he complained.
“Aii, I’m sorry Oppa,” you made a sad face.
“It’s okay but I need to run right now okay! I’ll see you tonight,” he gave you a quick peck on the cheek and left.
You sighed and got up to clean around. This wasn’t the first time the panda had come up in the conversation between you and Seungho. You didn’t want to tell anybody about the connection you had with it. You shook your head and wiped the tears forming in the corner of your eyes and began working.
**************************************
“Anneyong,” you greeted Seungho, and put your arms around his neck.
“How was your day?” you asked.
“It was tiring,” he said gently pulling out of your arms and sitting on the couch.
“What happened?” you asked.
“My body was so sore from last night and then I had to sleep on the couch so I couldn’t practice at all today,” he said with a slightly angry tone.
“Ai, I’m sorry,” you said rubbing his back.
“It’s fine,” he said getting up.
“No wait, let me give you a massage,” you said holding his hand.
“I’m fine okay!,” he said angrily and pulled his hand away.
“What’s wrong with you?” you asked obviously surprised by his reaction.
“Nothing.”
“No tell me.”
“My problem is that stupid Panda in your room.”
“What are you talking about?” you asked with a confused expression.
“Why is that panda so important to you? Why does the panda have to sleep with you and I every night?” he asked holding you tightly.
“You don’t understand,” you whispered.
“You’re right! I don’t understand. You know what, that’s it,” he flung his hands in the air and then let them fall. “You need to choose between me or the panda?”
“Oppa, do you even hear yourself?” you asked. You were very disappointed.
“Yes I know exactly what I’m saying. You need to hear yourself.”
“Why would you be jealous of a stuffed toy?” you asked getting angry now.
“I AM NOT JEALOUS OF A STUFFED TOY,” he yelled. “I just want you to grow up already. You’re not a kid anymore.” His eyes were burning with anger.
You guys had never fought like this. This was the most childish argument that you’d ever had.
“You know what, I give up,” you said as tears started flowing out of your eyes. You slammed your room’s door on his face.
You heard him slamming the front door as he left too. You sat in the corner and cried a lot. You were disappointed in Seungho for not understanding. It was partly your fault too for not telling him why you loved the panda so much.
It was near 2 am when Seungho came back. He slowly opened the door to your room. You were still sitting in the corner, with your legs scrunched up and your head buried in them. He came and sat beside you.
“_________ ah,” he called your name, gently shaking you. You looked up at him with your puffy eyes.
I’m sorry,” he said. You looked away.
“Come one,” he said turning your face towards him. He held his ears. “Please forgive me?”
“It’s okay,” you said and hugged him.
“Now do you want to tell me why the panda is so important to you.”
Your heart sank but you knew it was time you told him. He deserved to know. You began telling your story.
“When I was five my dad took me to a street market. I begged my dad to buy me that panda… we weren’t that rich but I was too young to understand that. I kept begging him to buy it for me. He couldn’t say no to me so he bought it for me. I have no idea where and how he got the money for it. I was so stupid Seungho. I was so stupid. I wish I understood how hard our life was back then. Umma and Appa never made me feel, that we were poor. They would get me anything I wanted. So when he got me the panda, I was very happy.” You paused for a while and then began again. “Then Appa, told me to wait for him by the shop. I don’t know where he went but a while later I saw him on the opposite side of the street. He called my name and waved at me. I waved back. He ran towards me and that’s when..” a tear rolled own your cheek. Your voice choked. Seungho held your hand to give you support. “That’s when a car hit him.” You were crying now. “There was blood everywhere and Appa was lying motionless in the middle of the road. My Appa was dead. He was dead..” you said. Seungho pulled you into a hug.
“This panda is the only memory I have of him,” you said between sobs.
“I’m so sorry baby. I had no idea..” He rubbed your back. You cried a lot.
“It’s okay,” you said.
He wiped your tears. “I feel awful about what I said earlier.”
“It’s alright. I should have explained earlier. And besides you had a bad day, today.”
He held your face. “The panda can sleep with us every day,” he said.
A smile broke on your face. You hugged him.
“Sarangaheo Oppa!”
“Saranghaeo,” he whispered back.
“Now how about that back massage?” you asked getting up.
“Yeah, I’d love that.” He got up and picked you up.
“What are you doing?” you asked with a nervous laugh.
“About to get a back massage from you,” he said kissing you on the neck and dropping you on the bed.
“Oo, Oh,” you gasped as Seungho got on top of you.

“What are you doing?” Xiumin asked jumping on the bed besides you.
“Playing temple run.”
“Are you still trying to beat Tao’s score?” he asked.
His comment made you laugh so hard that your phone fell out of your hand.
“Thanks a lot Oppa,” you pouted.
“Mianhe,” he said snuggling with you.
“So what was your mom saying?” you asked.
“Yeah.. about that,” Xiumin said and scratched his head.
“What?” you chuckled.
“Umm I don’t want you to freak out or think that we’re taking this too fast because I can totally wait if you want me to,” he looked at you with questioning eyes.
“What do you mean?” you asked obviously very confused.
“I want you to meet my parents,” he said and closed his eyes tightly and clenched his fist, as if afraid of your response.
You loved it when he did that. You started giggling.
“So what’s wrong in that?” you asked giving him a kiss on his cheek.
“Oh my God, I thought you were going to say no,” he took a sigh of relief.
“I love you so so soooo much,” he said cuddling with you.
“I love you too,” you whispered.
*******************************************
“Anneyonghasaeyo,” you bowed and greeted Xiumin’s parents.
“Anneyonghasaeyo,” the replied and let the two of you in.
“Xiumin ah, she is even more beautiful then you described her,” Xiumin’s mother said pulling your cheeks. You were surprised. Usually, your ‘future’ parent in laws don’t act like that. Nevertheless you liked it.
You turned around and looked at Xiumin. He was smiling at you. He didn’t find that weird at all. You smiled back reassuringly.
“Come on in,” she said pulling you towards the sitting area.
“We are so happy to see you here. The last time this family saw a wedding was.. well when Xiumin’s father and I got married,” she said and burst into a laughter.
Xiumin had warned you that his parents could get a little carried away some times. You thought he meant that they were very strict but this was the complete opposite.
“So tell me something about yourself,” she said holding your hand.
“Aii, I work for a local bank,” you said.
Her expressions changed. “Will you work after the two of you get married?” she asked with a serious face.
“Aaa,” you didn’t know what to say. “It depends on what Xiumin says,” you said and looked at Xiumin.
He gave you a thumbs up. You smiled back.
“So, how many kids have the two of you decided to have?” she asked.
You were shocked. Why was she asking you weird questions? You didn’t know how to answer.
“Aaaa 2” you said closing one of your eyes as if estimating.
A smile spread across her face. “Xiumin ah, where did you find this girl? She is perfect for you.” She said and laughed.
Xiumin looked at you apologetically.
“I am fine,” you mouthed the words.
“Thank you,” he mouthed back.
All of you proceeded to the dinner table. So far everything was going great.
“Do you know how to cook?” she suddenly threw another question at you.
“Ahh, Ye!” you replied.
“Doesn’t look like it. My Baozi has lost a lot of weight.”
“Umaaaaaaa,” Xiumin whined.
You couldn’t help but laugh. Xiumin’s parents turned around and glared at you. You quickly stopped and went back to eating your meal.
After dinner, you offered to make tea for them. Xiumin’s mother couldn’t stop praising you.
“Xiumin ah, take her home safely,” she said as all of you stood at the door to say goodbye.
“I will Umma,” he said.
“She has no idea I live with you does she?” you whispered.
“Yep,” he whispered back. “You can imagine what will happen if she finds out.”
You giggled. His parents closed the door and the two of you began walking home.
“Gomawo,” he suddenly said breaking the long silence.
“For what?” you asked.
“For keeping up with eomeoni,”
“Oh the things I do for you,” you said wanting to pull his cheeks but he stepped away.
“Not you too,” he said.
You giggled again as you rested your head on his shoulder.
“I love you _______.”
“I love you too,” you replied.

“Come on.. come into the water,” you friend pulled you.
“Nooo,” you pulled back. “You know I’m scared of the water.”
“Such a loser,” he said and ran towards the tide.
You wrapped your towel around you tightly and sat in the corner. It was a windy day. Why were you and your friends on the beach? You had no idea. Seeing them play in the water made you jealous. You wished you could do that too. You’d always been scared of it. You sighed and turned your head in the other direction trying to avoid the scene. There was a guy walking on the beach at a distance. You couldn’t define his features but you could tell that he was very handsome. The wind gently brushed his hair, he pulled it back but it was no use.
‘Why is he walking by himself?’ You thought to yourself.
“__________, Last chance! Come onnnnnn,” you friend screamed. A wave suddenly hit him from behind. You couldn’t help but laugh.
“That’s why I don’t want to come,” you screamed back.
You quickly turned around to look at the guy again but he wasn’t there anymore. Your eyes wandered everywhere, searching for him but you couldn’t find him.
One by one your friends started coming back.
“You should’ve come,” your friend said and hugged you.
“Ewwww, get away,” you pushed him. “You’re wet.”
“So what! You have a towel wrapped around you,” he said and advanced towards you. You hated it when he did that. Why couldn’t he just act like a normal friend? You’d told him that you thought of him nothing more but a friend but he loved flirting around with you.
“Stop! Come on lets go change,” your other friend stopped him and pulled him in the other direction.
“Thank you,” you mouthed the words to your friend as she left with him.
You took a deep breath and looked at the sea. The waves had started settling down.
‘Maybe I should go and try it for once’ You thought to yourself. You really wanted to see what it felt like to be in the water. You slowly started walking towards the water and stopped only inches away from it. You took off your towel and thought one last time and finally stepped into it. It was cold. A shudder ran through you but you didn’t back down. You continued into the water staring blankly into space. You felt good. It wasn’t bad at all. It was very soothing actually. It was when you were knee deep in water that you decided to go back. You turned around but just stood there. Slowly, you bent down and touched the water. You could feel the sea weeds touching your feet. Suddenly a huge wave from behind hit you and you lost your balance. You struggled to open your eyes under water but they hurt. You tried to push yourself up but you couldn’t.
This was it. This is how you were going to die. Your life was flashing before your eyes. All the bad things, good things, things you regretted doing, things you wished you’d done, were now playing in your head.
Suddenly two hands pulled you out of the water. And that’s when you lost consciousness.
***************************************
He pulled you out of the water and settled you on the sandy beach. You weren’t responding. He was panicking too. He pumped your chest. Some water came out but you still didn’t breath. He repeated the process but you still didn’t respond. He shook you.
“Oh God! What do I do?” he said and smacked his forehead.
He thought for a while and then leaned in to give you mouth to mouth. His lips were only inches away from yours when you coughed out some more water on his face. You slowly opened your eyes and began getting up but bumped your forehead into his.
“Ouch,” you said rubbing it. He suddenly pulled back.
“Who are you?” you asked instatntly.
“Kris,” he replied quickly.
You stared at him. He looked like the same guy who’d been walking on the beach. You narrowed your eyebrows and stared at him intently.
“Although most people say thank you when someone saves their life,” he said with a sexy smile on his face.
You felt stupid and looked away. He was still on top of you. The two of you were in a very awkward position. He had carefully placed his hands on your waist and was looking at you intently. Your wet and bare body was shivering. You looked at him looking at you. You’d never had a guy this close to you, especially when you were half naked.
“Ahem ahem..” you cleared your throat.
“Oh sorry,” he said shaking his head.
You expected him to get off of you but he didn’t.
“Umm you also might want to get off of me.”
“Oh I am so sorry. Uhh.. I don’t even know what I’m doing right now,” Kris said and quickly got up. He seemed nervous.
He ran and grabbed your towel for you.
“Here,” he said and wrapped it around you.
“Gomawo,” you said.
“So I’ll see you around?” he said taking a few steps back.
“Ye,” you replied, secretly wishing he wouldn’t go away.
He turned around and started walking. You did the same but your heart kept asking you to stop him. You didn’t know why but all you knew was that you didn’t want to lose this chance.
“Kris!” You quickly turned around and called his name.
He turned around immediately as if waiting for you to call him.
“Are you alone here?” you asked.
“Ye,” he replied looking away and then looking back at you. “But you can join me if you want to.”
You felt your heart skip a beat.
He came towards you and pulled you. “Come on, let’s take a walk.”

When I was writing this all I could think of was Kris’s awkward SEXY smile [ you all know what I’m talking about right? Haha]
I know, I know Tao is the one taking long lonely walks on the beach but I guess Kris fits the situation well too :)

“Hey are you busy tonight too?” you asked Luhan on the phone.
“Ahh, yeah. Our practice will run a little late but I’ll try dropping by for a little bit,” he replied.
“No, no don’t stress yourself. We can meet on the weekend,” you suggested.
“I love you so much.”
“I love you too,” you said and hung up.
**********************************
“Hey Luhan,” a girl called him from behind.
“Hey,” he replied.
“What are you still doing here?” she asked.
“Oh just practicing.”
“But practice was over a long time ago.”
“I’m staying after because I need to do better.”
“Are you sure it’s not because you’re lonely and need someone?” she asked taking hold of his arm.
Luhan pulled away immediately. “Hanna I’ve told you this before and I am telling you again, NOTHING will ever happen between us okay? I have a girl friend now so you need to keep your distance.”
“I could honestly care less about your girl friend. She stole you from me,” she replied in anger.
“No she didn’t… you know what just..whatever.” He began packing his stuff.
“Where are you going?” she asked as tears formed in the corner of her eyes.
“To see my girl friend. I should be with ‘her’ right now,” he said and slammed the door behind him.
Luhan and Hanna had been friends for the longest time. He didn’t know when she’d started liking him. He only liked her as a friend. Then he started dating you and things changed. Hanna was devastated. She confessed her feelings to him soon after. They grew apart since Luhan didn’t want to make things awkward.
************************************
“Hey babe.” Luhan slid besides you in bed and kissed you on your temple.
“Heyyy,” you said yawning. “I thought you wouldn’t be able to make it tonight?”
“I wasn’t going to but then I realized that you were more important so I came,” he replied with a soft smile.
You kissed him. He wrapped his arms around you and the two of you drifted to sleep.
***************************************
Luhan left the training room to get some water. Hanna was standing in the corner. She glared at him and looked away. Luhan went up to her.
“Listen I am sorry about last night. I shouldn’t have been mean. I just want us to be friends again,” he said softly.
She turned around. She was obviously hurt but she smiled.
“Me too.” She hugged him suddenly. He was surprised but he hugged her back.
“So did you hear about the kickoff party next week before your tour?”
“Party? Huh where is it?” Luhan asked.
“At a hotel. Its five minutes from here. I am so excited,” she said clapping her hands.
“Me too,” he said and laughed. “I am so glad we can talk like this again.”
“Me too. I missed this so much,” she said.
***************************************
“I am at the party so I won’t be able to come. I really wish I could take you with me though,” Luhan said to you over the phone.
“Its fineee oppa. Go enjoy with your friends,” you replied.
He laughed. “Okay so I’ll see you soon.”
“Who was that on the phone?” Hanna suddenly came from behind and asked.
“It was ________, I was just telling her that I won’t see her tonight.”
“Awwww, you two lovebirds,” she said forcing a fake smile.
Luhan chuckled. “Well this party is boring.”
“Yeah, hey listen the managers booked some rooms in the hotel too. We could just go there and talk?” she suggested.
Luhan felt a little uncomfortable.
“Come on I’ll invite other people too,” she added to make him feel better.
“Oh okay,” he replied and followed her to the room.
The two of them talked for hours. The friends never showed up.
“Huh, I don’t know why none of them ever showed up,” she said and sighed. “Anyway so what’s been going on in your love life,” she asked quickly changing the topic.
“Ahh ______ and I are just great..” he trailed off. “What about you?”
Hanna’s expressions hardened. She grew pale.
“What’s wrong?” Luhan asked placing his hand on her lap.
“Uh nothing,” she said shaking her head.
“No, tell me please.”
“It’s really nothing.”
“Please, if you consider me as a friend,” he insisted.
“After you rejected me I felt so insecure about myself. I needed someone so I could move on and so one day I met this guy. He was very nice to me. We started meeting often and then we started liking each other. Everything was good but then suddenly he just got so violent.” She paused as she stared into space. “He started hurting me. I told him to stop but he wouldn’t. He just continued to do so,” Hanna was crying now. “I wanted to get out of the relationship but I was afraid he’d hurt me more so I carried along and .. then one day he just left. I didn’t know if I was relieved or sad.”
Luhan wiped her tears.
“That experience has really left me nowhere. Every night when I go to sleep I feel so worthless.”
“You’re not worthless.”
“Yes I am Luhan..” she whispered.
Luhan felt extremely bad for her. They had been friends for so long and seeing her cry like this was hurting him more than he thought it would. He was confused. Why was his heart crying seeing Hanna’s tears. Luhan hugged her in a tight embrace. He patted her back and slowly pulled away. She was still holding him and now their faces were very close to each other. Hanna leaned in and kissed him on the lips. He didn’t pull away. They began taking each other’s cloths off as they kissed. She slowly began taking off his pants.
Luhan’s phone vibrated but he couldn’t hear it. You’d been calling him for a long time….
*******************************************
The sun was shining brightly. It hurt his eyes as he woke up. He was shirtless. He turned around and looked at her sleeping next to him.
‘Oh My God, what did I do?… I’m pretty sure nothing happened. My pants are still on. No, no , no this can’t be happening.’ – Luhan was freaking out. His thoughts were killing him. He quickly wore his shirt and left the room.
*********************************************
**Ding dong.. Dong dong.. Ding dong**
The door bell rang repeatedly.
“I’m coming,” you yelled.
“Oh hey, you didn’t tell me you were coming?” you asked as you saw Luhan standing at the door.
“Yeah, I took a day off today and so I wanted to surprise you.”
“Awww,” you smiled.
“So do you want to go to that fall festival that you’d been begging me to go with you too?” he asked pulling you out of the apartment.
“Oppa, I’m not even dressed.”
“You look fineee,” he said.
“But why are you in such a hurry.”
“I’m not. I just want to spend as much time with you as possible.”
You were confused. Why was he acting like this? He had never done anything like this before. But as long as you were getting to spend more time with him you were happy.
“Thankyou Oppa,” you said as the two of you walked back home.
“Why would you thank me for this? You don’t have to,” he said and kissed you. You kissed him back. It had been your first in a long time.
“Wow I don’t remember the last time we even kissed.”
“We did,… just now,” he said and kissed you again, holding you close to him.
You walked back home with him resting your head on his shoulder.
******************************************
Luhan made sure he wouldn’t come across Hanna at all but he failed. As he was leaving the building she caught up with him.
“Luhan wait!”
“I need to go _______ will be here any time and I need to take her somewhere,” he said in a hurry.
She pulled him back, not noticing that you had just entered the building.
“You can’t just deny what happened between us that night.”
“Nothing! Happened between us that night,” he said, grinding his teeth.
She pinned him against the wall. “Luhan how could you do this to me? You took advantage of me? I still love you no matter how hard I try I just can’t get you out of my head. You like me too. You know you do. If you didn’t you wouldn’t have kissed me back that night,” she said as tears rolled down her cheeks.
She was right. Luhan couldn’t deny it. That night he did feel something for her. He just didn’t know if it was permanent or not.
She was still holding him. She got closer. “I just can’t be like this anymore,” she whispered.
Luhan was quiet. He didn’t know what to say. She leaned in and kissed him. He slid his hands on her waist and slowly towards her neck. You took a step back and the boxes behind you collapsed. Luhan looked up. You’d been standing there the whole time. You’d seen everything. Your throat was dry. Your world had been shattered.
Luhan’s eyes widened with shock. He didn’t know what to say.
“I’m sorry,” he mouthed the words.
You wiped your tears. He came towards you but you ran out of the building. He caught up with you pulled you into an alley.
“Please, let me explain!” he begged.
“It’s over Luhan,” you said trying to loosen his grip.
“I won’t let you go. Please!” he said pinning you to the wall.
“I can’t believe you did this to me? Is this why you were being so nice to me? You’re such a player..” you yelled.
“I am so sorry,” he kept repeating. “I don’t know what got into me that night but I am sure nothing happened between me and her. I thought I’d started having feelings for her but when I saw you at the door today, crying, I knew that I loved you and not her. I’m such an idiot for making this mistake. Just.. please don’t leave me. I don’t think I can live without you,” he said in one breath.
“How do I know that you’re not lying to me?” you asked.
He didn’t know what to say.
“I trusted you Luhan. More importantly I loved you and this is what you do to me.”
“I know what I did was wrong but I want to fix that. It will never happen again. She was just so vulnerable that night and I hadn’t been very nice to her in a long time. I wanted to help her but then..”
“Then you had sex with her to make her feel better?” you finished for him.
“I didn’t!” he snapped back. “I know nothing like that happened between us. I wasn’t drunk so I know..”
“Luhan please,” you interrupted.
“Believe me,” he said. You looked into his eyes. There was something about them. You wanted to believe him but you were hurt.
“Just let me go,” you said slowly pushing him away. His grip loosened on you.
You left as Luhan stood in the dark alley. He didn’t know what to do. He questioned his actions repeatedly. He knew now that he loved you and not her but this is not how he wanted to find out. He’d lost you and he wanted to kill himself for that.
***********************************************
Luhan knocked o your front door all night but you didn’t open the door. He’d hurt you a lot but you still loved him. You just didn’t know what to do. Your heart kept telling you to give him a second chance but your brain was unsure. You sat in your room in the dark and cried all night.
The knocking stopped after a while. When you woke up the next morning your head still hurt. Your whole body was warm. You slowly got out of bed and made breakfast. Somebody knocked on the door. You checked through the peep hole. It was the lady from next door.
“Someone’s been sleeping by your door!” she said as you opened the door. You looked down. Luhan was sleeping while leaning against the wall. You wanted to cry seeing him like this. You quickly woke him up and brought him inside. The two of you sat on the couch in silence
“Why are you doing this?” you asked him after a while.
He didn’t respond. Instead he turned around and hugged you.
“Please, just give me one more chance,” he whispered.
His touch made your body tingle. It was like the first time he’d touched you.
“I want to let go off you but I can’t Luhan. I can’t just forget all the time I’ve spent with you. I’m still in love with you Luhan,” you finally said. He tightened his embrace.
“I’ve hurt you so much and I don’t deserve you but if you accept my apology I promise you it will never happen again.”
You pulled away. “Please don’t play with my heart again.” you said and wiped your tears.
“I won’t.. I promise,” he whispered.
Luhan leaned in and kissed you on the cheek and then your forehead and then finally your lips.

Okay this is way too long but I just loved this request so much that I just rambled on! Any ways I hope you like it :)
***Anon Naiya requested me to write a scenario of how I would like to meet my ultimate bias in real life. So here it is! [ I’m not into R.O.M.A.N.C.E or cheesy stuff so this might seem a little dry haha]***
“What’s that girl doing here?”Kyuhyun asked a stage assistant.
“Which girl?”
“The one in the corner!” he pointed towards you.
“I don’t know. I haven’t ever really seen her around either,” the assistant replied and left.
Kyuhyun went back inside his room to get ready.
Soon the guys come out of the room; all ready to go on stage.
“Who is she? She doesn’t look like she’s from around here.” Sungmin whispered.
“I know. She doesn’t seem like a fan because then she’d be squealing but she is a foreigner so that doesn’t make sense.”
“Why are you paying so much attention to her?” Ryeowook said to Kuyhyun and winked.
“Oh Please. Why would I be paying attention to her. It’s not like she’s that pretty,” Kyuhyun said while rolling his eyes.
“Shhhhh, don’t say that. She can hear us. She’s right behind you.” Donghae said.
“She can’t understand us. Do you really think ‘She’ would know Hangul,” Kyuhyun said.
You could hear all of them clearly. You were mad about Kyuhyun’s comment earlier.
“Hey, guys get ready for the stage,” you said in Hangul as you walked passed Kyuhyun, glaring at him.
The guys stared at you with amazement.
“You know Hangul?” Sungmin asked.
“Ye Sungmin sii,” you replied.
“And you know my name?” he asked.
“Yeah, I used to be an ELF,” you replied and smiled.
“Used to be?” Kyuhyun asked raising his eyebrows.
“No, I still am, but I only like ‘some’ members,” you said making it obvious that you’d heard his comment earlier.
“Okay guys, you are on in 5, 4, 3, 2 … 1”
The guys ran on to the stage.
**********************************
“Hey, sorry about earlier. I didn’t mean to say it like that?” Kyuhyun said getting off of stage.
“So the sharp comments aren’t just an act,” you said and smirked.
“Anneyo,” he said and scratched his head.
“Why are you here?”
“Why can’t I be here?”
“No, like .. you know what I mean?” he chuckled.
You were giving him a hard time.
“I am here with the other trainees from our school. You guys needed a translator for the foreign fans who got backstage passes so they called me in since I work nearby.”
Kyuhyun’s eyes widened with amazement.
“Wow, you teach English?” he asked.
“Yeah.”
“Which school?”
“Why do you want to know?”
“No, I’m just asking,” he said while trying to control his smile.
“There’s only one school in this area,” you said; getting ready to leave.
“No tell me,” he called from behind.
“Figure it out yourself,” you said and left.
You remembered the days when you were madly in love with Cho Kyuhyun. You couldn’t imagine talking to him and standing this close to him. All those years of hard work had finally paid off. Learning Korean, moving to Korea, getting a job in a school. It had been a long journey for you and this is exactly how you’d planned it out.
********************************************
“We will be finishing class earlier today. Good bye everyone,” you announced. All the children rushed out of the room.
You got busy cleaning your desk and wiping the board. Somebody knocked on the door.
“Come in,” you said.
“Ahem ahem,” he cleared his throat. You jumped around.
“Oh it’s you,” you said and went back to cleaning the board.
“Anneyong,” he greeted.
“Anneyonghasaeyo,” you replied.
“You don’t have to be formal around me.”
“We’re not friends.”
“Would you like to be?”
You smiled but he couldn’t see because your back was facing him.
“Why are you here?” you asked.
“To ask you out for coffee.”
You were surprised [and of course happy].
“I’m busy.”
“Does that matter.”
“Shouldn’t it?”
“Okay we both know that you’d love to have coffee with me so drop the act and come.”
You turned around and looked at him. He was smiling. The same smile you used to die for when you looked at his shows on T.V and his gifs on tumblr.
You nodded your head.
“Come on,” he said.
You followed him out of the room. This was happening. It really was
**********************************
“So why’d you move here?” he asked while sipping coffee.
“I wanted to try something new.”
“So… you moved here?” he raised his eyebrows.
“Yeah.”
“I like your confidence. Many can’t survive this.”
“Survive what?”
“Living here. Come on, we all know how hard it is around here. We aren’t the friendliest people in the world.”
“I know and it does seem a little awkward sometimes but this is what I chose and I want to stand by it.” You replied.
You looked at him for a response.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” you asked waving your hand into his face.
He shook his head. “You’re different. Really different. I’m just amazed I’ve never seen some one give up everything to come here. I really admire that.”
“Well, not everything..” you trailed off.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
You shook your head. “Nothing.”
Neither of you said anything for the rest of the evening as you sipped your coffee.
“It was nice having coffee with you,” you said shaking his hand.
“It was,” he said shooting a smile at you.
“Good bye,” you pulled away your hand from his strong grip.
“Good bye,” he said and sighed.
You left the coffee shop and were just down the corner when your phone buzzed. It was a text from Kyuhyun.
‘Coffee- same time tomorrow’
You turned around and sure enough he was standing by the shop smiling at you. You smiled back and continued walking.
It seemed like a fairy tale to you but it was real. No dramatic beginning, no cheesy ending. It was straight and simple. Two people falling for each other.

You rested your head on Suho’s arm and sighed.
“Something wrong?” he asked.
“Nothing. I’m just really tired.”
“That’s why I keep telling you to quit your job. You don’t need to work. What am I there for?” Suho asked.
“Not again Suho, please,” you said not wanting to start an argument again.
He sighed and pulled you closer.
***Ring Ring*** his phone rang.
“Who could that be at this hour?” you said.
“I dunno, let me check.”
Suho answered the phone.
“Oh Ai, Annyeongyhasaeyo Umma.”
“Aaaa,”
“Ahan.. ahan but what about..”
“Okay..”
“Yeah alright..”
The conversation ended. Of course you’d only heard Suho’s side of it.
“So what did she say?” you asked.
“My parents want to meet you,” he said pulling a bright smile on his face.
Your heart sank.
“What?” you gasped.
“Wait, is there something wrong with that?” Suho asked. His expressions getting hard.
“Anneyo, but this will be my first time meeting them. You should have at least given me some time to get ready for this.”
“Shouldn’t you always be ready?” he asked.
“I know I should be but my Hangul isn’t that good. How will I communicate with them? And what if I do not fit their criteria of an idol future daughter-in-law.”
“Relaaxxx.. you’ll be fine. Just act like yourself… wait actually don’t do that.”
“What?” you shot him a look.
“No I mean, act a little bit more traditional around them okay?”
“Okay,” you said and sighed.
You knew this was going to be trouble. If you and Suho had trouble communicating than there were definitely going to be problems with his parents.
****************************************
“Annyeonghasaeyo Mr. and Ms. Kim.” You bowed and greeted both of Suho’s parents. You looked up and both of them were glaring at you . You looked at Suho and he was shaking his head while eyeing you. His mother looked at him with a stern expression and said something in Hangul.
“What?” you whispered.
“You never address them by their names.”Suho said grinding his teeth.
“What’s wrong with that?” you asked.
“Shhhh,” he glared and told you to be quiet.
Suho’s father said something to him in Korean and he translated for you.
“My parents invited some guests over too. You should meet them.”
“I’d love to,” you said smiling back.
You followed Suho into the living room and greeted everybody.
“Oppa, come over here. There is space next to me” you yelled across the room as you saw Suho looking for a place to sit.
Everybody in the room turned around and looked at you but you didn’t notice. You got up and held Suho’s arm.
“Come sit with me,” you said pulling a smile.
Suho glared at you once again. You turned around and looked at everybody. There was unrest in the room. The ladies were whispering. You saw Suho’s mother leave the room. Suho followed close behind.
Nothing was going right. You were feeling bad now. You walked out of the room. Suho and his mother were in the kitchen. She sounded angry and frustrated. With the little Hangul that you knew, all you could make was that she did not like you at all.
“I told you, she isn’t right for you. There will always be cultural differences. Does she not know how to act at a gathering? I love you my son and I want what’s best for you. This relationship of yours won’t go anywhere if this keeps happening,” she suddenly stopped and looked at you.
“So now, she will eavesdrop on our conversation,” she said. Suho turned around and looked at you.
He was disappointed.
“Minahe,” you apologized while taking a step back.
Suho advanced towards you but one of the guests came into the kitchen.
“When are we eating dinner?” she asked.
“Oh, in a minute. Everything is set on the table. Let’s call everybody,” Suho’s mother said nervously and left.
“___________, please don’t let me down,” Suho whispered.
“I’m sorry,” you replied. You wanted to cry. You were trying so hard but nothing was going in your favor.
At dinner, you were too lost in your thoughts to notice what was going on around you.
“Ahem, ahem.. we do not put our elbows on the table,” Suho’s mother said sternly while looking at you.
You brought yourself back to reality and apologized once again.
*************************************
“Well tonight went well,” you said as you opened the door.
“Seriously! You think tonight went well,” Suho yelled.
You had no idea how mad he was. You were just being sarcastic and he took it seriously.
“That’s not what I meant..”
“I am not in the mood to joke right now okay!,” Suho said slamming the bathroom door behind him.
Up till now you had felt bad for not being able to impress his parents but this was just too much. It was as if Suho couldn’t even see your efforts. You began to cry.
“Now, please don’t cry,” he said softly as he came out of the bathroom.
You didn’t respond. He came and kneeled down pulling your hands away from your face.
“I should just leave,” you said.
“What?” he asked with a surprised expression.
“She’s right Suho. I will never be able to fit in. No matter how hard I try,” you said and got up. “I’ll leave tomorrow morning.”
Both of you lay in the opposite corners of the bed. Neither of you knew what to say. You had been in a relationship with him for a year. You guys understood each other but there were always problems. He didn’t want you to work but you wanted to be independent. His parents hated you, and he never stood up for you. Most of the time when you said something, he’d take it the wrong way. Sometimes you just wished you could express yourself freely but you couldn’t.
A tear fell from your eyes as you thought about leaving him. You were wondering if he was thinking of the same thing. Tonight was going to be the last night the two of you shared the same bed.
*************************************
Suho woke up to the noise of you pulling everything out of the closet. He rubbed his eyes and got out of bed. You stopped for a second and looked at him. Deep down you wanted him to say something. Your heart ached at his silence. How could he be so insensitive? He was just going to let you slip away like this while you cried your heart out the night before.
“So you’re really leaving?” he finally said.
“Yeah,” you replied.
Suho got up and sat beside you. He held your hand.
“Is there anything I can do to stop you?” he asked.
You shook your head as your vision blurred because of the tears.
“I don’t think I can ever let go of you. Please don’t leave.”
“What’s the point Suho? It’s not like you ever defend me. I will always be wrong in your parent’s eyes.”
“I have to respect them.”
“I know and I’m not saying you shouldn’t but at least be a little bit more supportive… I really love you and I didn’t expect things to end like this.”
“Then don’t go.”
You were frustrated now. He couldn’t even understand what you were saying; how would he understand what you felt.
You got up and picked up your luggage. Suho pulled you back.
“I don’t want things to end like this. Please. I’ll talk to my parents okay?”
“That’s not the problem oppa, the problem is that we don’t understand each other well enough to..”
“Then we will start doing that. We’ll start taking out more time for each other.” He said pulling you closer. “You have no idea what last night was like for me. I can’t imagine my life without you. I know our cultures are very different but we need to prove every one wrong. We can do this _________. You and me together,” he said and kissed your hand. “I promise I will be more supportive.”
You were confused. Your heart was telling you to stop but your brain kept telling you to move on. In the battles between heart and brain; brain rarely wins. You hugged him tightly. He ran his fingers through your hair and patted your head.
“I love you”
“I love you too,” he said and kissed you on your forehead.
Deep in your heart, all you hoped was for this relationship to stay strong and forever.

Your phone rang and you sprinted towards it. You knew it was him. It had to be.
“It’s about time you called,” you said sounding mad.
“I’m so sorry. I was really busy yesterday,” Seunghyun replied.
“You could’ve texted.”
“I know and I don’t even have an excuse. I’m sorry,” he said childishly.
“Okay, okay,” you said as you smiled.
“But I have a bad news.”
“What?” your smile disappeared.
“I won’t be able to come back this weekend. They extended our tour for another week.”
“Oh My God! I don’t believe this.” You said with an angry tone. “This is what you said last week. Is this some kind of a joke because..”
“I promise I’ll make it up to you okay. I gotta go,” he said in a hurry and hung up.
“Well you better make up for it,” you muttered to yourself.
You’d waited for Seunghyun for 1 month and now another seven days. This was too much.
*************************************
‘What’s the time of your flight?’ – you texted Seunghyun.
‘Not sure, don’t worry I’ll be home soon.’
‘But I wanna pick you up.’
‘I’ll be late…’
‘Grrrr’
‘I love you’
‘sigh’
‘:) ‘
You shifted in bed restlessly. ‘Where is he?’ you thought to yourself looking at the clock. It was 1 am. You drifted back and forth into sleep. Somebody shuffled the sheets and laid down next to you. You half opened your eyes.
“Oppa, is that you?” you said with a tired voice.
“Yeah,” he said wrapping his arms around you.
“What took you so long?” you asked getting comfy.
“Flight problems.”
“Well I’m glad you’re back.” You yawned and laid your head on his chest.
“I’m glad too,” he said kissing you on your temple.
“_______,” he called your name.
You were sleeping. You didn’t respond.
“_______” he repeated again shaking you.
“Yeah!”
“Are you really this tired?”
“Yeah!” you replied.
“I wanted to give you something,” he said and waited for you to respond. You didn’t. He sighed.
You felt a ring being slipped in your ring finger. You smiled. You were only half awake. All of this was a dream to you.
“Will you marry me?” he asked.
“Of course I will,” you replied with a barely audible voice.
The very next second you sprang out of the sheets and sat up. You’d just realized that Seunghyun had proposed to you.
“Oh My God!” you gasped. “Oppa, you’re really actually here?” you asked touching his shoulders and then his arms and then carefully placing your hands on his chest. Then you looked at the ring in your finger.
“Did you just ask me to marry you?” you said covering your mouth.
He nodded while smiling at you.
You were so surprised. You had no words.
“I wanted to do it in a better way but I couldn’t wait. I wanted to do it as soon as possible.”
You hugged him. “That’s alright,” you whispered. “I love you”
“I love you too,” he replied. “But you still haven’t answered my question.”
“What question?” you asked.
Seunghyun held your hand. “_______ will you marry me?” he asked once again, this time looking straight into your eyes.
“Of course I will,” you said trying hard not to squeal. You hugged him again.
“So did I make up for last week?”
“Yes, yes yes,” you said unable to control your excitement.
Seunghyun kissed you on the neck and slowly moved towards your face.
“It’s been so long since the last time I did this.” He said.
“What?” you asked.
“This,” he said and kissed you on the lips.
Both of you were smiling as you kissed. The proposal might not have been the most romantic one but it surely was going to be a memorable one.

“That was an amazing first dinner together,” you said as you held Xiumin’s hand.
“Yeah! It was. I still can’t believe that we’ve been going out for 2 months and we hadn’t been on a dinner together, alone.” He said looking at you.
You were looking at him with a big smile on your face. He was waiting for your response but you were too busy looking at him.
“What?” he asked.
You chuckled.” Nothing,” you said and looked away.
“No tell me,” he insisted.
“You are just soooo cute,” you said. “Sometimes I just feel like pulling your cheeks.”
“What?” he asked with a surprised but amused look on his face. “Isn’t that what guys are suppose to say to girls.”
You shook your head. “Anneyo. That’s too cheesy when guys say it,” you said.
Xiumin was about to say something but it suddenly started raining.
“Aiiiiisshhhh, we don’t have an umbrella,” he said, panicking. “We need to find shelter.”
The two of you ran down to the side of the street. You guys found a small telephone booth.
“That’s our best escape for now,” he said pulling you. Both of you were soaking wet and stuck in small box.
“Who’s genius idea was it to walk home after dinner?” Xiumin asked looking at you.
“Minahe,” you pouted.
“You look cute, when you do that,” he said putting his hand on your cheek.
You didn’t usually blush when Xiumin complimented you because you guys had been friends for so long but today you were. You looked away shyly.
“Oh my God, Ice cream truck!!!!!” you, suddenly cried with excitement as you saw an ice cream truck outside. “Pleaseee, can you get me one?” you asked.
“It’s raining outside!” he said, with a surprised expression.
“I know Mr. Obvious. But I want ice cream and you’ll eat it with me. It’s not like we’re kids and we’ll get sick.” You said pushing him out of the booth.
Xiumin ran towards the ice cream. He barely made it.
“Oh the things I do for you,” he said handing you the ice cream.
“Why didn’t you get one for yourself?” you pouted, while licking your Popsicle.
“I have schedules coming up. I can’t afford to get sick.”
“Oh please,” you said and shoved it in his mouth.
Xiumin couldn’t stop laughing. “What’d you do that for?” he asked licking it.
“Haven’t you seen it in movies. The couple walks home after dinner or shares an ice cream or plays in the rain. Soooo I am trying to spice up our relationship by adding some romance to it” you said and shrugged your shoulders.
Another fit of laughter took over Xiumin as both of you slowly finished the ice cream and waited for the rain to stop.
“Well this is fun,” you said sounding really frustrated.
“I’m going to call one of the guys,” he said.
You sighed and turned, to watch the heavy rain.
**************************************************
You banged on EXO M’s dorm door. Kris finally came out.
“What?” he asked with a stern voice.
“Why won’t you guys let me see him?” you asked, really annoyed.
“I dunno. Maybe because he is sick.”
You shot him a look.
“You have no idea how much trouble you’re in,” he said.
“What? What did I do?
Kris pulled you inside. His hold was very firm. He was really angry. He took you inside a small room.
“Xiumin couldn’t perform at all last week because he was sick. That’s cost us a lot.” He said while grinding his teeth.
“Well if you guys would have let me take care of..”
“That’s not the problem,” Kris cut you short.
“Then what is?” you asked.
“He is always so distracted around you. You take too much of his time. We need him to focus more on his career right now. He’s too nice to say no to you and you take advantage of that.”
Kris’ words were really cutting. You began to cry.
“I don’t want to hurt you or him and before this gets serious I’d suggest that the two of you break up.”
You were taken aback. “How could you say that?” you asked, demanding an answer.
“If you really love him and want to see him do better than it’s be better if the two of you just stay away from each other for a while.”
You were looking at Kris with a blank expression.
“Kris, you have no right to interfere in our relationship.”
“Would you say the same thing if I told you that the rest of the members agree with me?” he asked.
You were shocked. You did not expect this from them. You’d known them for a while now and this is how they were reacting. You were very disappointed.
“What?” you gasped.
“Ye,” he replied.
*************************************
“Where’s ________? Did she say she was coming? It’s strange that she hasn’t come to visit. It’s been almost a week.” Xiumin bombarded Kris with questions as he entered the room.
“Just lay down quietly and rest okay,” Kris said ignoring the questions.
“I asked you something!” Xiumin repeated.
Kris didn’t respond. Xiumin was upset now.
“Hyung, Please tell me where is she?” he insisted.
“She’s gone,” Kris whispered.
“What?” Xiumin sprang out of bed. “Why? What do you mean?” he asked.
“You know exactly why?” Kris replied.
“Is this still about what happened last week in the rain?” he asked. “If it is I am telling you it wasn’t her fault.” He defended you.
“It’s not just about that, it’s about everything else. Have you seen yourself around her? You need to focus on your career not her for now. Both of you are young and ‘BOTH’ of you have no idea what you’re doing… I told her to leave if she wanted you to be happy and since she does, she left. Now get back into bed. “
Xiumin didn’t have words to explain what he was feeling.
“Hyung, how could you do this to me,” he said as he stumbled on the bed.
“It’s not just me, this is what all the other members think too,” Kris replied.
Luhan and Lay entered the room. “Yeah, I think what Kris is saying is for the good. Your relationship is taking too much of your time.” Luhan said.
Xiumin looked at him. He was very hurt. He took a deep breath and got up.
“What you guys did was very wrong. You guys have ‘NO RIGHT’ to interfere in my personal life,” he yelled. His eyes were burning as he tried to fight his tears. Kris was surprised. Xiumin had never talked like that with any of the members. He was very calm and sweet.
“Don’t you see what she’s doing to you? We are fighting because of her!” Lay added.
“We are not fighting because of her. We are fighting because you guys have started making decisions for me and I do not appreciate that. If anything ______, wants me to focus on my career. She is very supportive. If one of us went wrong in this then it was probably me, certainly not her.”
“Xiumin..” Kris said but Xiumin cut him short.
“This is my life and I will be with whoever I want to be and I promise I will focus on my work in the future but please don’t take her away from me. She is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and you know that too hyung. I won’t be able to do anything without her. Do you want to see me suffering like this?” Xiumin said looking at Kris. Kris didn’t respond. He was thinking.
Xiumin turned around and looked for his shoes.
“Where are you going?” Lay asked.
“To bring her back,” Xiumin said, sounding annoyed.
“Wait,” Kris sighed. “We’ll come too.”
“Why?” he asked with a surprised look.
“We should apologize to her. You are right we shouldn’t have done this.”
Lay and Luhan gave Kris a confused look.
“If, the same thing happens to us tomorrow I am pretty sure we would react the same way. I know, I wouldn’t want to break my girl friends heart or not focus on my career and if Xiumin promises to keep a balance between both then I don’t see why we shouldn’t let them be together.” Kris said looking at Luhan and Lay.
“Gomawo,” Xiumin said as a smile spread across his face. “I am sorry for losing my temper.
“No worries Baozi,” Luhan said messing Xiumin’s hair.
**********************************************
Xiumin entered the room. You were crying with your face buried in your hands.
“______ ah” Xiumin called your name.
You looked up and jumped out of bed. “ I am so sorry. I will never force you to eat ice cream. I’ll always carry and umbrella with me even if it’s boiling outside and I won’t force you to come meet me all the time and you don’t even have to take me on dinner dates or the movies or even that spring festival next month. Just please don’t leave me,” you said between sobs.“You’re my baozi,” you said hugging him tightly.
Xiumin patted your back. “I won’t leave you for this world.”
You looked at him. He wiped your tears and kissed you.
“Ahem ahem,” Kris cleared his throat.
“Ohh sorry about that. ______, the hyungs have something to say to you.”
You glared at the three of them. They all held their ears and said, “Mianhe,” at the same time.
You couldn’t help but laugh.
“We’re sorry. We were wrong. Both of you crazies are perfect for each other,” Luhan said hugging both of you tightly.
“I am sorry, I shouldn’t have interfered in your relationship,” said Kris.
“I’m sorry too,” Lay added.
“It’s alright. You guys don’t have to apologize.” You said.
“Now who wants some coco?” you asked excitedly, trying to cheer everybody up.
“Meeee,” all the members replied at the same time.
You were glad that everything was back to normal.

Joon was sitting beside you and looking at you when you woke up.
“Are you feeling better?” he asked placing his hand on your forehead.
“Yeah much better,” you said struggling to get up. He gave you support. “Is she still sleeping?” you asked looking at the small crib in the corner of the room.
“Yeah.”
“Do you have any schedules today?” you asked.
“Yeah I’m sorry. I already canceled three last week and they really want me to come to this one” he replied.
“No, that’s fine. Go!” you said, smiling to make him feel better.
Joon had left already when you came out of the bathroom. You went over and looked at the crib. Mi Yun, your one week old little princess was still sleeping. You ran your index finger on her cheeks. They were really hot. You panicked and ran out of the room to call Joon.
“Pick up pick up pick up” you said nervously. There was no response.
The door bell rang. You rushed towards it and opened it only to find your parents standing in front of you with a bright smile on their faces. You sighed. You loved your parents but you really didn’t want to see them right now. They didn’t like Joon that much and if they found out that your daughter was sick and he wasn’t home, there was going to be trouble. A lot of trouble.
“Hey honey,” your mother greeted you pulling you in a hug.
“Anneyonghasaeyo” you said letting them in.
“So where’s our little princess?” she asked clapping her hands.
“She’s in the room… ahh but you guys should settle down first. I’ll make tea.” You said nervously.
“What’s wrong?” your mother asked using her motherly instincts.
You gave up. You just wanted your daughter to be alright. “Everything,” you said hugging her.
“Mi Yun is sick.”
“Sesangi,” she said covering her mouth.
The three of you rushed to the room.
“Let’s take her to the hospital.” Your father said picking her up. You wrapped Mi Yun in a blanket carefully.
“Where is Joon?” your mother asked looking around.
“He had a schedule.”
“I knew that boy couldn’t take care of the baby. Why did he take responsibility in…”
“Eomeoni please!” you interrupted. She glared at you as your father forced the two of you out of the apartment.
****************************************
“She has a fever. These kind of things are common during the first few weeks. We will admit her in the hospital just to be on the safe side.” The doctor filled you in with the details.
You were still panicking. Your dad supported you as you were about to collapse. He made you sit down and gave you water.
“Where is Joon. He should be here right now! Did you even call him?” you mother asked.
“I did and I texted him too. So he will be here soon.”
“That boy is so irresponsible. If he can’t take care of you he should just let us know. We aren’t dead yet.”
“Eomeoni!” you exclaimed.
“Don’t talk to me in that tone. You know what I am saying is right. You just love him too much to not see his flaws. When he comes here today I will get things straight with him. You can barely walk and he left you all alone with the child at home.”
Joon pushed opened the door and came inside.
“Where is she?” he asked looking extremely worried.
“They’re going to keep her here for a few days,” you said, trying to hold back your tears.
You looked at your parents. They were glaring at Joon. You held your mother’s hand but she quickly pulled it away and walked towards Joon.
“Eomeoni,” you called.
“You are the most irresponsible person I have ever met in my life.” She said, with a stern voice, pointing towards Joon . “I told her you weren’t right for her and you aren’t. I have no idea how she convinced me to marry you but as always you’ve let her down again. She is sick. Don’t you see her condition?” Joon looked over at you. You looked tired and worn out. “Do you really think she can run to hospitals like this after the first week of her delivery? If your work is so important for you, why don’t you just let her come with us and do whatever you want to do.”
You looked at Joon. He clenched his fist. He was still recovering from his bipolar disorder. You didn’t want anything to go wrong today.
“Abuji stop her,” you said hoping your father would do something. He just stood there listening to your mother.
You looked at Joon apologetically. You held your hands together and begged him to not explode and just listen. He nodded back and took a deep breath.
“Mianhe. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen,” he said.
“Isn’t that what you said last time too? Is this the excuse you will use every time? When will you realize that you are a mature adult now. You need to take responsibility for your actions. I am not even sure if I will let Mi Yun and my daughter come with you once she gets out of the hospital”
Joon shot a look at her. Tears were forming in the corner of his eyes. He began saying something but stopped.
“Please don’t,” he finally said. His voice was barely audible.
Your mother turned around and looked away. You were still surprised at what she’d said. You walked up to her and held her hand.
“Amo, please don’t say that. He does take care of me and what he does for me is enough. He is responsible. You just aren’t around to see it. I can’t ask him for all his time. He has other commitments too.” You paused to see if she would say anything. She didn’t. “Did you ever find out that I was sick three times last month? No right? Because Oppa was there for me. He stayed up at nights to take care of me. Just last week he canceled all his schedules for me. He was going to take another day off so he could bring me to visit you guys.” You took hold of her other hand. “He loves me Amo, and I love him. Why can’t you see that? Isn’t my happiness, what you want? I know there were problems in the past but we all know why that was. He is recovering from it and he will be fine soon. Just, please don’t be mean to him. Treat him like your son. He loves you guys very much.” You could see your mother’s expression soften.
“Had he not been with me through my difficult delivery I would have never been able to make it.” You said now looking at Joon. He gave you a reassuring smile. You looked at your mother. She looked like she was about to cry. You quickly hugged her.
“I just want you to be happy my child.” She said patting your hair.
“I know ” you whispered as Joon wiped your tears. You looked at him. He was smiling now.
Your mother pulled away and turned around, facing Joon.
“Just don’t let me down this time, Okay?” she said.
“I won’t I promise.” He said taking her hand.
You took a sigh of relief. Things weren’t great but they were better than before. Now all of you could focus on your daughter instead of having internal conflicts.
